CHAPTER 43: THE SECOND TEST
The second test
42
"I have three tests for you, if you pass one of them I will consider you fit to move on to the next room and I will also answer your questions."
The words sounded like ocean breezes, giving Alex the illusion that overcoming such trials might be possible and not so difficult.
"What will be the content of your test, Mr. Eleventh?"
"Considering your weak skills, I have prepared a simple test for you."
The eleventh knight of the round table raised his delicate hands and a star that shone blue floated in his hands.
"If you can retire from this star, you will not only get a stellar promotion in your authority, but you will also pass my test, isn’t that simple?" The eleventh flashed a smile that would melt the heart of any maiden in Camelot.
"Sounds simple," Alex said, nodding.
Taking advantage of the moment when the eleventh looked away from one of his arts, Alex used lightning step and tried to usurp the star.
The tenth only moved an inch, but it was enough for Alex to fail in his surprise attack.
"Ho! I don’t remember telling you to start, well since you’re already here, move on" the words suggest a deep boredom as if Alex’s attitude was expected.
Alex ’s base agility was now an incredible 74 points, just moving in base form, he was incredibly fast.
Alex’s 24 dexterity points gave him good hand-eye coordination, and he made use of his incredible speed and dexterity, however, it didn’t matter how fast he was.
The eleventh moved just at the exact moment Alex would reach the star, at no point did he move too fast or too slow, his movements were precise and accurate.
In other words, Alex was infinitely close to reaching the star, but no matter how many times he tried, he never reached it.
He could see it, feel it and smell it, his mind told him that this time he would catch it, but the next second, he failed again, this action repeated itself over and over again.
Alex had to step back to reflect, the thirteenth’s eyes were fixed on his art, this meant he was confident enough that Alex would never be able to catch him.
With just a thought, Excalibur was in Alex’s hands, as always the notification was in his ears and then a window opened before his eyes.

You have equipped Excalibur.

Alex’s hair flowed over a shade of purple that lightly covered it.
He felt a surge of power coursing through his body along with the electricity surrounding him.
It wasn’t just his attributes that increased, his confidence also rose, his agility was at 84 and his dexterity at 34, he also used gravitational control to move faster.
A smile formed on his face, Alex could feel the star in his hands, what would the eleventh say after that? Alex would pass his test on his first attempt.
"Time? Your confidence has increased, show me what you’re capable of." The eyes that contained the ocean slowly moved to Alex.
Alex felt his bones crackle with a start, his aura exploded coated in electricity that snaked through his body, he moved so fast that there was an afterimage that remained there without disappearing for a microsecond.
Of course, this effect would only be produced before ordinary human eyes, Alex felt as if everything was slowing down, the world around him flowed a little slower than normal.
Alex had never reached this speed before, there was surprise as he ran towards the star.
Hands touched the star, Alex positioned himself behind the tenth and said.
"It wasn’t that hard to pass your test, and you still say I would die?" There was a certain arrogance in Alex’s words.
"Really? How did you pass?" The tenth looked at Alex with an amused look on his face.
Alex opened his fist to discover that there was no star in his hands, before he could be surprised, he saw his attributes drop 10 points, when he saw in his other hand his sword was gone.
"Who would have thought that arrogant Merlin also makes rubbish, is this the rubbish you got in the first room?"
The tenth’s words carried a disdain that surpassed the vastness of the ocean.
"How did you do that?" Alex asked, genuinely surprised.
Alex didn’t see the eleventh knight’s movements, he was so fast, no, it wasn’t just about speed, something else was used.
" What ? You don’t have eyes? How could you not see something so simple, the eleventh revealed his beautiful white teeth.
"Could you explain it to me, please? It was a skill, wasn’t it?"
"Skill? Do you think I’d use a skill to deal with a mere avatar of a king? No. I just used a simple movement technique, something I used to escape the Old Man’s spells."
As he said this, a sense of nostalgia passed before the blue eyes of the eleventh knight of the round table.
