Legendary FBI Detective
Chapter 807 - 809: Georgetown
CHAPTER 807: CHAPTER 809: GEORGETOWN
Early in the morning, around five o’clock, at an airport in Washington D.C., the rising sun dispelled the chill, and the warmth felt quite comforting on the body.
Below an aircraft, the members of the special investigation team and SWAT team officers had no time to admire the sunrise. All wearing serious expressions, they were intently focused on the group of men in suits standing in front of Luo An.
There were a dozen or so men in suits, lined up in front of Luo An. Leading them was a middle-aged Caucasian wearing gold-rimmed glasses, slightly taller than Luo An by half a head.
"You want me to go with you, but I’ve never seen you at the FBI’s Washington Headquarters."
Luo An remained unfazed. He glanced at the few people behind the man with the gold-rimmed glasses, his lips curling slightly, and asked:
"Which department are you from?"
The man with the gold-rimmed glasses remained calm as well. He pulled out a badge with a light gold emblem from his pocket and said:
"My name is Klaus, from the Federal Department of Justice - National Security Department.
Group Leader Greenwood, I’ve received information that you and your investigation team are suspected of leaking federal secrets. Please cooperate with us and return for an investigation."
The Department of Justice is an administrative department of the Federation Government, tasked with ensuring the execution of laws, safeguarding the legal interests of the Federation Government, ensuring laws are upheld, and combating domestic or transnational crime.
The FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Drug Enforcement Bureau, Court Police, and Federal Prison Administration are all subordinate agencies under the Department of Justice.
Aside from these, the Department of Justice also has an Emergency Management Office, Department of Justice Police, National Judiciary Library, Office of the Inspector General, and nearly a hundred other miscellaneous departments, with the National Security Department being one of them.
"Ah, so it’s Group Leader Klaus from the National Security Department."
Luo An smiled and extended his hand for a handshake, then asked:
"I have a question I’d like to ask. You mentioned earlier that our special investigation team is suspected of leaking national secrets. May I know exactly what these secrets are?"
"The specifics are inconvenient to detail here."
Klaus extended his hand and shook Luo An’s, but when he tried to pull his right hand back, Luo An held it firmly, as if caught in a vice. His eyelid twitched slightly as he responded:
"I ask Group Leader Luo An to cooperate with us first and return for an investigation. Rest assured, this is merely a routine check. Our National Security Department would never falsely accuse anyone."
"Heh heh heh..."
Upon hearing Klaus lie so seamlessly, Winslow, lacking professional training, accidentally let out a laugh. Chenier and Mona wore cold sneers on their faces as well, their gazes towards Klaus and his team extremely unfriendly.
"Our special investigation team’s mission this time is absolutely confidential, yet you’ve received information suggesting we are suspected of leaking federal security information. I now highly doubt the validity of the informer; he is likely the criminal leaking secrets."
Luo An’s smile became increasingly radiant as he said:
"Group Leader Klaus, please cooperate with our special investigation team to investigate and clarify the information of the informant.
Rest assured, it’s merely simple cooperation, and our special investigation team would never falsely accuse you of leaking federal secrets."
Klaus’s brow twitched as he prepared to speak, but all he heard was the sound of "snap." Looking down, he realized that Luo An had directly taken out handcuffs and restrained him.
"?!"
Klaus’s face darkened, and the group of suited agents behind him had equally unpleasant expressions, reaching to their waists to draw their guns.
Seeing this, Winslow, Chenier, and Mona also reached towards the position of their waist holsters.
The SWAT team members nearby hesitated, exchanging glances, and raised the muzzle slightly without directly aiming at anyone.
Remaining quite composed, Klaus narrowed his eyes slightly and said solemnly:
"Group Leader Luo An, you seem unaware of the seriousness of this situation. I warn you, if..."
"There’s no need for such nonsense, everyone knows what’s truly happening here."
Luo An waved his hand, interrupting Klaus before he could continue with his dark expression. Suddenly, Luo An turned his gaze afar, noticing a cloud of dust rising in the distance.
The dust quickly approached, and soon two cars arrived at the side of the plane. A Caucasian man wearing a suit and sunglasses chose to ignore Klaus and his team, walking up to Luo An and handing him a phone while saying:
"Group Leader Greenwood, please follow me."
Before Luo An could respond, Klaus coldly asked:
"The Department of Justice is conducting an investigation. Which department are you from?"
The man with sunglasses glanced at Klaus expressionlessly:
"White House."
"..."
Klaus’s expression froze instantly, and the group of suited men behind him was also taken aback.
The faces of Winslow, Mona, and Chenier also changed drastically. Luo An, after reviewing the phone, merely smiled and returned it, took Mona’s backpack, and said:
"Mona, Chenier, you lead the team to escort the prisoners on the plane back to the FBI’s Washington Headquarters, making sure to ensure their safety.
Winslow, you take these friends from the National Security Department to the special investigation team to rest for a while. Everything will be discussed once I return."
Seeing the reassuring look Luo An gave them, Mona sighed in relief, and Chenier and Winslow were equally at ease. Klaus wanted to say more, but Luo An and the man with sunglasses ignored him and left the scene in a car.
Watching the two quickly departing cars, Klaus’s expression was exceedingly grim. After a few seconds of silence, he took a deep breath and turned to Winslow, saying:
"Hello, Agent Winslow, today’s incident might be a misunderstanding. Could you help remove these handcuffs? I need to report back and discuss the matter with my superiors."
Winslow grinned, revealing a friendly smile, and gestured lightly. The SWAT team immediately surrounded Klaus and his team.

Meanwhile, the two cars sped across the distance, with the front car leading the way. Luo An and the man with sunglasses sat in the back of the trailing car, watching the scenery speed by as Luo An silently contemplated, rubbing his temples.
The two cars left the airport and entered the main thoroughfare of Washington D.C. Soon after, they changed direction, driving not towards the White House but instead heading northwest.
Witnessing this, Luo An remained utterly unfazed, his expression steady.
Shortly thereafter, the two cars continued forward, finally stopping on a Georgetown street, in front of an unremarkable two-story building.
The man with sunglasses swiftly exited the car and opened the door for Luo An. Luo An stepped out, casually thanking him before the man led Luo An towards the building, pressing the doorbell first.
As the doorbell chimed, a few seconds passed before the door opened from the inside. The man with sunglasses motioned for Luo An to enter while he remained outside the building.
Luo An, carrying his backpack, stepped inside the building. A white-haired man dressed in a server’s uniform quickly came over, greeting Luo An with a smile and indicating that he could take the backpack.
Luo An looked deeply at the white-haired man for a few seconds before handing over the backpack. The old man smiled and subsequently took away the weapons, leading Luo An deeper into the building.
After several turns, the white-haired man stopped in front of a dark brown door, knocking and announcing:
"Mr. Greenwood has arrived."
"Come in."
Upon hearing the voice inside, the white-haired man turned, slightly bowing to Luo An and opening the door for him.
Luo An entered the room and immediately recognized two familiar faces.
Mr. Clement and Trick Kennedy.
