Legend of Hogwarts (Harry Potter x League of Legends)
Chapter 40 40: Why Not Ride the Wind, Your Excellency?
Although various restrictions had weakened the system skills compared to their original power in the Summoner's Rift, they were still mighty spells. And Allen possessed the strongest casting ability for these skills, wandless magic.
This was an even higher-level casting technique than silent casting.
Now, here's the question, learning excavation... that joke's too old. Let's try something else.
Forget it, straight to the point: Hey, classmate, do you know how to operate an excavator?
Get lost! Where are you from?
Don't be mad, I'm from Riverwest Highlands.
Riverwest Highlands? Do you know corpse driving then?
Of course, my family all learned a bit. Why?
Heh, nothing, just asking.
At this moment, John desperately wanted to laugh off their feud, but trapped in terror, he could only watch Allen raise his wand and send out a stunning curse for a solo show.
As the saying goes: the more debts you have, the less you care; the more lice you have, the less they itch.
Allen had maxed out Slytherin's hatred, so doing something a bit excessive was no surprise. Besides, Professor Snape was a teacher first and a Slytherin Head second, so he couldn't be "taken care of."
What was there left to fear?
The Shatter Spell worked well on clothing, but considering the punishment that might follow, Allen decided not to use such excessive spells on classmates.
Still, attackers had to pay a price, even Professor Snape wouldn't object to justified retaliation.
That called for a little outside help, but luckily, plenty of friends were ready to pitch in.
While others struggled to find their way, Allen took a quarter of an hour to finish all his preparations. Finally, to guard against John's possible resistance, he added another stunning curse and a petrification curse.
Now, it was time to reveal the grand performance with his victory, otherwise, the actors would be wasting their stage time.
Worth noting: to keep the maze fair, Allen used a growth charm to seal off the paths he had traveled. Being from a Herbology-led house, they were pretty good at this sort of thing.
••┈┈┈┈┈༓┈┈┈┈┈•••
A dim corridor.
Ahead, a boy running; behind, chasing armor.
Panting, Allen tore through several walls before finally shaking off his pursuers.
The armor was almost half-alive, a poltergeist had slipped inside.
No one knew what Dumbledore was thinking, letting Professor Sigma use one of Hogwarts' ultimate defense armors.
Perhaps it was meant as a trap for seventh-years, though Allen took a shortcut, it came at a high price: the chaotic maze.
Traps for first-years were different than for other grades, and Allen's real strength, aside from system skills, was at best that of an ordinary fifth-year student, so struggling was inevitable.
Other problems aside, the poltergeist recognized him clearly, his mastery of fear was largely thanks to it.
However, as a spirit born in Hogwarts, the poltergeist sheltered inside the armor, which blocked most spells, rendering Allen's fear magic ineffective. The prankster poltergeist was no kind spirit.
So, Allen had a good reason to be chased so hard. But now, he was close to the finish, he'd already calculated the endpoint's location.
Though he'd avoided most traps by moving straight, the "tickling" devil's net trap was unforgettable. Other traps he could overpower, but without a clever trick inspired by how to handle the devil's net, he'd have had to relive half his life's laughter all over again.
With all traps passed, he now only needed to follow the planned route, at most one more trap, and he'd reach the end.
The Felix Felicis potion was right ahead, while other students likely hadn't completed half the maze, several traps involved riddles, but Allen had simply carved a new path beside them.
Riddles? A total time killer! Better to just flip the table.
Alright, this intersection, turn east. Shatter!
But Allen was stunned.
The figure ahead was himself!
More precisely, himself lying on the ground with a silver sword plunged in his chest, bright red blood flowing nonstop.
Allen's face turned pale...
What was this?
Has time warped?
Or was it a prophecy?
Some say facing your own death is the greatest courage.
But what if you don't have that courage?
What was this? Allen clenched his wand tightly, even shifting his attention to the system, if something was wrong, he could buy time powers for resurrection!
That brought a little color back to his face.
At the same time, he noticed something odd, the dead version held an identical wand, but the blood fountain showed no sign of clotting.
Damn, he'd been tricked!
He'd actually forgotten this marvelous creature out of fear!
Yes, the cursed Boggart!
He'd been scared by a Boggart. Well done, Professor Sigma!
This was truly the scariest final boss of Halloween.
But now, funny business!
In Allen's spell, his dead self turned gray-haired and serene, he had no intention of letting himself become ridiculous, so dying of old age was a decent ending.
Behind the quietly fleeing Boggart was the small pumpkin, and the Felix Felicis that attracted everyone's attention.
Allen stepped forward and firmly grasped the well-earned prize.
Bang!
Fireworks exploded. The towering ivy maze around the sky shrank low, while bright red flowers rapidly bloomed from tiny buds on the descending vines. Ribbons fluttered down from the sky.
Thunderous applause rose from the Professors' seats and spread to every table in the house, people cheered to welcome the maze adventure's victor.
Professor Sigma stood from the table amid the applause, clapping as he loudly proclaimed, "Congratulations! Tonight, the luckiest warrior has claimed the blessing of the goddess of fortune. Let us give him endless applause!"
But the applause gradually faded, replaced by gasps of awe, not dissatisfaction with the victor, but because something even more magical was happening.
A student was desperately shouting, as a swarm of bats lifted him into the air, uncontrollable.
This was Allen's spectacular finale, "Your Excellency, why not ride the bats and drift straight to the top of the Great Hall?"
