Leisurely Farm Life in Beast World
Chapter 23, Hope_1
CHAPTER 23: CHAPTER 23, HOPE_1
Ji Nuan retracted her petite paw, stood up, and took a few deep breaths, reining in her fiery little temper.
She first poked her head out to look at Ge Rou busily working in another cave, then turned her gaze to the tall orc standing to one side.
"Brother Xiu Yan, um... I might be able to heal your arm, but I’ve never done it before, I don’t know how well it will work. Would you be willing to give it a try?" She asked hesitantly.
Upon hearing her say that she might be able to heal his arm, Xiu Yan quickly lifted his head to look at her, with a storm brewing in his eyes.
"What method?" His voice was cool and calm, no emotions traceable.
Ji Nuan shot him a somewhat nervous glance, murmuring, "Actually, I was planning on telling you in the next couple of days. I didn’t expect your wound to heal so quickly."
Xiu Yan raised an eyebrow, the look in his eyes signaled Ji Nuan to continue.
"My idea is to reposition your broken bones, fixate them with sticks, and it would be best to have the medicines that Grandma Shaman had yesterday to help the healing process."
"My wound has healed." Xiu Yan lifted his slightly throbbing arm.
"Only the external wound has healed, but your bone is still broken.
So now, we need to re-break the bone at the spot where it is injured and then set it again."
Ji Nuan looked somewhat worried as she finished. She knew what to do, but had never actually done it.
"Set the bone?" This little filly always spoke words that he had never heard before.
"It means to put the broken bone back to its place before it got broken." Ji Nuan explained, somewhat unsure of herself.
She wasn’t a shaman, and she didn’t know if he would trust her or not!
"Ok, when?"
Wait, did he just agree?
"You said okay?" Ji Nuan cautiously observed Xiu Yan’s expression.
Xiu Yan, looking down at her dirty little face, turned away uncomfortably, a hint of struggle flashing in his eyes. "Um...cough—before the procedure, could you perhaps take a bath?"
Ji Nuan: "..."
How much do you despise my hygiene, handsome Xiu Yan?
"It’s not that I don’t want to bathe, but Grandma Shaman said I’ve only just stopped having a fever, so I shouldn’t go in the river." Ji Nuan responded through gritted teeth.
Xiu Yan’s face turned somewhat awkward, "Okay, then let’s wait until you can take a bath in a few days to fix your arm."
Even though he understood why this little filly wasn’t washing, it didn’t mean he could bear the touch of such a dirty little thing.
"Or you could ask an orc to help me make something so I can bathe today, then I can start on your arm tomorrow."
These Silver Wolf Orcs surely have a case of cleanliness OCD.
Without saying a word, Xiu Yan turned and walked out of the cave.
Ji Nuan shrugged her small shoulders and turned to inspect her new neighbor’s cave.
The cave was about as large as her own, around 50 square meters. At the deepest part of the cave was a layer of dry grass, covered by several layers of beast skin which looked soft and made Ji Nuan want to lie down on them.
Just as she was about to do so, footsteps echoed from outside the cave. Ji Nuan looked towards the sound and saw Xiu Yan striding back into the cave, followed by another tall male with golden hair.
Upon entering the cave, Lei Er’s eyes scanned Ji Nuan from head to toe like a radar scanner, then he turned to his companion with a speechless expression.
Lei Er: Brother, I never knew you had such unique tastes.
