Leveling Endlessly With My Harem
Chapter 90: The Lesson
CHAPTER 90: THE LESSON
Max laughed, making her confused as she asked, "Did you hit your head or something?"
"No, I was just showing you something," Max stopped laughing and gave her the sweetest smile. "I can only bicker like this with you, not with Charlotte."
He kissed her forehead and said, "You’re you and you’re different. So what if you aren’t better than her in somethings? I’m not looking for the most perfect woman in the world."
Leaning forward, he whispered, "I’m looking for the woman who matches me and my stupid self. And you’re that woman."
"Heh, those perfect woman won’t even look at you so you’re coming for someone like me," Stelle scoffed and circled her arms around his neck. "But it’s a good thing I’m in same boat. No perfect man wants me anyways."
"Then, two stupid people shall bond with each other?" Max chuckled, happy that she was finally over her thoughts.
They would still bother her, but he was sure she could fight them now. She just needed to stop comparing herself with everyone and just focus on her strengths.
"Of course!" Stelle giggled and hugged him tightly. Then, she whispered, "Thank you for everything."
"I don’t think a thank you is necessary in a relationship," Max smiled and before she could say anything, he continued. "You’ll just need to repay me with...your body."
Stelle stiffened hearing his words, but soon relaxed and said, "Sure, the payment is yours but it’ll take sometime for the payment to get ready."
"As long as the payment remains mine, I can wait," Max said, squeezing her plump butt lightly.
’Damnnation! So soft and spongy! How does something like this even exist?’
Stelle’s ears turned red on his actions, but she didn’t object. In fact, she felt quite happy that he was so intrested in her body and especially with her body.
If she wasn’t so nervous and embarassed, she might have....
’Ahh! What are you thinking, you pervert?’ Stelle’s face burned red as many scenes passed through her mind, each enough to give her nosebleed.
She hid herself in Max’s embrace, hoping he wouldn’t notice her face.
Of course, how could Max not notice it?
But he didn’t expose her and simply hugged her back.
For the next one hour or so, they just sat like this with occasionally engaging in conversation otherwise enjoying each other’s presence.
It reminded them of their date, making the moment even better.
Finally, when Stelle felt her heart calm, she said, "Thanks for accompanying but you should take more rest. I barely did anything and even leveled up once so I’m full of energy."
Max didn’t reject the offer as he knew he would have to do more running in their next hunt.
Just when he was about to go back, he asked, "Have you received any skill?"
"Nope!" Stelle shook her head in Denial. "Not even one. There also wasn’t any Artefacts."
Max wasn’t surprised hearing that so he just nodded and went back to his tent. He also didn’t get any skills or Artefacts so he thought maybe Kafka was pulling some pranks.
[Hmm? You think I’m that free?]
’Yes. What are you even doing aside from watching animes and shows?’
[A very important job, mister. I’m doing a very important one.]
’And that is?’
[Observing the candidate for the esteemed position of my husband.]
Max was speechless hearing her narcissistic tone and ignored her. He decided to rest, but before that he gave a side glance to his EXP bar since nothing much had changed in his status.
[EXP: 186/245]
He had leveled up once and was very close to leveling up once again.
’just a little more!’
His progress dropped after he leveled up because of his nerf. The same monsters that were giving him 20 EXP gave him only 10 EXP because they were on same level.
Although there were stages in monsters power system, every stage basically consisted of three Levels of human’s power system.
So, many Early-Stage Second Order Monsters were useless to him. Sadly, he didn’t know how to differentiate between them aside from guessing their power levels.
This also halted his progress.
Still, it was much faster than he had hoped so he was happy.
Then, Max took a healthy sleep which no one knew how long it lasted. Time was always weird in Labyrinth, especially in dungeons.
When he woke up, the two sisters were working on their breakfast...or dinner... whatever it was, he couldn’t care less about it.
All he knew was that he was hungry so he went forward and greeted the two of them, "Morning, beautiful ladies. I have to say I’m quite a lucky guy to see such beautiful and cute faces right after waking up."
"You should be grateful," Stelle snorted and gave him a portion of meal. "Eat it! Big Sis’s mana has recovered completely so we’ll take off soon."
"Woah! Your Mana recovery is insane," Max was genuinely surprised. "Is it natural or some buff?"
"It’s a Spell which takes a portion of my mana to speed up my natural Regeneration. The pros weigh more on cons so I have it permanently on," Charlotte responded.
Max stared at her for a moment and said, "That should take a toll on your body and mind, right?"
"It does, but it’s for good so I let it be, even when I’m sleeping," Charlotte smiled. "I’ve heard that once enough time passes, it makes increases the Regeneration a permanent effect and you know how important it is for mages."
Max was impressed, really impressed by her dedication and determination. Although she said it so lightly, he knew it wasn’t an easy task.
Just the mental burden was enough to drive many crazy.
He gave her a thumbs up and said, "You’re awesome! No, that’s an understatement. You’re too good!"
’This guy...he really has a sweet tongue,’ Stelle was speechless seeing his behaviour.
She remembered how he had acted a few hours before and his image had improved in her heart. She thought of him as a gentleman, but of course he just had to go end destroy it completely.
’What a mess I am to fall for him.’
Still, a small smile played on her lips.
