Legendary Librarian System
Chapter 31: Blood Sword Arts
CHAPTER 31: BLOOD SWORD ARTS
He asked the System, ’If I learn a Peak Mystic Sword Arts, will the previous martial arts on the Yellow rank be erased?’
The System replied.
[Yes, it will be erased in your status since it’s a martial art less effective than your current rank. But, you can still execute it. It’s just that, the system’s information will focus on the updated version.]
Liu Wei nodded.
After all, he was planning to learn other martial arts aside from sword.
But, at the moment, he felt it would be better to focus on the sword for now since he has the Minor Completion Stage on its Dao Comprehension.
Since he could not practice Alchemy since he had to let his Qi flow stabilized at the moment by giving it some time, Liu Wei decided to learn sword techniques on the Mystic rank.
After all, he could not forget he offended a rather famous individual since he was able to hire four cultivators to visit him.
He would not be surprised that his parents would come towards him, bringing stronger cultivators.
He had to prepare.
After all, the System already made herself clear.
Unless the library would be in danger, she would not make a move.
In other words, she forced Liu Wei to learn martial arts to protect himself.
He could not be cooped up in the library.
The System wanted him to learn about the outside too, by exploring.
As his train of thoughts arrived towards the System’s intention towards him, considering going outside, the System seemed to have sensed it as her voice echoed in his head.
[You don’t have to worry about the customers if you are going outside in the future. You won’t be flocked with customers, either. This library is governed by fate. It’s only those fated to come here who will become your customer.]
Liu Wei was stunned.
He mumbled.
"Fate, huh... I really don’t like it. How its hands are molding me to become who I am and where I want to be."
The System snorted.
[You are not governed by fate. What I’m saying is that your future customers are fated to come here. It’s their fate, not yours. In fact, it will be you who will weave their fate.]
Liu Wei was stunned.
He chuckled.
"That’s good to know."
He stood up and walked towards the Martial Arts section.
The library seemed to be small.
But once an individual entered one of the sections of the library, they would seem to be hallucinating.
After all, it appeared that the narrow hallway, where the walls were the library shelves, seemed to be unending.
That was one of the mysteries of the library.
Hence, in the martial arts section, it all contained different martial arts—sword, spear, archery, fists, sound, and more.
As though the library itself knew what he was looking for, there were already demonic sword arts in the two library shelves near him before he was able to enter.
He swept his gaze and realized they were all at the Mystic rank—their minor grades varied.
Without hesitation, Liu Wei chose the peak Mystic rank.
Of course, there were differences between minor grades.
The higher the minor grades, the higher the difficulty of comprehending it.
The conditions of executing it were more demanding, too.
Nevertheless, the peak grade was the most powerful since it was the highest minor grade.
As for comprehension requirements... Liu Wei was not just a librarian, he was an avid reader, so comprehending was not difficult for him.
In another part, an orthodox sword art, he also discovered the mystic rank version of his current sword art, the Falling Leaf Blade.
He mumbled, "Thousand Petal Sword Dance."
Just imagining himself executing such sword techniques made him appreciate beauty.
However, he had to dismiss it.
After all, he had to learn demonic sword art.
He shook his head and focused on demonic sword arts in front of him.
Demonic martial arts still has many branches.
Blood Arts, using blood essence as fuel, enhancing attack power or healing. Often involve self-harm or enemy blood absorption to amplify strength.
Corpse & Bone Arts, using corpses, bones, or skeletal Qi to empower strikes. Often infused with decay, poison, or corpse aura.
Shadow & Assassination Arts, relying on stealth, illusions, and killing intent. Attacks from unseen angles, perfect for assassins and killers.
Soul & Fear Arts, using soul power, fear, and demonic aura to weaken enemies mentally. Often inflict hallucinations, terror, or soul wounds.
Poison & Venom Arts, combining physical attacks with poisons or corrosive Qi. Strikes cause lingering death rather than immediate kills.
Beast & Berserk Arts, mimicking demonic beasts or invoke their essence. Usually transform the body into something feral and unstoppable during battle.
Lastly, Self-Mutilation, or better to be called Forbidden Arts. The cultivator gains immediate power at a terrible cost, like lifespan, sanity, organs. Most feared among demonic sects because of their explosiveness.
Liu Wei chose Blood Arts since it greatly complemented his Blood Demonheart Sutra.
Then, he focused on the part where it was all about Blood Sword Arts.
He grabbed one of the books, not too thick nor too thin, and read it.
"Crimson Severing Flow.
Channel blood essence into your blade to create a flowing arc of crimson energy.
Each slash releases a crescent wave of blood Qi, slicing through multiple foes. When the wave absorbs spilled blood, it grows stronger and sharper.
Once mastered, it creates an endless flowing river of blood Qi that devours all in its path."
He randomly chose it, for how intriguing the name on the side of the cover, and yet he already decided to practice it.
Then, he grabbed another.
"Thousand Veins Bloodlash.
It turns sword Qi into countless threads of blood energy.
A single slash fragments into hundreds of blood tendrils that lash and cut everything within range.
It is hard to block; even if the main slash is parried, the blood threads slice through gaps in defense."
Liu Wei frowned.
He read the back of the book, where it contained pretty much all about it.
He mumbled.
"Hundreds of blood tendrils? It’s a bit disgusting, isn’t it?"
[Hump! How narrow-minded. It might be the craft sword art you might have.]
Liu Wei rolled his eyes and said, "You really won’t waste a chance to insult me, do you?"
