Leisurely Farm Life in Beast World
Chapter 18, Xiu Yan Is Injured_1
CHAPTER 18: CHAPTER 18, XIU YAN IS INJURED_1
Ji Nuan was struggling to get up, but her body was devoid of strength. Her legs and arms were constantly oozing blood, making every movement extremely difficult.
In the distant woods, the faint roars of the Sharp Teeth Beasts could be heard. A great number of them were gathering here. A very anxious big tiger - Song Yu - was pacing anxiously around Ji Nuan. But Ji Nuan, with her weak hands and feet, simply couldn’t stand up.
She was truly useless.
The feeling of helplessness that overwhelmed her body made Ji Nuan’s eyes well up with tears. She bit her lip tightly, trying desperately to mobilize her body’s strength.
But her hands, which were supporting her on the ground, felt as if they were pressing on a sponge; they couldn’t muster any strength at all. It was just a scrape, so why had she lost sensation?
"Arooo!" Xiu Yan let out a high and sharp wolf howl, transforming back into his Orc persona. One of his beastly wolf claws plunged into the chest of a Sharp Teeth Beast in front of him, allowing its fresh blood to dye his arm red.
Taking advantage of the moment when the Sharp Teeth Beasts were taken aback by the wolf howl, he broke out of the beast herd. His long legs started to run, not a bit slower than his Orc PR persona.
The hair on his beast-transformed arm retreated, and the muscular palm picked up Ji Nuan, who was still struggling on the ground, throwing her over his shoulder.
"Go!" His voice was cold and low.
The pain in her stomach and the shame of being a burden finally made Ji Nuan’s tears flow. She was slumped over Xiu Yan’s shoulder, her tears falling onto the constantly retreating shrubbery as he ran.
Ji Nuan had no idea how long they’d been running. The scenery around them was unfamiliar, but the three Orcs running seemed to know the area well.
Only when they could no longer hear the calls of the Sharp Teeth Beasts behind them did the beasts finally stop by a river.
Feeling dizzy, Ji Nuan was placed on the ground by Xiu Yan. Only when she touched the ground did she realize that she had completely lost feeling in her arms and legs, even more so than before.
At first, she thought she went limp out of fear, but now she realized it wasn’t that simple.
She panicked instantly. The pounding of her heart echoed in her ears, leaving her feeling dizzy. Surely she hadn’t become paralysed from a fall?
"Brother Xiu Yan, you’re wounded!"
Ge Ye’s cry of surprise jarred Ji Nuan out of her panic. She lifted her gaze to the tall Orc standing beside her.
Xiu Yan was leaning against a tree, his good-looking lips pressed tightly together, wolf-like eyes calm and deep, his forehead covered with fine beads of sweat obscured by silver broken hair.
There was a gory wound on his arm near the elbow. Bloody, gory flesh gaped open, fresh blood dripping down his left arm onto the grass beside Ji Nuan.
Looking at the man’s unruffled demeanor, she was taken aback. This male had run for so long carrying her with one injured arm. Didn’t it hurt?
Ji Nuan glanced at Ge Ye and her two partners.
"Little Ye Zi, can your Song Yu give me a lift? My arms and legs are currently numb. Brother Xiu Yan is badly wounded, we need to get back to the tribe quickly to find Grandma Shaman."
Ge Ye wiped away her tears, bit her lip, then climbed onto Di Feng’s back: "Shan Zaizai, come and sit on Di Feng’s back with me, let Song Yu carry Brother Xiu Yan."
"No need, I can manage on my own."
Xiu Yan looked at Ji Nuan, turned around, and started walking.
Song Yu looked at Ge Ye before transforming into his Orc persona under the urging of his partner. He then hoisted Ji Nuan onto his shoulder.
The Orcs ran fast and even the injured Xiu Yan was not the least bit slower.
The tribe was in the midst of handling their hunt when the Orcs arrived. The injuries of Xiu Yan and Ji Nuan caused quite an uproar in the tribe.
