Ling Tian Sword God
Chapter 488 - 487: Corpse Poison_1
CHAPTER 488: CHAPTER 487: CORPSE POISON_1
WHOOSH!
In an instant, the air sword plunged into the female corpse’s forehead, penetrating deep.
The air sword pierced into the female corpse’s mind, shattering the cluster of black energy within.
The next moment, the green light in the female corpse’s eyes rapidly faded, eventually vanishing. Her body collapsed with a thud, then turned to ash.
After the female corpse vanished, the intense pain in Ling Chen’s arm subsided significantly. However, the corpse had left a nasty bite wound, and the blood seeping from it had already turned black, clearly infected with a potent Poison.
"Ling Chen, you’ve been poisoned!" Xia Yunxin exclaimed, her cherry-like lips parting in alarm as she stared at Ling Chen’s right arm, from which black blood gushed.
"It’s nothing. I’m immune to all Poisons." Ling Chen dismissed it. A minor injury like this just needed a little attention. With the Divine Dragon Jade, what could mere corpse Poison do to him?
"Kid, you’re likely underestimating this," the Human Emperor’s slightly mocking voice suddenly interjected. "That Female demon’s demonic cultivation is exceptionally powerful. The corpse Poison from her bite, fused with her evil techniques, has already entered your body. Even the Divine Dragon Jade might struggle to neutralize it; detoxification isn’t its primary function, after all."
"What? Then what should I do?" Ling Chen suddenly felt a chill crawl up his spine. His right arm seemed to have lost all sensation as the potent toxin circulated through his meridians, extinguishing its vitality.
"I have a solution," the Human Emperor said, his tone still laced with amusement. "I possess a Secret Method called the Yin Yang Detoxification Technique. Use it, and I guarantee you can dispel this Demon Corpse’s Poison."
"Oh? Then what are we waiting for? Quickly, teach me the incantation," Ling Chen’s eyes lit up.
"Don’t be hasty," the Human Emperor drawled. "This Yin Yang Detoxification Technique is somewhat unique. It requires a woman willing to make a sacrifice for you. You must cultivate it together, Yin and Yang complementing each other, using Yin to supplement Yang, only then can you resolve the corpse Poison."
"Stop spouting nonsense." Ling Chen’s mouth twitched. He glanced at Xia Yunxin beside him. She was oblivious to his exchange with the Human Emperor, her delicate brows knitted tightly, clearly still worried about his Poison.
Harmony between Yin and Yang to practice this technique? Seriously, how could he even suggest such a thing?
"Master, I know you must have other methods," Ling Chen said, withdrawing his gaze from Xia Yunxin. Their relationship was far from that stage; how could he make such a request?
"Kid, what am I to do with you? Such a blockhead! This is a golden opportunity. ’A fair maiden is a gentleman’s good match.’ I can tell this young lady fancies you. If you were to ask this of her, she certainly wouldn’t refuse." The Human Emperor sounded utterly exasperated.
"Even if that were true, it’s absolutely out of the question." Ling Chen shook his head. He had his principles, especially given his current unresolved misunderstanding with Xu Ruoyan. If anything happened with Xia Yunxin now, he’d never be able to clear his name, even if he jumped into the Yellow River.
"Such a stubbornly principled brat. Wasting such a fine opportunity. You’ll regret this later," the Human Emperor chided, shaking his head. He clearly found Ling Chen exceptionally conservative. In his view, such an exquisite beauty was a natural match for a hero, someone to be added to his harem. For Ling Chen to relinquish such a chance was, to the Human Emperor, not only foolish but also went against the very nature of things.
"If there are no other methods, are you suggesting I just wait here to die?"
"You definitely have other ways, stop hiding them. You are the esteemed Human Emperor; surely you wouldn’t stoop to such crude and distasteful tactics," Ling Chen said, shaking his head.
"Alright, alright." The Human Emperor relented. "There is another method. Have someone suck the Poison out of your wound. Then, use the power of the Divine Dragon Jade to slowly purge the toxins that have already invaded your system. That should do it."
"It’s that simple?" Ling Chen was stunned, his forehead creasing in exasperation. "If there was such a straightforward method, why didn’t you mention it sooner?"
Sucking out the poisoned blood was all that was needed. Yet, the Human Emperor had spoken of practicing the Yin Yang Detoxification Technique with such conviction that, had he not finally caved, Ling Chen might have actually believed him.
"How could that method compare to the previous one? A strategy that kills two birds with one stone, and you refuse to use it! Boy, I’ve given you the methods; what you do next is up to you." With that, the Human Emperor’s voice faded, saying no more.
"How are you?" Xia Yunxin asked, seeing Ling Chen’s darkening complexion. It was clear things weren’t improving as he’d claimed. His supposed immunity to all Poisons seemed ineffective against this particular toxin.
"Sucking it out should be fine." Ling Chen looked at the poisoned bite mark on his arm, preparing to suck the poison out himself.
"Let me." Xia Yunxin grasped Ling Chen’s arm. "Consider it repayment for your help." With that, she lowered her head, her small, cherry-like mouth closing over Ling Chen’s wound, and began to suck.
Watching Xia Yunxin carefully draw out the poisoned blood, Ling Chen sat down quietly and began to channel the power of the Divine Dragon Jade to eliminate the toxins within his body.
Xia Yunxin drew out the black, poisoned blood with her lips. Meanwhile, Ling Chen subtly circulated his internal energy, expelling the remaining toxins from his body along with his sweat.
Soon, the corpse Poison was brought under control, and Ling Chen’s complexion finally began to improve.
"Let’s get out of here." Ling Chen rose from the ground, looked at Xia Yunxin, and said.
"MM." She nodded, then walked over to where the female corpse had turned to ash and bowed deeply toward the spot.
"She nearly killed you, and you’re paying respects to her?" Ling Chen didn’t understand her actions.
"Despite that, the end result is that I received her legacy." Xia Yunxin shook her head, then started towards the exit of the stone chamber. Glancing back at Ling Chen, she said, "Let’s go."
They left the water palace. Once out of the strange lake, they were about to depart when Xia Yunxin, just as she was about to move, suddenly paused. With a flick of her slender fingers, a small black bird shot out from the space before them and landed in her hand.
"That’s a messenger pigeon unique to the Saintess Hall. Has something happened?" Ling Chen recognized the bird’s origin.
Xia Yunxin took the small bird, her delicate brows knitting slightly. She then carefully untied the paper strip from its leg. After unfolding and reading it, her expression changed.
"What is it? Is something wrong?" Ling Chen asked, noticing her reaction.
"No." Xia Yunxin shook her head, her gaze drifting to the distance. "Bai Qing and the others found a massive Demon Repository three hundred miles from here. They want us to head over quickly."
"Then what are we waiting for? Let’s set off." Ling Chen’s eyes lit up. Most Demon Repositories in this region were Ancient Demon Treasures. Their original masters had generally been terrifyingly powerful, so the Demon Repositories they left behind were anything but ordinary; they likely held numerous Treasures. Perhaps, like Xia Yunxin, he could acquire a legacy Demonic Seal and obtain the lifelong knowledge of an ancient demon.
