CHAPTER 84: LUCIEN IS SANDWICHED BETWEEN TWO SISTERS

"Who is your man?"

Lucien asked, completely confused. He had just arrived here, and what he heard on the way made him completely dumbfounded.

"What? Who..."

Sera, who suddenly heard someone behind her, turned around only to see Lucien looking at her weirdly.

Since she had all her attention on Lilith, she didn’t even realize someone was behind her, and that too, Lucien.

’I am dead. I am dead. I am so dead.’

Sera was never so embarrassed. She felt like dying from embarrassment, like the whole world was watching her, and her cheeks burned hotter than ever before.

Maybe, she should drown herself in a spoonful of water?

’He heard it. He heard that I said he is my man.’

The constant thought of her blunder, caught red-handed right in front of Lilith, nonetheless, made her feel so ashamed that she wanted to leave this place directly.

Unfortunately, she couldn’t, as Lilith wasn’t done teasing her just yet.

"Oh? Lucien, you are here?"

Lilith acted as if she had just realized he was there and hadn’t seen his figure before, and asked with a look of curiosity.

"Do you know Sera, my sister?"

Lilith looked at the extremely embarrassed look on Sera and then at Lucien, who was confused, and asked amusedly,

"She just said you are her man. Is this... true?"

Her tone was suddenly a little off, though, as if a girlfriend asking her boyfriend about his affair.

Before Lucien could answer, Lilith came near, turned toward Sera, and complained accusingly with her sweet voice,

"She said you are her man, and I shouldn’t get in touch with you."

"Is this... true?"

Lilith turned toward Lucien and asked as if hurt,

"When... when did you have another girl in your life? That too, my sister?"

Lilith’s voice cracked faintly, as if in pain. Her blue eyes turned moist all of a sudden while she slapped Lucien’s chest with both of her hands as if in anger.

"You are too cruel, Lucien."

"You’re having an affair with my eldest sister behind my back?"

Her voice was filled with faint anger at being betrayed, faint pain from her heart being broken, and a faint reluctance and disbelief at such a cruel truth presented right before her.

She looked like a broken girl tossed aside randomly.

"You are a scumbag... scumbag Lucien."

Lilith finally shouted aloud, directly hugging Lucien with her whole voluptuous body, her face in his chest, her shoulders heaving slightly as if crying.

Anyone looking from the outside would be sure that this poor girl was hurt by this ruthless man.

She was extremely hurt by these adulterers who broke her heart apart like a piece of paper.

They were so ruthless.

Only the two people witnessing her act were so surprised that both Lucien and Sera shouted at the same time in disbelief.

While Lucien was caught off guard by the crazy behavior of Lilith out of nowhere, Sera, on the other hand, was feeling as if heaven had fallen down.

"She... she is yours?"

Sera couldn’t help but mumble, pointing at Lilith crying on Lucien’s chest. From how close Lilith was to his body without shame, practically spooned over him, she knew it must be true.

"But... but..."

Sera didn’t know what to say. Honestly, it shouldn’t matter to her whether Lilith and Lucien were together.

At best, she should be extremely embarrassed, as she practically lied that Lucien was her man, right in front of his girlfriend’s nose.

However, that wasn’t the case. Rather than being embarrassed, she was actually heartbroken, more so than Lilith, if she was in the first place.

"Why?"

Sera couldn’t understand. She just couldn’t understand why she was feeling like that.

But she couldn’t deny that seeing Lilith on Lucien’s arm, hugging so intimately, she felt pain.

’Why?’

She could only question—question no one, expecting no answers.

She just suddenly felt empty. The idea that the warm embrace she felt last night might never come again made her feel sad.

She didn’t even realize that Lucien was practically no one to her, and she was actually fighting with him at night.

But feelings are just like that.

They don’t make sense.

They come when you least expect them and turn your world upside down...

Only those who have lived through them truly understand what they are.

"What the hell are you doing, bitch?"

Just when Sera was trying hard to control her emotions, Lucien finally cursed.

He was so annoyed that he directly grabbed Lilith’s shoulders, separating her from his chest, only to see her silly smile looking at him in amusement.

Her shaking shoulders weren’t from crying but from giggling nonstop as Lilith was trying very hard not to leak her laughter right now.

"What are you doing? Are you stupid?"

Lucien could already guess what was happening here. It was none other than Lilith playing around with her sister.

Although he didn’t know why Sera had said he was her man, he could guess this demoness probably pushed her into that.

Lilith was really good at playing with emotions, after all.

Just like now—

"What do you mean, stupid? You even dared to scold me? Did you two really..."

Although Lilith was smiling like a flower while looking at Lucien with pure amusement, her voice cracked with pain just like before, as if blaming him.

Her voice felt like she was just one step away from crying.

Lucien was so mad at her for continuing her pointless act and was about to scold her when Sera’s voice suddenly cut in from the side, stopping him in his tracks.

"No, Lilith. You’re mistaken."

Sera had finally calmed down her emotions, her face as cold as ever, without a trace of sadness or embarrassment.

Then, she directly butt in, not wanting to break their relationship.

"Lucien and I have nothing to do with each other. He didn’t betray you. He didn’t even know me before yesterday."

Sera was a strong and bold girl, after all. She didn’t want to be misunderstood. Although it was quite embarrassing, she still told the truth.

"Lucien isn’t my man. I just... I just..."

Only, Sera didn’t know what to say or even lie, and directly blurted out in reflex,

"I just... like him a little, so I said those things. But he and I really have nothing to do with each other. You don’t have to worry."

She said it.

In the name of resolving a misunderstanding, she said something that made her face turn a pitch red like an apple.

’Damn, I slipped my mouth.’

Sera cursed herself for having no control over her emotions. Now she understood why people called her a good fighter, but an airhead.

Unfortunately, she was too late to realize. She was just too unbalanced right now, just like Lilith, in her opinion.

’The fuck is happening today?’

The only person who was probably sane here, but on the verge of going insane, was Lucien.

He looked at Lilith, giggling as she pretended to be hurt, and then at Sera, serious and just a little sad after her unintentional confession. He couldn’t help but hold his head, already feeling a headache coming on.

He hadn’t encountered such a situation even in his previous life.

And the funniest thing here was, neither Lilith nor Sera was his girlfriend.

He met both of them just yesterday, and both of them tried to kill him on sight.

Where was the fucking love and betrayal here?

’If anyone was betrayed here, wasn’t it me?’

Lucien looked at Lilith, who finally couldn’t hold back her laughter and quickly covered her mouth, still trying not to let Sera notice, and rolled his eyes.

He didn’t know why, but he didn’t want to let this little girl have her fun. He wanted her to feel the same as Sera.

So, he shifted his focus from Lilith to Sera, who quickly lowered her gaze in shame as soon as his eyes met hers, and said in a cold voice:

"Sera, you don’t need to cover for your sister. There’s nothing between us, and she has no place between you and me."
