Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!
Chapter 130: He Actually Knows Everything
CHAPTER 130: CHAPTER 130: HE ACTUALLY KNOWS EVERYTHING
Ms. Dunn looked around as she spoke, quite showing a potential for being undercover.
Forrest Keller asked suspiciously over the phone, "Auntie?"
After all, he accompanied Stella Grant in the hospital for a week back then, how come he never heard about her having an aunt?
For such a close relative like an aunt, with Lynn Adler being diagnosed with such a serious disease as uremia, shouldn’t she come to visit her in the hospital as soon as possible?
Ms. Dunn answered, "Yes, Miss Grant’s aunt, she started by cursing that Adler wouldn’t live long and should arrange her affairs, and even had her eye on Adler’s house..."
Ms. Dunn recounted everything that happened this morning in the hospital room to Forrest Keller.
After a brief consideration, Forrest Keller said, "Okay, I understand, Ms. Dunn, thank you for your help."
Ms. Dunn always thought Forrest Keller was doing all this because he secretly admired Stella Grant, and said with a smile, "No trouble at all, there aren’t many good boys like you these days. If Miss Grant knew, she would definitely be moved."
Forrest Keller dared not respond, "Haha."
Forrest Keller let out two dry laughs, and over the phone, Ms. Dunn was just packed into an elevator by a crowd and lost signal.
Seeing the call was disconnected, Forrest Keller breathed a long sigh of relief and took a step toward the president’s office.
Forrest Keller raised his hand and knocked on the door. After hearing a ’come in’, he pushed the door open and entered.
"President Sutton."
Silas Sutton had barely slept last night, and now his face looked cold, daunting anyone who dared to approach, "Speak."
That one word ’speak’ from Silas Sutton made Forrest Keller involuntarily shiver.
Even though it was a hot midsummer day, he felt a chilling sensation to his core.
But despite the chill, he still had to say what needed to be said.
Forrest Keller recounted every word Ms. Dunn had said to him to Silas Sutton without missing a beat.
Silas Sutton closed the pen in his hand and slightly raised an eyebrow, "Aunt?"
Forrest Keller nodded, "Yes, aunt. According to Ms. Dunn, Manager Grant’s aunt is no easy character."
Regarding Stella Grant’s aunt, Silas Sutton had heard a bit when he was funding her back then.
It wasn’t that he deliberately found out, but rather the family was so peculiar that the school teachers sympathized with Stella Grant and couldn’t help mentioning it when they called him.
Silas Sutton’s slender fingers tapped rhythmically on the desk, "Did Stella Grant suffer any loss?"
Forrest Keller replied, "No, I heard that Manager Grant’s aunt is quite afraid of her."
Hearing Forrest Keller’s words, a hint of a smile appeared on Silas Sutton’s cold face, "She’s never been one to be easily manipulated."
Forrest Keller remained silent without expressing any opinion.
After these few incidents, Forrest Keller had already learned to protect himself.
He’s just an employee, with colleagues as dear as friendship and a job as dear as a livelihood; if it comes down to choosing, he’d give up both.
After Silas Sutton finished speaking, seeing that Forrest Keller remained silent, he slightly lifted his eyelid and said, "You’re on good terms with Ray Woods?"
Upon hearing this, Forrest Keller felt a tightness in his heart, "Just coworkers."
Silas Sutton smirked, "I suspect he’s in a fake relationship with Stella Grant. Help me probe some information out of him."
Fake relationship?
Forrest Keller was greatly surprised and instinctively wanted to refuse, "President Sutton, I..."
Forrest Keller had just uttered the word ’I’, but under Silas Sutton’s half-smiling gaze, the words in his throat halted completely, "I’ll do my best."
Silas Sutton, "Do your best?"
Forrest Keller, "I’ll definitely get it done."
Over at the hospital, Stella Grant talked to Lynn Adler about the commission from Shawn Bishop’s project.
Lynn Adler listened with a face full of joy, "Really?"
Stella Grant sat by the bed, massaging her legs, "Yes, once the project’s commission comes through, after your surgery, I’ll take you to Veridia."
Lynn Adler, after her joy, felt a bit worried, "Will that money be enough to pay off the debt?"
Stella Grant’s hand paused, her eyes lowered, "Yes."
Lynn Adler, "How big of a project is this, that it’s enough for my surgery and to pay off the debt?"
Stella Grant said, "The commission from large companies is usually very high, you’ll know in the future."
Lynn Adler didn’t understand the industry secrets of engineering, so she just listened to whatever Stella said and smiled, "You must do your best, finding a company and a boss like this isn’t easy."
Stella Grant, "Mm."
With Stella Grant’s company, Lynn Adler felt good all day.
When it was time to sleep, Lynn Adler wouldn’t allow Stella Grant to sleep on the companion bed, making her squeeze onto the same bed with her, and she fondly reached out to touch her hair, "Whenever I have free time these days, I think about when you were little, just that small..."
Stella Grant leaned against Lynn Adler’s shoulder with a smile, "I’ve grown up now."
Lynn Adler sighed emotionally, "Yes, you’ve grown up."
At one in the morning, Lynn Adler was sleeping soundly when Stella Grant’s phone, placed on the bedside table, vibrated twice, and a message popped up on the screen.
Silas Sutton: Are you asleep? I can’t sleep.
