CHAPTER 801: CHAPTER 803: ONE AGAINST TWENTY-NINE
In the room, before Luo An’s voice had faded, the dagger instantly flew from his hand, flashing with a chilling gleam, heading straight for the young man in the jacket standing at the doorway.
"Hmph!"
The young man in the jacket remained expressionless; he had been prepared for Luo An’s resistance. With a cold snort, he sidestepped to dodge the dagger, allowing it to embed precisely in the wall behind him. He pulled out a gun from his lower back, ready to aim and fire.
The next second, the young man’s face shifted slightly as he saw the wheelchair flying towards him!
Luo An knew that the dagger likely wouldn’t kill Harries with one hit, so as he threw the dagger, he swiftly grabbed Ashiya and tossed her to the ground, lifting the wheelchair and hurling it heavily towards Harries.
Using the wheelchair to obstruct Harries’ movements, he also took the opportunity to quickly close in on the opponent.
Bang!
Crash—
The wheelchair came crashing in, Harries instinctively put away his gun and turned to evade, hearing the ear-piercing metallic clash as the wheelchair hit the ground—a sound of narrowly avoiding a large, dark weapon. Before Harries could catch his breath, a whipping kick suddenly appeared, aiming fiercely at his head!
Harries’ pupils contracted, puzzled by Luo An’s speed. Reflexively, his muscles compelled him to raise his arm to block the side of his head, preparing to withstand the blow.
Bang!
A muffled sound echoed, Harries’ eyes bulging wide, as an irresistible force transmitted from his arm, compelling it to crash heavily into his head, his body collapsing as his head struck the ground first, like a dashed pen!
Thud—
The sound of the head hitting the ground resounded through the room, Harries only felt his vision go dark, discomfort in his throat compelling a cough, but instead, he spewed a mouthful of crimson blood.
Luo An didn’t give Harries a chance to retaliate, he bent down to snatch the gun from Harries’ hand, delivering a forceful kick to his abdomen, sending Harries flying like a ragdoll, striking the wall with a thud, before collapsing again onto the ground.
"You..."
Harries, covered in dust, blood streaming from his forehead and corners of his lips, struggled to rise from the ground, but before he could finish his sentence, Luo An stood before him, raising his right foot once more.
Bang!
Harries’ vision blacked out once more as he lost consciousness, fainting on the ground.
Luo An reached for the dagger he had previously thrown, pulled it from the wall, locking the room door swiftly, and approached Ashiya to cut the restraints from her arms.
On the nearby table, Sister Ali on the computer saw the entire scene of Luo An defeating the young man, Harries, in just a matter of seconds.
Showing surprise but remaining calm, Sister Ali chuckled and even applauded as she praised:
"As expected of Group Leader Luo An, truly exceptional skills, I was truly impressed just now."
In contrast to Sister Ali, Ashiya, lying on the ground, stared fixedly at Luo An. Moments ago, she had closed her eyes, awaiting death, only to be suddenly yanked up and thrown to the ground by him, face first.
Luo An dismissed Ashiya’s glare, cutting through the binding sleeves on her hands, glanced back at the computer, and laughed:
"Thank you for the compliment. Since you recognize my skills, how about withdrawing those outside? I’d hate to harm them."
"I do enjoy your wit, Group Leader Luo An."
With a smile, Sister Ali on the computer screen reached for a device and pressed it.
As Sister Ali acted, the room door reverberated with deafening thuds.
Thump!
Thump! Thump! Thump!
The people outside, unable to break through, began to pull out their guns, ready to shoot at the door lock.
Inside the room, Ashiya’s face turned pale. She quickly tore off the silver tape from her mouth, the swift movement causing pain, but now was not the time to mind it, hastily grabbing Luo An’s arm as she said:
"You take the gun, and give me the dagger; we’ll face them together!"
Sitting in a wheelchair outside earlier, Ashiya had quietly counted how many were outside—twenty-nine in total.
With their opponents all armed, and only she and Luo An inside the room, this battle clearly wasn’t in their favor.
As Luo An saved her, Ashiya understood that they had no other choice; today, it was life or death against these people.
If there’s no choice, it’s best to fight bravely, killing just one doesn’t lose, killing two is a gain!
Determined, Ashiya’s eyes glinted coldly, fixed on the door, waiting for Luo An to hand her the dagger and to begin fighting.
Observing her resolve, Luo An took a deep breath, decisively sliding the dagger... into his pocket on his thigh.
Pushing Ashiya behind the sofa, Luo An said impassively:
"I’m saving you to get you out alive, not for you to throw your life away against them, your corpse is of no use to me.
Stay down, protect yourself back there; I’ll handle those in front."
On the way to the café, Luo An anticipated a tough battle tonight, and had prepared ahead by taking a bottle each of the {Stamina Potion}, {Swift Potion}, {Strength Potion}, {Painkiller Potion}, and {Hemostatic Potion}.
Right now, the potions simmer within, enough to handle those outside. However, should Ashiya recklessly charge forward only to fall in a pool of blood, that would render saving her pointless. Having her stay safe is the optimal scenario.
"??!!"
Shocked at Luo An’s insistence that she doesn’t complicate matters, Ashiya glared at him in both anger and incredulity, exclaiming:
"Are you crazy? Those people outside..."
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
Boom—
Before Ashiya could finish, a series of gunshots rang out, instantly destroying the door lock, and the people outside kicked it down, the door falling heavily to the floor, stirring up a cloud of dust.
"Just protect yourself and the computer, hold onto it safely!"
Witnessing the scene, Luo An’s expression darkened slightly. He shoved the computer into Ashiya’s arms, booting her behind the sofa, then charged straight for the door at an astonishing speed!
"Is he a lunatic?!"
Kicked away once more, hitting the ground face first, Ashiya cursed, setting the computer aside with care, immediately attempting to sneak from the back of the sofa to help Luo An.
As Ashiya peeked out from behind the sofa, the scene at the door left her stunned, frozen in place.
In just a moment, four enemy bodies already littered the doorway!
Even in her startled daze, Luo An grasped a dagger in his right hand, slicing through the arm of a fifth enemy, left hand blowing their head apart with a gunshot. He kicked the body not far from Ashiya, then charged towards a sixth enemy!
Fighting one against twenty-nine sounded terrifying, and indeed, it was no easy feat.
Despite consuming potions, Luo An remained fully alert, swiftly moving to dodge enemy fire and slashes, choosing not to step outside but rather luring them into the room.
Veterans know, when confronted with a group, it’s unwise to charge in blindly—a gap should be maintained, ensuring only one enemy is faced at a time, avoiding being surrounded.
Luo An treated the doorway as a checkpoint; the doorway could only allow one or two at a time, comfortably within his attack range!
Slash!
"Ah—"
Bang!
Again a chilly gleam flashed, severing a hand, then taking a life, as yet another corpse fell to Luo An’s attack.
Wiping the blood spraying on his neck, Luo An hugged close to the door, avoiding the gunfire, loudly calling outwards:
"Keep it coming, come on!"
