leaving you bereft

By the time they returned to Grandview Manor, it was already 4:00 pm. The ck Mercedes MPV drove through the thick snow and stopped in the garage.
Esther opened the door and helped Willow out of the car. Esther was worried and wanted to stay to take care of her, but Willow refused.
Willow stood on the steps, looking up at the falling snow and muttering, “Nothing good everes out of worrying about a man.”
Esther didn’t hear what she had said and wanted to ask about it, but Willow had already gone up the stairs. She was clearly freezing and in pain, but she still straightened her back, determined not to embarrass herself in front of someone else. Julian had stripped even her dignity away.
ir went over to help her inside, but Willow gently pushed her away. “I want to walk by myself.”
ir couldn’t help but start crying at the sight of Willow like that. “What happened to you, Mrs. Ziegler?”
Willow hesitated for a moment before replying, “I’m fine. Don’t worry about ine, I want to go upstairs and sleep for a while. Don’t wake me up no matter who shows up.”
She was terrified of losing herposure. She was already far too agitated. It was so humiliating of her.
She had put herself in danger and sacrificed her dignity time and time again for Julian. She had done all of that for a man. It was embarrassing, Willow’s face was pale as a sheet under the bright lights.
She had walked so slowly and sorrowfully, but Julian didn’t know what that kind of sadness felt like. When he needed her, he would call out to her, but when he didn’t, he would just y the part of a perfect husband in front of everyone else.
Willow closed her eyes in silence. All he ever did was make use of her.
When she got to the second floor, she opened the door to the bedroom. It looked the same as always. There was a bouquet of white ca lilies on the bedside table, and the two shirts she had bought for Julian were on the couch. She had even picked out a pair of exquisite cor pins for him.
Looking back, she realized how pathetic and ridiculous she had been. Why was she naive enough to think that Julian was being honest when he said all of those romantic things? She genuinely thought they would fall in love over time. It was ridiculous.
Willow had fallen sick.
She had a high fever that wouldn’t go down, and her body temperature reached 104 degrees. ir didn’t want to hide it, and she immediately called the Ziegler residence.
In the middle of the night, the sound of a phone ringing cut through the silence in the Ziegler residence. After the night watchman answered the phone, he steeled himself and frantically knocked on Dominic’s door.
Outside the door, his voice was urgent and restrained as he reported, “Something happened, Mr. Ziegler Senior. Mr, Jun’s wife is sick, and he’s not at home.”
Dominic was startled. Through the dim window, he was already getting dressed. His voice traveled out of the room as he said, “Wake Liam and his wife up. Tell them to stop sleeping. How dare they sleep when their son is doing something like this?”
With how angry Dominic was, Liam and Mnie hurried to do as he said. Mnie had someints, though. “How weak of her. I didn’t think she was such a fragile person.”
Liam was rather unhappy to hear that. “Haven’t you heard that Julian isn’t in Brindley right now? Don’t you have any idea where he went? As his parents, we should be more attentive toward him, especially since he hurt someone’s daughter.”
Mnie sneered. “Hurt her, you say? She’s so selfish. She already has b5/b% of Neb Group’s shares. You don’t have thatb, /bLiam, nor does anyone else in the Ziegler family.”
Liam paused. “That’s only because Julian gave the shares to her willingly.”
