CHAPTER 1051: TO SAVE YOU [2/2]

[I can. It is possible to do so by estimating the size and thickness based on the echoes. Roach’s strikes travel the length of the safe room to the ground. So, I can visualize it for you.]

"Cool. Then open a {Portal} just by the entrance."

[There is a danger of slicing someone on the inside of the room.]

"That is true. Then let’s take a look."

[How?]

"Open a small portal the size of my face in the ceiling of this thing."

[I understand, coordinates set. Note that the coordinates may be correct, but due to the soulgear we will not see anything on the inside. It probably works like a small domain.]

"Then this soulgear is made from a Specter? This prince is as rich as fuck; how much would such a thing even cost?"

[I do not know. But it certainly is not an item just anyone could possess.]

"Well, whatever, let’s do this. {Portal}."

At my call, a small doorway appeared in front of me. The other side was black. I could see absolutely nothing.

If this worked like Lilly’s or Jo’s domains, then invisibility only worked from the outside in. Meaning once inside, the invisibility would no longer be applied to my vision.

I quietly inserted my face into my portal. The feeling was similar to dipping your face in a basin of water. When I opened my eyes, I finally saw the inside of the room. It looked like a small pantry that had only five people inside.

A pregnant reaper, a child, and three humans. The pregnant woman looked like she was in pain while two of the three humans were tending to her. The last human, on the other hand, comforted the child in a hug. The child was asleep.

None of them were close to the front of the door and were further in. So, I slipped my face out and closed the {Portal}.

"The area is safe, Exa. Please open a doorway at the front of the face. You already saw the inside, right?"

[Yes, knowing the interior, my depiction of the entire safe room is now 100%. You may begin.]

I turned to everyone present, "Do not harm those inside. I have use for them."

"Yes, my lord," they replied obediently.

Raising my hand, I visualized opening a doorway into the room. Exa’s input made my vision much clearer. It was so detailed that it felt like I was already inside the safe room.

"{Portal}. Yvonne, bring them out, if you please."

"Roger that, Patron!"

After my subspace doorway appeared, the wolves walked inside confidently. Within seconds, they brought out everyone in the room. Nodding, I turned to Juno and gave my next instructions.

"I want this room. Tear it off the building and carry it back with us."

"I understand, my lord," Juno replied. She then placed her hand on her lover while she instructed the Vithriss, "Roach, my sisters. You heard the lord; let’s pull it out."

"Hehehe. Got it."

The Awakened then performed perhaps the most insane redecoration I have seen. They tore apart cement, stone, and metal and pried the safe room from the ground.

’I should give them some rewards later.’

The pregnant woman saw Zanele and immediately went off.

"Zanele Soldat? Why are you here? You are working with these monsters? Are you aware that Kaziema and the Lulendo clan are working to defend Africa? You are the Immortal’s woman! How dare you betray us like this?!"

Amari’s mother said nothing and just remained by my side. Truly, what she did was, in fact, a betrayal. And while she might have had good intentions, someone had to pay the price. Seeing the lack of response, the woman continued to berate us.

"You people make me sick! Just how many died today for your actions? You are nothing but demons! Innocent Reapers died all to fulfill your ambition! When Kaziema gets here, you will all be sorry! Forget being able to die peacefully!"

Probably used to being waited on, the woman kept voicing her threats and complaints. I saw both the Vithriss and Wolves tense up like snakes eager to strike. Just how stupid was this woman to constantly insult those who controlled her life right now?

Unwilling to listen any further, I walked up to her. She was quite tall, but from her soul signature and build, she didn’t seem like a fighter. Unlike Nomvula, who moved like a warrior, this person seemed like a sheltered flower.

’Ivory.’

Summoning my white USP Match, I grabbed her by the back of her neck and pressed the gun to her forehead. The woman tried to resist but grew pale when she saw my gun. The air turned silent.

"Hear that? That’s the sound of the fucks I give about you or your complaints. You are a nobody, so stop acting like your words have any meaning," I sneered.

I turned her head and had her see the carnage we had done to her little beachfront. She gulped audibly as she watched the scene. Mere seconds later, something crashed from the sky with a massive boom. Only for something else to follow.

"Gehuk!"

When the dust and smoke cleared, there were two Specters, both tattered and injured. Yet the birdman had the whites of his eyes showing and no longer moved. In contrast, Eva, who was standing on his chest, wiped the blood from her mouth as she spat on him.

"Fucking bird-brained ass! You’re a hundred years too early to fight me! Bitch!"

"No..."

The faint whisper that came from the pregnant woman seemed weary and weak. As if all the hope she held suddenly broke apart. Her body began to tremble and sweat nervously. She probably believed that the African Specter would save her.

If I let go of her, she probably would fall to the ground in a pitiful mess. Even without her words, I knew what she was thinking. Her expression showed that she finally realized the gravity of her situation.

Feeling that this was the right time, I spoke, "Call him."

"Huh?"

"Your husband, Prince Kaziema. Call him. We will wait," I repeated.

"What?"

I pulled out my GRI and gave it to her. The woman’s face warped from shock to terror at my request. Seeing as our group took down even a Specter, I could see the gears in her brain turning.

"No. Please no. You can’t hurt Kaziema! I will do anything! Please spare him!"

But despite her pleas, my expression remained cold.

"Call him. That’s your only purpose."

I then moved Ivory and aimed it at the kid who was still asleep.

"That is if you want your son to still see tomorrow."

"Wait! I’ll do it! Don’t hurt him! I will call Kaziema!"

I let her go, and she proceeded to dial. Exa connected me to the phone with {Connect} so I could hear the conversation as if I were on the call with them. The woman even began to speak in an African language as she trembled.

[Who is this?]

"Kaziema! It’s me! Please come to the beach house right now!"

[Wife? Why are you calling? Is this one of your episodes? I already told you no one must know of your existence. Besides, now is not a good time; the other princes are in open rebellion. I can’t deal with this right now...]

"Kaziema! SHUT UP AND LISTEN! THEY HAVE OUR SON! EVERYONE ELSE IS DEAD! Sniff. Even elder eagle has been killed!"

[What?! How? Where? When? Are you safe? There should be a blockade of Specters surrounding that place! How did they even find you? And how did they know you are my wife? Did you tell them?]

I took the phone from the woman and addressed the party on the other end of line.

"It doesn’t matter how we know Kaziema. What does matter is that I have your wife and son in front of me. Come here within ten minutes or I will kill them both. And just in case you know, this is not a threat..."

With a swift motion, I aimed at her foot, the gunshot echoing like thunder in the stillness. Her scream shattered the air, a raw mix of agony and fear that set the child wailing.

"AHHHHH!!!!"

[WIFE! YOU FUCKING BASTARD! I’LL KILL YOU!]

"You really think threatening me right now is going to help you? Should I shoot her again or your son next?"

[NOO!!! Please don’t. I am on my way. I will come alone. Please don’t hurt my family.]

"I promise I won’t," I replied before hanging up.

’Exa, get me the prepared Faker dagger.’

I let go of Ivory and summoned a small dagger. I then approached the weeping pregnant lady and crouched down. Yvonne had already healed her foot, so she wasn’t in any danger.

I took her hand and placed the Faker dagger coated in my blood in it.

"Look, woman, when your husband arrives, there is only one thing you need to do. Stab him with this. If you do that, I will let your son go unharmed. If you refuse, I will torture him until you agree. Do not test me."

"Sniff... Why are you doing this? What did we ever do to you?" she asked in tears.

"Believe it or not, I’m doing this to save you," I replied.

I then invoked [Translucent] on the knife, which made it invisible.
