leaving you bereft

News of Catherine’s outburst reached the Ziegler family.
In the middle of the night, Dominic summoned Liam and Mnie, scolding them furiously.
“That Catherine girl looks like trouble. Sure enough, she’s brought disgrace upon us!”
Mnie quickly exined, “Julian doesn’t even like her.”
Dominic let out a coldugh. “What about the one he does like? Doesn’t she share the same mother as that troublemaker?
“I doubt she’s any better.”
Mnie didn’t dare say another word.
With a wave of his hand, Dominic dismissed the couple, sending them away like pests.
Once they were gone, he pulled out his phone and personally called Willow.
Willow was taken aback.
She had been busy all day and had just returned to her apartment. She had just finished her shower when Dominic called her.
He hesitated for a moment before steeling his resolve. He praised her for handling things well.
He even made his stance clear. “I never liked anyone from the Burke family! But Julian’s mother’s values are all over the ce.
“She kept insisting on keeping ties with them.”
Willow immediately understood that what happened earlier in the day had spread far and wide.
She couldn’t help but smile, but a sense of warmth filled her heart. Dominic truly treated her well.
The next day, an unexpected visitor arrived at Insight–the renowned artist Charlie Burke.
Even though this was his second visit to Insight, Charlie found himself impressed.
A significant amount had been invested into the gallery, making the ce exude sophistication and prestige.
Even a master’s work wouldn’t lose value when disyed here.
But today, he wasn’t here for art, but a personal matter.
Willow met him in the lounge.
Annie, who had never liked the Burke family, served the tea with a loud thud. She didn’t hide her hostility. “Your tea!”
Since Charlie had a favor to ask, he had no choice but to endure this.
bHe /bgrabbed the teacup and tried to sound reasonable.
“Catherine and Julian had known each other for a long time! I swear on my honor, nothing inappropriate has ever happened between them.
“Ms. Harperb, /bI hope you can be a little more understanding.”
Willow responded indifferently.
“So, are you nning to keep spending Julian’s money?”
The expenses in Grandsburg were a bottomless pit. No matter how many sleepless nights Charlie spent painting, he could never make enough
to cover the cost…
Artists valued their pride.
Charlie’s face darkened as Willow’s words struck a nerve. He blurted, “If it weren’t for my daughter’s illness, do you think you’d be lucky enough to live sofortably?
“Mr. Harperb, /bhave somepassion.”
Willow chuckled coldly. “If that’s the caseb, /bfeel free to take back this so–called ‘luckb,/bb‘ /bMr. Burke.”
bSeeing /bthat she was unmoved, Charlie grew resentful, causing his tone to turn sharp.

“Ms. Harper, can’t you have some empathy for us parents? How can you be so heartless?”
Just as Willow was about to reply, Charlie’s phone rang.
The moment he nced at the phone, his expression changed. There was even a trace of humility in his eyes.
He stepped aside to answer the call.
On the other end, a woman sobbed uncontrobly.
“Charlie, I found out that the child was taken away by an elderly woman. I heard she was struggling, collecting scraps for a living and barely getting by…
“Five yearster, she moved away.
“My poor daughter… Does she even have warm clothes for the winter? Did she ever go to school? Does she even know how to read and write?”
A bitter feeling welled up in Charlie’s chest, and his phone slipped from his grasp.
Looking around the luxurious interior of Insight, Charlie felt repulsive. His disdain for Willow only deepened. 1
“People like you will never understand the suffering of others.”
Willow smiled faintly. “Is that so?”
Charlie ended the call with Heather and staggered out of the gallery. He was desperate to uncover his daughter’s whereabouts.
If he could find her, he swore he would cherish her and be a good father.
As soon as Charlie left, Annie stormed in and tossed the teacup that Charlie had used aside.
She scoffed, “Disgusting.”
Willow said nothing.
Now that Grace’s condition had improved and her business was thriving, she had no reason to be unhappy.
Only people who were consumed by anger would be unhappy.
Willow didn’t return home.
Catherine’s scandal had inevitably tarnished the Ziegler family’s reputationb, /beven causing Neb Group’s share price to plummet for a few days.
