CHAPTER 68: CHAPTER 68 – SEA MONSTER VI

"I want to find my missing sister. Do you want to come with me?" asked Daisy.

Crowne frowned. He felt that he had nothing to do with that. He had never even known Daisy before they met just a few seconds ago. But he had to help Daisy find her sister. Crowne felt he did not need to accept that offer.

"I think I don’t..."

Before he could finish his words, Daisy immediately cut him off. "This is related to the sea monster you’re looking for." Then she turned to Crowne. "If you want to help me, I’ll be waiting for you at the guild."

Not long after, Daisy stood up. She gave a small smile toward Crowne. That smile carried hidden sadness. After that, Daisy turned around, jumping down from the big rock where she had been sitting. Crowne only watched her go down.

"If you manage to help me, then I’ll do anything you want. Anything, even that," said Daisy.

After saying that, Daisy began to walk and waved her right hand. She had already left. Crowne only watched her from the top of the rock. He was just about to turn his gaze away from Daisy when suddenly she stopped.

"Ah, I forgot. My sister’s name is Lina," she said.

At that moment, Crowne’s eyes widened. He remembered that name. Quickly, he stood up and jumped down. With long strides, he immediately chased after Daisy.

"Wait! I accept your request!" shouted Crowne.

Daisy, who was walking, immediately smiled. That simple answer from Crowne made her happy. She was relieved because she had finally managed to recruit another strong companion.

Her smile deepened. "Wait for me, Lina. Big sister will come to find you."

**

Lina and Daisy were real sisters. Daisy left Doomsty City because she was a talented adventurer. She reached Rank A when she was only twenty-three. Meanwhile, Lina was not as talented as her sister. She was still young, only nineteen years old. She still had room to grow, but the guild said that her talent would only reach that far.

She would not improve anymore. She would stay stuck at Rank C. No higher than that. Because of that, she stayed in Doomsty City since Daisy did not allow her to leave because she was too weak, and their father was already old. Someone had to take care of him.

But their father was killed several weeks ago. Daisy returned to Doomsty City, and at the same time, Lina kept trying to find a way to take revenge by killing the monster that had killed their father.

On the first day Daisy arrived in Doomsty City, she and Lina had a big fight. Daisy forbade Lina from doing her revenge plan and told her to accept reality, but Lina was stubborn. In the end, Daisy shouted at Lina and drove her out of the house.

Without Daisy realizing it, Lina still went to the sea to hunt the monster that had killed their father.

"So that’s how it happened," said Daisy softly, staring at the table in the meeting room. Her voice was almost drowned by sadness and guilt. "I’ve already lost my father... I don’t want to lose my sister too. I hope you all can help me find Lina."

Crowne leaned back in his chair, silently watching Daisy. He could see that the girl was filled with guilt over losing her sister. Crowne could understand how Daisy felt.

Evans, who was sitting across the table, stared at Daisy for a long time. He was still young, around twenty-seven years old. Evans was also searching for the sea monster, but he did it alone. He didn’t want to involve anyone, and the result was nothing.

When Daisy asked for his help, Evans felt that he really needed to cooperate. Even though the risk was big. Their bet was their own lives.

"Why do you think your sister is still alive? Isn’t it unreasonable that she could survive until now?" he said quietly. "The comrades who went with her are all dead. Yesterday we found the last body among those who went with Lina to kill the monster. After seeing that, do you still believe that Lina is alive?"

"I don’t know," Daisy replied quickly. "But I will still go. If I don’t look for Lina, then who will? Whether she’s alive or not, I’ll still search for her. At least I can find her body."

Evans nodded. He understood Daisy’s condition. "You’re still the same as before. You never want to listen to anyone’s advice, but that’s what makes you amazing," praised Evans.

Evans finally stood, looking at the large map on the wall. "If you really insist on going... you’ll need a crew. No ship dares to go too far from the shore. Especially after another body was found yesterday. Do you even have a ship that will take us to the open sea?"

Daisy nodded. "I already have one." She looked at Crowne. "And I’m sure we already have enough members."

Crowne frowned. "I never said I agreed to be part of your crew."

"You just said you accepted my request," Daisy answered flatly.

"I said I’d help. That doesn’t mean I’ll accept every order you give," replied Crowne.

Daisy narrowed her eyes. After that, she looked at Evans again. "We already have enough members," she said.

Crowne wanted to protest again, but Evans immediately explained several possible spots where the monster could be found. They would go to three of those locations after preparing everything. He also explained that the monster’s nest was in the open sea.

That was the best place for sea monsters. It was their territory. Of course, they would have a great advantage there.

"... Do not let your guard down, or we will all die," said Evans seriously.

The adventurers in the room nodded. There were only five people there, including Evans. A very small number. The other adventurers had refused Daisy’s or Evans’s request. They still valued their lives.

What Daisy and Evans planned to do was extremely dangerous. Naturally, only a few would join this mission.

"When will we depart?" asked Daisy.

"In two days," replied Evans.

The others nodded. They all would prepare first. This mission was insane. It was like a suicide mission. But everyone there looked serious about it.

"Stop! You’re under arrest!" shouted a soldier.

Several soldiers surrounded Crowne, slamming his body to the ground and chaining both his hands and feet.

He had been on his way back to his grandfather’s house near the beach, but suddenly he was captured by the soldiers of Doomsty City without knowing what crime he had committed.

"What are you doing? Why are you arresting me?" asked Crowne.

"You’ll hear the explanation later!" said the commander. He turned around. "Take that traitor away!" he ordered.
