CHAPTER 88: CHAOTIC THOUGHTS

After a few hours of tiring farming of exp and mana shards, the cohort retreated back to rest. They decided to call it a day because they were simply too exhausted to continue.

It was especially true for Charlotte who had run out of her mana. She was known for her dense and immense mana pool in the novel so it showed how much they had worked.

Max was also exhausted, so much that he slumped on the bed after they made the tent.

Fortunately, Charlotte had brought an Artefact which could store a lot of water so they didn’t have to worry about that.

So, after taking a bath to cleanse the sweat and blood, the two of them slept soundly.

As for Stelle, she was left to stand guard and also prepare some food for them. She wasn’t the best person for this, but they had no other choice.

She also had no problem with it as she had seen how much the two of them contributed to her advancement.

All of the mana shards were absorbed by her, making her level once and bring her very close to the Level 3 of silver rank.

Thinking of how she had almost crossed three levels in just one day, Stelle didn’t know what to say for the situation.

After all, many people took months to pass the Silver Rank. There was a reason most participants in the First Selections were of Silver Rank with age limit being 18-20.

Majority of them reached Silver Rank after a month of awakening and took more time in advance to the Gold Rank.

Just from this, it was clear that once Stelle went out of the Labyrinth, she would be hailed as a prodigy on an Empire level.

Only those monsters of Imperial City and those of Saint Land has this Monstrous talent to level up so fast.

But she knew her advancement had mostly nothing to do with her talent. She was just leveling fast because her teammates didn’t take her mana shards.

In a normal team, all of the mana shards would be shared, making the progress very slow for everyone.

In her team, Charlotte was already Level 7 so these Mana Shards wouldn’t be of much use to her and while Max could use them, he gave it all to her so she could advance at the same rate as him.

Thinking of Max, a smile formed on her lips.

Everything had changed once he arrived in her life. Not only was she progressing fast in power, she was also having a lot of fun while doing so.

The best thing for me was that even her sister was having fun in his company. He brought them so much happiness and joy that made her wonder what would have happened if they didn’t meet in the first floor.

Perhaps, he would have still searched for them as he knew about them because of his regression.

Or perhaps, he would have ignored them and they would still be living that struggling monotone life.

They would still have to follow their clans decision even if they didn’t like them. Then, perhaps they would have traded in political marriage to strengthen the clan.

Charlotte was talent so no doubt many powerfull clans outside the kingdom would be willing to get her in their clans.

But everything had changed.

Now, she knew that Max would save them. He was the person Stelle trusted the most to get them out of this situation and make them happy.

’Heh! Just a few days and I’m already feeling like this...this man surely is very dangerous!’

Stelle mocked herself, but she knew she had already jumped too into this sea love. She really liked his company as it was the first time she like that during their date.

She questioned herself if it was because he was just the first one to get close to her after her sister. So, she tried putting other people in his place and realised that she didn’t like any of them or their company.

She wanted Max, nobody else.

’I should work harder from tomorrow on so he could take some rest. I’ll try to bait some monsters...but I’m not good at it. I’ll probably end up provoking many of them.’

She wanted to help them, but no matter how much she thought about it, nothing came to her mind.

It was then she realised that she wasn’t good at anything at all. Even this cooking task she got was because they needed to rest.

Both of them were better than her at everything.

’Maybe he’ll choose sister over me...’

Just as that thought formed in her head, she slapped herself hard on her cheeks, making a powerful sound that woke up Max.

He had been practicing to keep his sleep under control so that even small sounds or any sensation could wake him up if he was in trouble.

So, he sat up, startled by the sudden sound and looked around for any monsters, especially for Stelle.

’Did someone attack?’ he hurriedly stood up and only then he saw Stelle sitting outside while rubbing her cheeks.

He sighed in relief and turned towards Charlotte who was still sleeping. He could see her exhaustion on her face and the fact that she was still sleeping after that noise showed it top.

He tucked her hair behind her ears and smiled, ’Sleep well!’

Then, he went outside and sat beside Stelle, taking her in surprise. Though, she quickly hid her face to hide the mark on her cheek.

’Damnit! Why did I slap so hard? Not only it hurts but he also woke up. How do I face him now? Damn you, Stelle!!’ she cursed herself while looking away.

"If you want a red mark on your skin, then you should have told me," Max smirked. "I could have made your butt red from spankings."

Stelle’s embarassment grew as she muttered, "Pervert! Stay away from my butt!"

"Nah, it’s too enticing!" Max chuckled. "I don’t think I’m ever letting it go. It’s too good. Hmm, perhaps I should keep you imprisoned inside my home."
