CHAPTER 151: CHAPTER 151: THE REAL AND THE FAKE SCHEME

As the man finished speaking, Hugh York looked at him, raising an eyebrow. His face, experienced and shrewd, remained calm and revealed no flaws.

"Whether it’s true or false has nothing to do with me. As an outsider, it’s not appropriate for me to comment on the infighting between you brothers."

At that moment, Stella Grant drove back to Sutton Group with the signed contract.

On the way, Stella suddenly thought of the phone call she had from Sue Woods that morning and connected her phone to the car’s Bluetooth to call her.

Once the call was connected, Stella got straight to the point and asked, "How’s it going?"

Sue, who seemed to be busy, didn’t quite understand her, "What do you mean, how’s it going?"

Stella smiled, "Weren’t you planning to take out a high-interest loan to pay back Ben Lawson today?"

Sue hummed over the phone, "I did."

Stella asked, "Did you get it?"

Sue replied, "I borrowed it from our family’s Mr. Woods. I also promised him a super-high interest rate."

Stella laughed and asked, "Did Mr. Woods agree?"

Sue said, "Ha, if men were reliable, pigs could climb trees. Old Woods told me to go sell a kidney."

Stella chuckled, "That harsh?"

Sue gritted her teeth, "Old Woods is getting bad now, he’s no longer single-hearted, valuing his money over his life."

Stella couldn’t help but laugh, "No, Uncle probably thinks the money’s not worth spending."

Sue knew just how much Wyman Woods loved her; he was just talking. She pouted and said, "I sort of hope Old Woods loses interest in me. He’s been single for so many years, doesn’t even have a woman by his side. It’s kind of sad when you think about it..."

Sue was dutiful, unlike some children who would never allow Wyman Woods to remarry.

She always maintained a supportive attitude towards Wyman Woods remarrying and even frequently arranged dates for him.

So much so that Wyman Woods dared not rush her into marriage.

Afraid that the two of them would end up staring at each other, with Sue saying, "Aren’t you still single too?"

Hearing Sue’s words, Stella felt something, "I understand."

The two continued their chatter, and Stella could tell that Sue had moved past the issue from the morning call. As Stella’s car arrived at Sutton Group, she ended the call feeling relieved.

As the car arrived at the Sutton Group parking lot, Stella got out with the contract in hand.

Just as she was about to reach the company entrance, suddenly a man appeared out of nowhere, grabbed her shoulder, and pressed a fruit knife against her carotid artery.

Stella hadn’t anticipated anyone rushing out, and due to the inertia, she staggered and bumped into the blade, instantly causing a few drops of blood to fall.

Frowning in pain, Stella was pushed up the steps by the man, who shouted at the security guards poised at the door to save her.

"Get out of my way, or I’ll kill her."

"We’ve worked hard for over a year and haven’t received a penny. Does your Sutton Group have no humanity?"

"I want to see your President Sutton. Bring them out to meet me."
