Special Investigation Team office area, Reesi sat down in her chair, picked up her coffee mug, and drank it all in one go, letting out a long sigh:

"I'm really exhausted."

"Good job."

Michelle picked up the coffee pot to refill Reesi's cup, and Luo An grabbed a pack of snacks from Chenier's desk and handed them to her, asking:

"Was the trip smooth?"

"I think this pack of snacks is mine?"

Taking the snacks and looking at the packaging, Reesi gave Chenier a sideways glance, opened the pack, and started eating while saying:

"When I got the call from you, Luo An, and rushed to Washington D.C., there were no problems.

As I entered Washington D.C., not far from the FBI Washington Headquarters, I noticed a suspicious car starting to follow me.

I was about to call you guys for backup, but the car suddenly turned away and stopped following me. After that, I didn't see it again until I got back to this building."

Winslow and Chenier frowned, looking at Luo An in unison, and Luo An said:

"Mona, Michelle, check the surveillance and find out who was driving that car."

"Leave it to us."

Mona and Michelle nodded together, sat back in their seats, and started typing on their computers. Luo An was silent for a few seconds and then said:

"I'm going to the interrogation room."

Chenier quickly asked:

"Do you need me to go with you for the interrogation?"

Luo An waved his hand without looking back:

"No need, I'm just going to have a little chat with Harries.

Chenier, call Trick Kennedy and have him send someone over to pick him up."

Chenier nodded to take the order, found her phone, and made a call. Winslow looked around and got up to head to the interrogation room:

"I'll go there and wait for Luo An, see if he needs any help."

"I'll go with you."

Reesi also got up and followed. When the two of them reached the interrogation room door, it was closed tight, with no sound coming from inside.

In less than five minutes, the interrogation room door opened from inside, and Luo An came out expressionless.

Winslow and Reesi, who were in the hallway, were startled, and Luo An was also surprised by the two crouching at the door:

"What are you doing?"

"Uh..."

Winslow looked embarrassed, turned his head to Reesi, and Reesi twitched the corner of her mouth, reluctantly answering:

"We were just here to see if you needed any help."

Luo An rolled his eyes, having guessed the two were worried he'd do something against the rules, so he stepped aside to show them the interrogation room, where Harries, the man in the jacket, was sitting with a pale face but otherwise fine, and said:

"Don't worry, I didn't do anything to him, just had a little chat."

Winslow and Reesi exchanged glances, breathed a simultaneous sigh of relief, and felt a weight lifted from their hearts.

In some respects, the two of them thought alike; the most important person in the special investigation team was Luo An, and they didn't want to see Luo An getting into trouble over some rule.

Pulling the interrogation room door closed, Luo An patted both of them on the shoulders and turned back toward the office area, asking loudly as he walked:

"Mona, Michelle, have you found anything?"

"No."

In the office area, Mona frowned and shook her head slowly, saying:

"Michelle and I checked the area Reesi mentioned.

Unfortunately, the short stretch of road Reesi drove through, the surveillance on the road happened to be under maintenance, and we found nothing."

"I also checked the license plate Reesi mentioned."

Michelle added:

"It turned out to be a fake. The car with the real number is in New York, and the owners are a couple in their sixties. Both the couple and the car have been at home all day today."

"Looks like they came prepared today."

Chenier frowned slightly, walked into the office area from the side, then shook her phone at Luo An and said:

"Officer Trick sent someone, and they'll be here soon."

"Good."

Luo An nodded lightly, then clapped his hands to get everyone's attention, saying loudly:

"Everyone, as I mentioned before, the follow-up work on this case, I've contacted Officer Trick Kennedy, and he's handed it over to other departments. It's no longer our concern.

However, behind the Judgment Process Church, there are many people and things involved. We, as the primary investigators of the case, may still be targeted by some people.

So for the next period of time, don't relax too much, always keep in touch, and if you feel or find something suspicious, contact someone for help immediately. Understand?"

"Understood!"

"No problem!"

All the agents responded in unison, and Luo An nodded in satisfaction.

Mona pointed to the computer and asked:

"Should we continue investigating the person who was following Reesi?"

"No need."

Luo An glanced back at the interrogation room and said with a smile:

"I'll handle the rest."

After the investigation and handling of the Judgment Process Church case, the special investigation team had been on the run and working non-stop for several days, with very little rest time, so everyone was very tired.

Once Trick Kennedy's people took the man in the jacket, Harries, away, Luo An gave a few simple orders and gave everyone a break, letting them return to their homes to rest well.

Luo An himself drove Mona back to her villa, drank a bottle of Stamina Potion to perk up, and drove to New York.

Murari Roberts, who just turned 70 this year, is a well-known Jewish professor at the George Washington University School of Business. He has trained many renowned figures in society and is highly respected.

"Good afternoon, Professor Roberts."

"Hello, Professor Roberts."

"..."

At half-past six in the afternoon, Murari Roberts, wearing his usual suit, walked out of the luxurious faculty building.

The students he met along the way greeted him with respectful smiles, and Murari Roberts nodded and smiled as he walked by.

He leisurely walked into the campus's inner parking lot, opened the car door, and sat in an older-looking car with a style reminiscent of the last century.

The car was a Mustang Boss 429, produced only in 1969 and 1970, each one very precious.

After placing his briefcase on the passenger seat, Murari Roberts fastened his seatbelt, pondered for a few seconds, and pulled out his phone to dial a number.

The call was quickly connected, and Murari Roberts said:

"Good afternoon, old buddy."

"Not good at all, Roberts."

An equally elderly voice came from the phone, sounding rather displeased:

"I've told you before that Luo An Greenwood is quite exceptional, a very talented individual.

Such talent is more suitable for recruitment, to have him work for us, rather than deliberately targeting!"

The voice from the phone had a scolding tone, but Murari Roberts didn't get angry, smiling and saying:

"What you said makes a lot of sense, which is why I gave you this call, isn't it?"

The person on the other end paused and asked:

"What do you mean?"

"Old game, good cop bad cop."

Murari Roberts said with a faint smile:

"I've played the bad cop role, and that Kennedy kid came to my place today to take away the game prize.

Next, it's your turn to step in as the good cops."

"Roberts, have you been teaching so much your brain has turned to mush?"

The person on the other end was so amused they laughed, saying coldly:

"Your side just had people make a move on Luo An Greenwood not long ago, and he saw through it. Do you think he'll join us?"

"Precisely because I had people make a move on him that he would join us."

Murari Roberts calmly explained:

"The fact that the Kennedy kid came to me for negotiations implies they don't intend to get too entangled in this matter and plan to focus more on future events.

But Luo An Greenwood is a young man, characterized by being easily swayed by emotions. He can't swallow this grievance, and even if he forces himself to, he'd still have a grudge against Maximilian and the others.

The people I sent showed Luo An Greenwood a glimpse of our omnipresent power. The "good cops" like you come out, reprimand "bad cops" like me, and promise Luo An Greenwood some benefits. What do you think he'll choose?"

After a long silence, the voice on the other end said:

"Luo An Greenwood is a smart person."

Murari Roberts chuckled:

"Smart people tend to think more and are also more greedy."
