Chapter 46: The King’s Visit
CHAPTER 46: THE KING’S VISIT
The perfect duplicate’s eyes were lackluster for a moment before they regained clarity and it finally moved.
It turned towards the King and smiled at him.
The King wore an unbothered expression as he said, "You will replace me for the next three days."
The duplicate nodded and waited beside him.
The King smiled and stood up, descending on the stairs, walking towards his son.
The duplicate, meanwhile, sat on his throne and made a posture very similar to him.
His expression was perfectly delivered.
The Crown Prince smiled and waited for his father to create a duplicate.
He glanced at the hand-mirror, pondering.
It’s a Mystic Treasure rank artifact. Only the royal family knows about this. Not even Uncle Qiao Long.
Eventually, another duplicate was made and it smiled at him, then walked outside.
His father, the King, then invited him to a secret chamber, so they could sneak outside the palace tomorrow.
Of course, he had to wait until the sun had risen.
...
Liu Wei completed the second stage the whole night.
He woke up when he realized the sun already shone through the entrance of the library.
He smiled.
He finished Stage 2—kindling the verdant flame.
He opened more meridian points—on the stomach, spleen, and kidneys.
As a result, Qi naturally refined into Verdant Flame, which was capable of gentle heating instead of wild burning.
A flame perfect for an alchemist.
Of course, it was only possible after his lower dantian was fully formed, acting as a vessel that could hold the Verdant Flame.
"Profilic Dantian. What a strange name."
That was what Master Wen Ruo described as the dantian that was fully formed after cultivating the Verdant Cauldron Sutra.
Now, Liu Wei was ready to cultivate the Stage 3, but his stomach grumbled.
He smiled awkwardly.
After all, it has been days since he had eaten.
Without hesitation, he entered the Agricultural Domain, picked the vegetables and rice he harvested, and finally brought them to the library.
After all, his kitchen was inside the library.
Furthermore, he preferred to eat inside the library rather than inside the Agricultural Domain.
He was afraid that a customer might have decided not to enter since the librarian was absent.
According to his father, as business owner, he must be present at all times.
Thus, it explained why he rarely had time for his family.
Anyway, he followed the work ethics of his father, and thus, even eating must happen inside the library.
As Liu Wei finished cooking the broth, which was now in the pot, and had cooked the rice, he clasped his hands and thanked God for the food.
He then grabbed the spoon and ate wholeheartedly.
However, a minute later, as he was still enjoying his meal, two silhouettes appeared in the entrance.
Liu Wei immediately gazed at the door and was stunned to see two cloaked people, standing in front, seemingly waiting to be invited.
He frowned.
Why do they always like to appear in the library with a cloak on?
He believed it should be the King now, and perhaps his personal guard, but remembering that even Cai Hui appeared with a cloak, concealing herself from head to toe, he doubted it.
He tried to recall if it would be his past customers.
Nevertheless, instead of dwelling on the identity of the two people, he immediately stood up and gestured for them to enter.
He said, "Come, come. Join me for breakfast. I know you two still have not eaten yet."
The two people glanced at each other and then turned towards Liu Wei, nodding.
They then entered the library.
While they were walking towards Liu Wei, they slowly unveiled their masks, and Liu Wei was stunned.
He quickly smiled and said, "Oh, you already came back Crown Prince. You’re too early."
He then gazed at the other person and his eyes widened.
Even a fool would discern that the face of the other person was similar to the Crown Prince.
In other words, it was easy to assume that it was the King, the father of the Crown Prince.
Liu Wei instantly stood up and bowed deeply, saying, "I am deeply honored to be visited by the King."
The King smiled at him and said, "I am likewise deeply honored to visit your library, Liu Wei."
Liu Wei smiled.
It appeared that the Crown Prince already shared information about him towards the King.
How else would the king know of his name?
Liu Wei nodded at the King and lifted his head, gesturing towards the other seats.
He said, "Please seat, King, Crown Prince. I will grab a bowl and spoon. Please join me for breakfast."
The King and the Crown Prince nodded, sitting at the seat beside each other.
The Crown Prince was on the side where Liu Wei’s seat was on his left and his father’s seat was on his right.
He glanced at Liu Wei and smiled, as the latter turned around and hastily vanished to grab two bowls and a spoon.
The Crown Prince and the King glanced at each other and then turned their attention to the opened pot, permeating the broth’s aroma.
Their eyes widened as they heard their stomach growls.
They glanced at each other and remained silent, not knowing what to say.
They simply waited for Liu Wei to return.
However, they had similar thoughts in their mind.
The quality of the food... It’s infinitely better than the imperials’ foods!
Liu Wei returned in less than ten breaths, bringing two bowls and two spoons with him.
He respectfully placed the bowl and spoon in front of the King and the Crown Prince and sat on his seat.
He gestured for them to begin filling their bowls.
He said, "I hope the rice and broth will be enough."
"It is, Liu Wei." The Crown Prince smiled, trying to assure Liu Wei.
However, a minute later, as they suddenly devoured every grain of rice and drop of broth, the King and the Crown Prince glanced at each other in shock.
They failed to control themselves the moment they tasted the rice and soup.
In the end, they swallowed them like a glutton, as though they were at war...