"Could you teach me your technique?" Alex’s eyes shone with anticipation. If he learned such a technique, he would be able to take greater advantage of his attributes, dexterity, and agility.
Alex was strong, stronger than several hunters of the same general and stellar level, but it all came down to higher attribute numbers, his sword Excalibur and his class.
"Aren’t you a king? Shouldn’t you create your own techniques or simply copy the ones you like? It seems the world has changed a lot since the destruction of Camelot. At that time, King Arthur wouldn’t have asked for something absurd like that."
"How could I create a technique or imitate something I didn’t see properly?" The eleventh sighed, placing his middle finger on his temple.
"I won’t teach you anything, even if you are just an avatar, it is still the dignity of a King that is at stake and I am just a humble knight, at most I will suggest a few things."
"Pay attention, you failed the first of my tests, but there are still two attempts, would you like to return to the god’s dream or do you wish to proceed to the second test?"
Alex didn’t need to think, if he returns, only death awaits him and his companions belonging to the blue spirit, even if they tried to escape, there would be some casualties.
"I’d like to try again now." Alex’s gaze seemed firm.
The eleventh knight shook his head in regret for such an implication, in his eyes there was no way Alex could pass his test, he had been kind enough to remind him of that fact.
"Alex, are you sure about your choice?" In response, Alex just nodded.
"Very well, if you land a hit on me you pass, but if you fail you will fail the next test. Do you accept?"
"What do you mean, if I fail the second time, I’ll fail the third time too? Isn’t that a bit unfair?" Dissatisfaction could be sensed in Alex’s words.
"Unfair? You can think it’s unfair if you like, but I’m the one who makes the rules here, and the third test depends on my mood, and you just messed up, so if you don’t pass now, it’s over."
The eleventh held Excalibur with both hands, a chilling aura emanated from them with minimal effort sounds of breaking metal were heard, Alex almost freaked out when he saw what was happening.
Excalibur was shattered into several pieces as if it were made of glass.
"What did you do? You broke it."
Alex ended up picking up the pieces of what used to be his sword. He felt like a piece of his heart was ripped out.
When he fought wielding Excalibur, Alex could feel the sword pulsing, helping him in battle. It wasn’t exactly a voice, but somehow Alex heard it.
It wasn’t long, he had Excalibur for only a week, but Alex felt like they were companions for life and now it was broken, anger filled his eyes, his heart ached.
"Are you mad that I broke that piece of junk?" The tenth looked amused as he saw Alex’s eyes.
"You can see it as a sword, but for me, it is an extension of my soul." Alex didn’t know where he got those words from, but from what I feel at this moment, that was what he should have said , the words reflected his feelings.
For a while he stood there looking at the pieces of the sword, it was then that his eyes turned to look at the thirteenth knight of the round table.
For a second what he saw shocked him greatly, crystalline, almost translucent tears slowly ran down the eleventh’s cheeks, when he felt Alex’s gaze, the tears receded, slowly returning to his eyes.
What the hell was that, Alex could only think this way.
"Who would have thought that you would hear the same words, having done exactly the same thing in a completely different time and from another person, but with the same destiny?"
The tenth was lost in his own world, murmuring meaningless words into Alex’s ears.
"Alex, you’re lucky. I’m an artist. My decisions are made as I feel , until a worthy king claims my will. And you just improved my mood."
He looked toward the center of the room and nodded slowly.
"I already know what I’m going to do here, what moment I should preserve." It was then that he remembered what he was doing.
"Sorry. Nostalgia made you put your business aside, you can attack now."
The tenth looked at Alex, he seemed impatient and would dispatch the avatar at any moment, he kept looking at the center of the room contemplatively.
Alex moved using the maximum of his authority, his aura exploded in an instant, he just needed to land one blow, he decided to go all out from the start.
Suddenly the figure of the tenth disappeared and something happened, Alex’s body was hit so hard and so fast that he couldn’t realize what had happened, he flew a great distance crashing into the wall on the other side of the room.
"Damn, did I kill him by accident?" The tenth approached to see Alex’s body.
