Chapter 21: Blood Dantian
CHAPTER 21: BLOOD DANTIAN
Tempering the liver was quite difficult.
After all, Liu Wei imagined many scenarios, where he was tested about his patience, restraining his killing urges, controlling his wrath, as his physique tried to take over his brain and control the scenario.
Liu Wei felt so uncomfortable throughout, fighting the urges until he coughed out black blood once again.
He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and exhaled.
It was now time to temper his kidneys.
According to the Blood Demon Heart Sutra, the kidney governs vitality and essence.
By practicing the Blood Refinement Breathing, the demonic qi would burn his lifeforce.
However, by tempering the kidneys that way, his body would no longer wither prematurely.
Hence, without hesitation, Liu Wei tempered his kidneys, causing him to cough out blood once again.
He felt his lifeforce slowly slip away, but at the same time, it also strengthened his body, for some reason, as it recovered.
It was such a bizarre feeling that made Liu Wei furrow his eyebrows and shake his head.
It was now time to temper the last organ—the stomach.
The stomach was associated with greed and hunger.
Thus, the Sutra would force him to absorb excessive qi/medicinal energy without exploding.
In fact, his Demonheart Origin Body could already absorb endless amounts of qi, especially through food, while barely feeling them.
By tempering his stomach in this way, Liu Wei would be able to handle an excessive amount of demonic qi, or killing qi and battle qi, without losing himself.
At this moment, Liu Wei knew he might have to spend two weeks to reach the peak of the Qi Condensation Stage according to the sutra.
However, it might be shortened if he devoted all his time to it...
...
Liu Wei spent three days getting rid of the cultivation techniques he practiced, as he replaced them with the Blood Demonheart Sutra.
The System already updated his status, having the Blood Demonheart Sutra as the only cultivation technique in the cultivation technique section.
At the same time, staring at the martial arts he learned, he knew he would have to change them as he would practice martials arts in the Mystic Rank that should be suitable to his cultivation technique.
At the moment, he was still sitting in the same seat, but there was no bucket below him.
After all, he was now able to temper his organs without having to cough out black blood.
Liu Wei was currently ruminating.
Now that my path in martial arts is clear, I think I have to focus on the sword for now since it’s the only weapon I have with the Minor Completion in Dao. I should find sword techniques that complement the cultivation technique I’m cultivating.
The library was not vast.
In fact, Liu Wei doubted if the library has it all—depending on the rank he has access to, of course.
However, he asked the System before how the library possessed the book that everybody wanted.
She simply replied that the library would update the book, depending on what the living beings inside the library were looking for at the moment.
Since he was the only living being, and he already disregarded unorthodox martial arts before, he barely spotted them in the past.
Now, he would not be surprised if the martial arts section would be filled with demonic arts.
For now, he had to restrain his urges to learn sword techniques on the Mystic Rank, as it was now the right time to condense his dantian.
In the orthodox style, a cultivator would have to open their meridians, temper them, before forming their dantian.
It was to allow smooth qi circulation before opening their dantian, which would serve as qi sea reservoir.
A normal cultivator has twelve primary meridians, eight extra meridians, and 360 up to 720 smaller meridians.
Which and how many of them had to be opened highly depended on the cultivation technique.
In other words, choosing a cultivation technique to ascend in the Qi Condensation Stage meant setting their future martial path.
In the orthodox style, the primary meridians have to be opened first before forming their dantian.
The Blood Demonheart Sutra worked otherwise.
Liu Wei has to condense his Blood Dantian first, followed by primary meridians—-Crimson Core Chains as described by the Blood Demonheart Sutra—then the extra meridians, or the Organ Shackles, and the smaller meridians, which were the Peripheral Chains, containing only sixty of them.
For him to finally ascend in the Qi Condensation Stage, he has to form his Blood Dantian first.
Blood Dantian stored Blood Qi instead of Demonic Qi. Even then, Blood Qi is a specialized variant of demonic qi cultivated from vital blood essence.
It was definitely suitable for his physique, which was filled more with bloodlust.
After Liu Wei tempered his body and finally realized it was now suitable to form the Blood Dantian.
His heart was now stronger than normal—he was confident it would be able to withstand demonic qi infusion without rupturing.
Without hesitation, he sat cross-legged and closed his eyes, meditating.
According to the Blood Demonheart Sutra, he had to be in an environment where blood was concentrated—the floor, the ceiling, the wall, must be soaked with blood—or in a slaughter aura-rich environment...
In other words, in the field where corpses were everywhere—like the aftermath of the war.
Thankfully, his physique was already rich in demonic qi, to begin with.
It should suffice.
Although the Blood Demonheart Sutra was more suitable to those cultivators with physique like him, it was still suitable for physique with much lower levels.
Hence, there were many conditions.
Thankfully, his physique was a primordial rank.
Now, to begin the forming of his dantian, it must start with visualization.
He was now visualizing a blood-red lotus blooming on his chest.
Every petal represents life essence being offered to the Demonheart.
The life essence used were the five cultivators Liu Wei killed before.
They remained inside his body as he personally took them down.
Although it was not enough, what mattered was there was a life essence being offered to the Demonheart.
While he was visualizing, Liu Wei now has to recite the Demonheart Incantation to synchronize consciousness with blood flow.
He whispered.
"Shaa’grel Vorr’na Thaal... Dren’kash Oruu’Lath... Naeg’rath Vurr’kor Daam..."
(Hear the heart of crimson, Devour the breath of dawn, Let blood reign as the eternal throne.)
