CHAPTER 108: SHADOW KINGDOM IS ABOUT TO OPEN

"What are you doing here? Where are the others?"

As Lucien returned to the room they were in before, after sending Sera away, he saw that his mother, Lilith, and Liora were nowhere to be seen.

Instead, only his father and, surprisingly, his grandfather Malcolm were talking and sipping tea in a relaxed mood.

"Are you done?"

However, in return to his query, what he got was a deadpan look from his father, Cedric, clearly in faint anger.

After all, Lucien did scold him before. How could he not be angry?

He wasn’t already standing up and beating Lucien thanks to Malcolm.

"Cough... Dad, I was just joking that time. Don’t take my words to heart."

Lucien coughed awkwardly, seeing Cedric getting angry at him, and didn’t know what to say.

He couldn’t say that his father arrived at the worst possible time, causing him to get angry, right?

"Joking? Do you think I am stupid?"

It was better if Lucien didn’t say anything. When he did, though, Cedric flew up in rage, pointing his finger towards his face and scolding mercilessly.

Cedric tsked his mouth in disgust, making Lucien speechless.

He didn’t know his father had this side too. He clearly knew how to make him feel bad.

Fortunately for Lucien, Malcolm came in at the right time to diffuse the tense moment. Otherwise, he didn’t know how to handle this angry father of his.

"Both of you sit down. Lucien, make tea for your father."

Malcolm ordered, to which Lucien immediately began to make tea diligently, as if a newlywed wife making tea for her husband.

After all, he was indeed a little too much before, and Cedric’s anger was reasonable.

Seeing Lucien being so obedient, Malcolm nodded with a proud look, while Cedric just completely ignored Lucien. This guy was clearly still angry.

"Lucien, I heard that you have some tryst with two princesses, is this true?"

After the situation calmed down, Malcolm finally asked for something for which he came here.

To be honest, when Cedric told him this, he didn’t believe it at all. After all, he still knew how much worth his grandson was.

But after listening to everything from Cedric, he had to believe it even if he didn’t want to.

Truth be told, he was a little proud of his grandson who could smitten two princesses back to back. Even he didn’t have such strength when he was young.

Well, his situation was even more miserable.

Still, he came here despite that because those two princesses were a little unique and involved in some unique situation in the royal family.

"It isn’t a tryst or anything, we are just a little close, that’s all."

Lucien saw how serious Malcolm seemed and immediately nodded to show that he took his advice seriously.

Lucien thought bitterly. Unlike what they thought, he never approached those girls at all.

Malcolm was stunned by Cedric’s words and looked at Lucien, wondering if Lucien was just playing around.

"No, Dad...can you please stop going against me? Didn’t you see me ordering Irwen to collect information?"

Lucien was speechless at Cedric. He didn’t know his father was so vengeful that he had to go against him everywhere just because of that incident.

Honestly, now he felt bad that he didn’t scold him more before. He was just too annoying.

"Yeah, as if that will do something."

Cedric snarled, showing his white teeth at Lucien, but still stopped in time. He didn’t want to get scolded by Malcolm, who seemed a little annoyed.

Moreover, seeing Lucien’s look of frustration, he was already satisfied.

He thought with glee as he sipped the tea leisurely. He didn’t know why, but suddenly it seemed sweeter than before.

Seeing that Lucien clearly had a plan, Malcolm was satisfied. Then, he didn’t ask what he was trying to do, just gave his promise, and stood up from his seat.

"Whatever you are trying to do, do it fast. I feel that the Shadow Kingdom is about to open up. That guy Dorian is really fast."

Malcolm paused and continued,

"If you can’t handle the situation, just leave everything behind. No need to fret over small things. I will first settle you guys in a safe place before leaving. Okay, don’t disturb me if you don’t have anything important."

After saying his final piece, Malcolm left the room, leaving Cedric and Lucien alone. He still had many things to prepare for his upcoming adventure.
