Western New York, Eastern New Jersey, an area beside a certain bridge, at the entrance of a building.

"What's your name? Who sent you to cause this incident?"

Hearing Luo An's question, the black man scoffed, then coughed and opened his mouth, preparing to spit at Luo An.

Ptooey—

A mix of yellow and white flew out of the black man's mouth, but it didn't hit Luo An; Luo An was quicker, immediately grabbing the black man's shirt to shield himself.

The yellow and white substance got on his own shirt, the black man slightly stunned, Luo An sneered, forcefully tore the shirt apart, and stuffed it back into the black man's mouth.

"Ah—"

By the time Reesi and Winslow reached the entrance of the building, what they saw was a black man with his mouth stuffed with a rag, shot in the legs sprawled on the ground, with Luo An firmly pressing on his back, handcuffing his hands.

"You've arrived just in time."

Holding down the struggling black man, unable to move, Luo An gestured to several vehicles parked outside the building with an outstretched hand and commanded:

"The backup I called for has already arrived at the scene. Take the backup now and arrest Hasim Ried and Elaine Ried in the building diagonally opposite."

Suppressing the shock in their eyes, Winslow and Reesi nodded in unison:

"Understood!"

"One more thing."

Winslow and Reesi turned to leave, Luo An glanced at the black man he was pinning to the ground and added:

"Remember to bring a signal jammer, be extra careful when making the arrest, there is definitely a bomb inside."

"OK."

Winslow and Reesi's expressions turned solemn, and they nodded gravely in agreement.

"Woowoowoo—"

The black man's struggle became more intense, but he was continuously pressed firmly to the ground by Luo An.

A few minutes later, Chenier came down the stairs with the black woman, and Luo An and Chenier temporarily handed over the black male and female to the arriving SWAT team for detention, then he began to "stroll" around nearby areas with Chenier.

Zzt—

A few minutes later, a communicator suddenly sounded in the ears of Luo An and Chenier, Reesi's voice came through:

"Successfully arrested the two targets!"

"Good."

Chenier's eyes lit up, and Luo An let out a slight sigh of relief, but he noticed something odd in Reesi's tone of voice, so he asked:

"Besides the targets, is there anything else found at the scene?"

"There are bombs! Luo An, your guess was very accurate."

Through the communicator, Reesi looking at a bunch of bombs in front of her, feeling extremely relieved, cursed:

"The first, second, and third floors of this building, every corner is filled with bombs!"

"Reesi, bring the people out, don't touch the bombs, protect the crime scene."

Luo An walked to the transport vehicle detaining the black man and woman, looked at them inside the vehicle, smiled, and said:

"I've already called the bomb squad, they will be here soon."

"Understood."

After disconnecting the communicator, Luo An leaned on the door of the transport vehicle, looking at the man and woman controlled by six SWAT team members inside the vehicle, and asked with a smile:

"Congratulations, your plan has failed.

How about it, are you ready to answer my questions now?"

The black man sneered without saying a word, and the black woman next to him coughed and prepared to spit, Luo An's face remained calm, and preemptively said:

"Think carefully before spitting, the guy next to you also wanted to do the same, but the substance he spat out was blocked by his shirt, which I then returned to him."

"..."

The air fell silent as the SWAT team members watched, with odd expressions, the black cloth stuffed into the black man's mouth, having just assumed it was a mere rag.

Looking at everyone's gaze, the black man's eyelids twitched violently; his normally dark face flushed with excitement, and as he struggled to curse out again, his words were muffled by a new piece of cloth in his mouth.

Chenier watched the black man with disdain, while the black woman beside him looked around, biting her lip, seeming unsure of what to do.

It wasn't long before Winslow and Reesi escorted the two black men into another car, and then walked over. Reesi paused briefly before asking in a low voice:

"Luo An, what exactly is going on here?"

Today's operation was a success, but throughout the process, she felt as if everything was shrouded in fog, unable to grasp what was actually happening.

The male and female black individuals turned their heads away in silence, still not understanding why they had been discovered and captured.

Luo An smiled, looking at the black man and woman and asked:

"Do you want to know the answer as well?"

The black man didn't speak, but the black woman nodded her head. Luo An smiled and waved his hand to signal the SWAT team to take them away, saying with a laugh:

"I'm not going to tell you."

"..."x2

The car started, and the black woman cursed loudly while the black man glared with wide eyes, wailing soundlessly. With a belly full of questions and anger, they were easily taken away.

Soon, the bomb-disposal agents arrived at the scene, beginning to handle the bombs in the building, and the SWAT team members stationed not far away let out a sigh of relief.

A bearded SWAT team member patted his younger comrade's shoulder and said with a smile:

"Don't be nervous, I told you before departure that operating with Group Leader Luo An is the safest."

"I know."

Remembering the stack of bombs he saw upon entering the building earlier, a look of shock flashed in the young SWAT team member's eyes. Glancing over at Luo An and others in the distance, he asked in a low voice:

"Can you tell me more about Group Leader Luo An?"

The Bearded SWAT Team Member grinned and whispered back:

"For us in the SWAT operational team, Group Leader Luo An is the most outstanding investigative group leader at the FBI Washington Headquarters, bar none."

The young SWAT team member was taken aback, having joined SWAT not long ago. He quietly asked:

"Why?"

"Because the casualty rate is always the lowest for SWAT operational teams that go on missions with Group Leader Luo An!"

The Bearded SWAT Team Member looked admiringly at Luo An in the distance and then explained earnestly:

"Take today's operation, for instance. If it wasn't for Group Leader Luo An changing the plan last minute, had we rashly entered that building with so many bombs, had they exploded, we probably would have all perished here today!"

The young SWAT team member nodded repeatedly. Having entered the building himself, he understood the truth in his colleague's words, and admiringly, gratefully glanced at the distant Luo An. With some confusion, he asked:

"But how did Group Leader Luo An know there were so many bombs inside? And why did he specifically have his team bring a signal jammer?"

Reesi, standing beside the distant SUV, asked the same question, looking at Luo An with a puzzled face.

Winslow and Chenier also shifted their gazes, having some speculations but unsure of their accuracy.

Faced with his own people, Luo An didn't keep up the mystery and explained:

"Previously, Michelle had asked me a question.

Victim Carlton, the anti-gun organization people, and the two blacks from the Reed family, all seem more or less connected.

But it seemed to have nothing to do with me, so why was there a paper with my name on it at the scene?"

"That's right."

Winslow and Chenier nodded, and Reesi said:

"I wasn't clear about the reason for that before either, Luo An, have you figured it out?"

"We have all been overthinking, like the person who wrote that letter wanting to disgrace me, for example."

Luo An pointed towards the direction where the SWAT transport was leaving and said:

"In fact, the true reason is simple—they wanted to attract me to the scene, to handle this case!"
