Leveling Endlessly With My Harem
Chapter 62: Permission
CHAPTER 62: PERMISSION
Max had wanted to do a lot of things with Stelle and had prepared himself, but she told him that she needed some time to prepare herself.
It was already a big thing for her to get a boyfriend, and she wanted them to get to know each other better before they crossed the final step.
They had met just a few days ago, and while there was a spark between them and they liked each other, they barely knew each other.
Well, Max could also see that she was a little scared by how fast things were developing, and he was fine with giving her enough time to settle down.
So, after they enjoyed their time in the skytram for almost two hours, they decided to head back reluctantly.
Apparently, Charlotte found out about her running off, so she had called her back. The only reason they got this much time off was because she knew Stelle was with him.
As they walked in the woods in the dead of night, Stelle said, "Let’s keep this a secret from Big Sis. If she knew we are dating, she will surely distance herself from you because of me."
"Does that mean you’re all good with me pursuing her?" Max smiled, still holding her hand.
"I don’t have any other choice, dummy. I don’t want to get separated from her so it’s best if we share the same man," Stelle spoke begrudgingly. "Besides, I need her to gain an upper hand in keeping your needs to ourselves."
"Hehe, I’ll be waiting for the day you two satisfy my needs," Max grinned at her but earned a tight pinch on his belly. "Ouch! You’re the one who said that first."
Stelle just harrumphed and looked away.
They walked in silence for a while, enjoying each other’s company in peace.
’Oh! I completely forgot about the cookies Aunt Melissa packed,’ Max thought and was going to take out the packet when Kafka warned him.
[Don’t bother. They have a light amount of aphrodisiac. It isn’t enough to intoxicate anyone but the effects will still be there.]
’Damnation, indeed! She really was expecting a wild night, wasn’t she?’ Max’s lips twitched as he forgot any thoughts of taking out cookies.
[Weren’t you thinking the same?]
Max found no reason to answer it, so he ignored her and said to Stelle, "I’m sorry, but if I knew it was your birthday then I would have brought some gifts."
"You already gave me the best gift," Stelle chuckled softly and showed him her hand where she wore the silver-chained bracelet. "Along with your company, this is also one of the best gifts I’ve truly received."
It wasn’t like she had actually received many gifts, but he didn’t need to know that.
"Heh, I had to search around a lot for these," Max said, looking at his own hand where a similar bracelet was attached to his wrist.
They were called "Soulmates" and were a fine piece of art. Not only that, they also reacted in each other’s company, especially the flame inside the gem.
Most importantly, they could sense the life force of their wearer and alert the other counterpart in emergencies.
Of course, the main reason he chose them was because of their beauty.
They finally reached the back side of the Main Keep where they found a lone figure waiting for them. She wore a dark cloak, so they couldn’t see her face, but both knew her identity.
"Once again, Happy Birthday," Max whispered under his breath.
"Thanks. Thanks for everything," Stelle muttered and stepped forward. "But remember one thing, getting her won’t be easy."
"I will handle your clan, so don’t worry," Max smiled.
Charlotte finally spotted them and waved her hand as they got closer. She sighed in relief, "You two should have at least told me. Do you even know how worried I was?"
"Hehe, you should have expected something like this when you guys imprisoned me in the Main Keep," Stelle flashed a silly smile before hugging her sister tightly.
Charlotte slapped her arm and scolded, "Do this one more time and I won’t join you in the Labyrinth Diving."
"What!? You can’t do that!" Stelle looked horrified as she went down on her legs and hugged Charlotte’s legs. "Please, forgive me Big Sis. I’ll make sure to inform you first before doing anything."
She shot a pleading look to Max, who just looked away while whistling. She gritted her teeth and thought, ’This man...who abandons their girlfriend on the night they got together? I’ll have my revenge!’
"Fine, fine, now stand up. We need to leave before anyone notices our absence," Charlotte said and then turned towards Max.
She hesitated for a while before saying, "Thank you for taking care of her. I’m really happy you took her out."
"No problem, I also advanced to Silver-Rank so I wanted to celebrate too," Max smiled and said. "It’s a shame you didn’t join us though."
"That’s really fast," Charlotte’s voice carried her surprise, "why don’t we celebrate once we can dive again? Oh yeah, regarding the opening of Labyrinth. It’ll open tomorrow but the Third floor will open on 31st."
"Noice! I guess I’ll meet you guys at the Labyrinth Entrance then," Max said as he turned.
"Bye! Good night!" Charlotte waved her hand lightly and Stelle did the same while sending a wink at him.
After he was gone, the two sisters decided to head back.
"He knew about your birthday?" Charlotte asked, having arrived on the conclusion long ago.
"I think so too, but he denied it," Stelle nodded. "Whatever the reason! I enjoyed his company a lot."
"Weren’t you against him?" Charlotte raised an eyebrow and asked.
"He’s annoying but also fun. I haven’t enjoyed this much since the time we went to the Confistan Park," Stelle was all smiles as she walked beside her sister.
A pang of guilt rose in Charlotte’s heart as she said, "I’m sorry. I tried my best to find a way out but the Elders used everything to keep me there. I really wished we could have celebrated together."
"It’s fine, Big Sis. I have you and that’s the biggest gift and celebration for me," Stelle smiled sweetly as she stopped and gave her sister a tight hug. "So, thank you for always being there for me."
Charlotte smiled as well and hugged her back, while thinking about how happy Stelle seemed because of Max.
’He really is amazing!’
