Bai Jingqing looked at Qin Yi with a somewhat complicated expression. This person was truly arrogant and did things his own way. Such people are usually very selfish, yet Qin Yi has his heart set on the welfare of the world. He really is a contradictory person.

"I will find a way to resolve the enmity between you and the Baihua Pavilion."

"Hm?" Qin Yi looked at her in surprise.

Bai Jingqing did not explain. She didn't know why, but she just didn't want to be enemies with Qin Yi. She found his thoughts elusive, always giving her a sense of being unfathomable.

Qin Yi disinterestedly pouted, "You won't be able to do it."

Bai Jingqing looked at Qin Yi, "I am the Holy Daughter of Baihua Pavilion."

"A Holy Daughter, I have one at home too." Qin Yi laughed, "But as this Holy Daughter, your authority in Baihua Pavilion is limited. You hidden families are too set in your ways. I killed the Flower Demon, and those old stubborns at Baihua Pavilion wouldn't want to reconcile with me."

"So, I'll handle this matter myself. You hidden families are so conservative, your brains are rigid, reasoning with you probably doesn't work."

Bai Jingqing rolled her eyes at Qin Yi, "Even if you have issues with hidden forces like us, there's no need to make it so obvious, right?"

Qin Yi chuckled, hidden families must be eliminated for the world to have peace.

As they spoke, the Village Chief and Cang Ziming came over with tea.

"Sorry for the wait."

The Village Chief and Cang Ziming sat down and poured a cup of tea for both Qin Yi and Bai Jingqing.

"Is this osmanthus?" Qin Yi tasted it lightly and said.

The Village Chief laughed, "We produce all kinds of things here, but tea is scarce. This osmanthus tea is nice, it has many benefits."

"My wife especially loves osmanthus." Qin Yi took another sip of tea, his face showing undisguised happiness.

Bai Jingqing quietly watched Qin Yi. Such a domineering person, yet his eyes softened like water when he mentioned his wife. She was even more curious about Qin Yi.

"Qin Yi, tell me about the outside world." The Village Chief looked on with longing.

"Why don't you all go out and see for yourselves?"

The Village Chief shook his head, "We can't go out. This world is actually a Great Array, suppressive to our bloodline. You can come in, but we can't go out."

Qin Yi was shocked, he never thought this place was actually a Great Array. It must be at least Earth Level or even Heavenly Level.

Arrays are divided into twelve levels, from one to ten, followed by Earth Level and Heavenly Level.

"The outside world is in chaos now as well."

The Village Chief was surprised, "Tell me the specifics."

"Half a year ago, Heavenly Pits began appearing on Earth, with masses of Demons pouring out. Luckily, they were eventually controlled. However, a senior spent decades of Cultivation and lifespan to deduce that a cataclysm is in Earth's future."

The Village Chief was utterly shocked, "We guard the Heavenly Barrier, where are these Demons coming from?"

"They come from the Primordial times. These Heavenly Pits are passages connecting the two realms."

"What is the Primordial?"

Qin Yi was slightly taken aback, "You all don't know either?"

The Village Chief and Cang Ziming shook their heads.

Qin Yi was somewhat disappointed. These people guard the Heavenly Barrier, essentially defending against the Primordial, yet they don't even know what it is?

"Then what are you guarding here?"

The Village Chief said, "There are many things. The vast starry sky, billions of stars, aside from those Dead Stars, there are many planets with life."

Qin Yi wasn't too surprised; in the vast cosmos, it was impossible for only Earth to have life.

"Have you seen creatures from other planets?"

The Village Chief nodded, showing a bit of pride, "I've not only seen them, I've fought with them."

"Are aliens as terrifying as depicted in TV shows?" Qin Yi was curious like a schoolboy.

"What are TV shows?"

"Uh… just think of it as drawing. Someone imagines what aliens look like and then paints them."

"Oh." The Village Chief nodded, "I don't know how you all imagine these alien beings, but they're not just one kind. Some look no different from us Earthlings, some have beast heads and human bodies, some are fearsome creatures with wisdom equal to humans... In short, there are too many to mention all at once."

Qin Yi was filled with longing, "Can I go see the Heavenly Barrier?"

The Village Chief shook his head, "The Heavenly Barrier is strictly guarded. It's Earth's first line of defense, and most important, so outsiders aren't allowed to approach."

Qin Yi felt a bit regretful.

Just as the Village Chief was about to speak, Qin Yi suddenly turned his head towards the door, where he saw a little head peeking in to steal a look.

"Xiao Ya, come in."

The small figure that had been peeking walked in. It was a three or four-year-old girl with two pigtails, dressed in a rough cotton floral jacket, skin as white as milk, and with big round eyes nervously looking at Qin Yi and Bai Jingqing, these two strangers.

"Xiao Ya, why are you here?" the Village Chief asked with a kind smile.

The little girl's tiny hands twisted the hem of her clothes uneasily and said nothing.

"Xiao Ya, don't be afraid! This is Brother Qin Yi, and this is Sister Bai. They're both good people." Cang Ziming said with a smile.

Qin Yi and Bai Jingqing both gave a kind smile to the little girl.

The little girl relaxed a bit and, looking at the Village Chief, mustered the courage to say, "Grandpa Village Chief, I, I want to buy osmanthus cake."

Qin Yi looked at the Village Chief in surprise, "You also do business as a side job?"

The Village Chief gave a wry smile, "The osmanthus is fragrant and sweet. I like to make pastries with it, which the children love to eat. White flour is scarce here; each family gets only a small allocation every year. I, being a widower, still have some surplus each year."

"Are you sure it's not corruption?" Qin Yi joked.

Bai Jingqing looked at Qin Yi speechlessly, thinking, on the first meeting, aren't you afraid they'll throw you out for talking like this?

The Village Chief helplessly looked at Qin Yi with a wry smile, "I would like to embezzle, if there was anything to embezzle."

"Xiao Ya, Grandpa didn't make osmanthus cake today. I'll make it for you tomorrow, and you can come have some then."

The little girl's face immediately fell.

"Grandpa Village Chief, can you make it now?" The little girl suddenly looked up with hope at the Village Chief.

"You little glutton, can't you wait a day?" The Village Chief laughed.

The little girl whispered, "Mom's birthday is today. I wanted to buy an osmanthus cake for her."

Everyone was stunned, not expecting the little girl wanted to buy an osmanthus cake not for herself.

Seeing the Village Chief's expression of embarrassment, Qin Yi curiously asked, "What's the matter? This child has such filial piety; don't hold back your bit of flour."

"No, it's just that making this osmanthus cake takes a long time."

Qin Yi understood, thought for a moment, and suddenly his eyes lit up. With a flash of his hand, a vacuum-packed long loaf of bread appeared in his palm.

Bai Jingqing was stunned; where did Qin Yi conjure a loaf of bread from?

Qin Yi looked at the little girl, "Your name is Xiao Ya, right? Do you think this will do? It might not be as tasty as osmanthus cake, but it's quite good. Can you take it to your mom?"

The little girl gazed at the bread in Qin Yi's hand in a daze. She had never seen such a thing and had no idea what it was.
