Chapter 68: A Bewitching Kiss!
CHAPTER 68: A BEWITCHING KISS!
Lucien didn’t say it aloud, though. He wasn’t stupid.
But his look did manage to irk Sera, who took great pride in her figure, valor, her Phoenix bloodline, and everything else about herself.
She was a typical spoiled brat, narcissistic, full of useless pride, and unable to take a single slight. Although she was older than Lilith, Lucien could see her immaturity loud and clear.
"Of course it’s my concern. How dare you disrespect my Phoenix Nest?"
Sera was so furious at that look of Lucien that only she could give others that her hands suddenly burst into coiling flames.
Lucien saw the flames, an elegant mixture of crimson and gold, begin to dance around her arms, showing a mesmerizing, almost divine beauty.
"Woah!"
Lucien was stunned by her sudden outburst.
"Calm down, lady! It is not that serious."
He could feel that the flames on her hands were definitely not ordinary, as they carried a scorching energy so powerful that it made the air shimmer around her.
He would likely be seriously wounded if touched by that.
So, Lucien couldn’t help but try to dissuade this hot-headed bimbo. He still didn’t understand why she was so angry.
After all, what did his refusal to enter the Phoenix Nest have to do with her?
Unfortunately, Sera was clearly obsessed when it came to this dungeon, and her anger didn’t just vanish because he said so.
"Not that serious?"
She instead looked at Lucien disdainfully and slowly began to walk towards him,
"You still don’t seem to understand what you have missed."
"Just because you are afraid of a little pain, you rejected a single opportunity to change your life forever?"
"Why can you do that?"
She said, then suddenly gave a sickening smile, reiterating something through her mouth,
"The fire of the Phoenix is sacred. How can you link it to pain? To be burned in the Phoenix fire is to be honored with a new life. But you sneak out because of a little pain...?"
Lucien could see that the more Sera talked, the more violent she became as the prongs of fire out of her arm were practically crackling like crazy.
She seemed to be emotionally affected by the very fire she was controlling, or something else.
But she was crazy, alright.
He didn’t know who let this girl out in the open.
’Fuck, what kind of psycho is this girl?’
Lucien never thought that just for rejecting that dungeon, he would be in such a pinch.
’Sigh... what a headache.’
Lucien could run, but suddenly, he didn’t want to.
Honestly, if the first thing you thought when encountering danger was to run, then your entire life, you might just spend running.
Whether in the previous life or in this one, running was never an option.
’System, show me my status panel!’
Now that the situation had come to this, although in a hurry, he had to look at his options.
While Lucien backed himself a little to get out of the range of those dangerous prongs of fire off of Sera’s hand, his mind began to rapidly read every effect of his class, trying to find something that could help him here.
"You know what... You still don’t seem to realize how lucky you are to get the opportunity to burn in Phoenix fire."
Sera suddenly said, her words startling Lucien, who was concentrating on his secondary classes.
"So... let me help you feel it... a little."
Suddenly, Lucien caught sight of an almost demonic smile twisting on Sera’s lips while her amber eyes locked on him like a predator.
Then, to his astonishment, she vanished right in front of his eyes.
It was so sudden that Lucien was completely caught off guard.
But before he could even react, the next second, he heard her voice come from right beside him, soft and raspy, brushing against his ear,
"Don’t worry... it won’t hurt that much. After all, I went through it when I was just five." Sera smiled sweetly.
"You’re an adult after all. You should be able to handle it just fine. Don’t worry, it’s very good for you... hehe."
Her giggle was soft and melodious, just like a flower blooming under moonlight. Only, the tongues of flame curling around her fingers said otherwise.
After giggling a bit, Lucien saw Sera lean forward and place both hands gently on his shoulders, as if bestowing a blessing.
But the moment her skin made contact, the coiling, restless fire leapt from her palms to his body almost immediately.
It took only a blink from her sudden appearance to her hand landing on his shoulder.
By the time Lucien had reacted, his body was already covered in the prongs of fire that were desperately trying to bite, seething and devouring him.
It was just like a cursed flame bred in hell, spreading on his body like gangrene.
Seeing his body on fire, Sera watched in sick excitement, her eyes gleaming.
She looked at the growing blaze with the same reverence as an artist would admire her masterpiece.
Only, she felt that one thing was missing.
The thing that she did when she was forced to burn alive in this very fire when she was just five.
His scream.
’Why is he so quiet?’
The silence was honestly disappointing and even unnatural. It truly robbed her of satisfaction.
Annoyed, Sera tilted her head to meet Lucien’s gaze, only to be stunned.
That’s because Lucien was also staring at her silently.
His body was clearly on fire, but those eyes were clearly not in pain as she thought. There was something else in those eyes that she couldn’t understand.
The situation was so absurd that Sera suddenly lost the control she had on Phoenix’s fire on Lucien’s body, causing it to go haywire.
’Shit, this is bad.’
The moment she lost control, the blazing fire that was grazing Lucien’s body, only intending to hurt him a bit, went haywire.
It didn’t care what was in front, but burned fiercely, trying to reduce whatever this was into ashes in an instant.
"Hey, get back!"
Sera shouted, a little anxiously, controlling the fire once again, trying to lift it off his body.
After all, she didn’t want to kill this guy. Like Dorian said, she didn’t want to offend the Goldveil family that had the Peak Weaver rank powerhouse.
She just wanted to have a little fun with this guy who didn’t care about her Phoenix Nest.
"Hey, didn’t you hear me?"
But Sera saw that Lucien was still standing still. So, she lifted her hands off his shoulder, intending to distance herself to get rid of the fire, when suddenly she felt a strong arm wrap around her waist, directly pressing her against a broad chest.
"What—"
"Tch... you left me no choice."
Then she heard Lucien mumble something, followed by a scene that she could never forget in her life.
"Devour!"
"Swoosh!"
As soon as Lucien said the word, the fiery prongs of fire on his body, trying to reduce him to ashes, suddenly stopped forcefully.
Then, to the astonishment of Sera, they suddenly drilled into his body like snakes from his pores.
No, they didn’t drill, but it was as if they were sucked in forcefully with no resistance at all.
"What the hell..."
Sera was so surprised she opened her mouth wide in astonishment, not even caring that she was being hugged by a man.
But it was this expression that sealed her doom, as after sucking off all the flames in his body, Lucien looked at her face, especially her wide-open lips, and smirked,
"Perfect for a kiss!"
"Mmmm."
The guy directly lowered his head, capturing her lips onto his without giving Sera a chance to react. Before she could even understand what happened, her long tongue was already captured by his, in a reckless abandon.
’Bewitching Kiss!’
