Livestream: Awakening as Kaitō Kid, Shocking the World
Chapter 117: A Fan Meeting? FBI Is Falling Apart!
CHAPTER 117: CHAPTER 117: A FAN MEETING? FBI IS FALLING APART!
Landon really lived up to being Kaitō Kid’s number one fan. Not only had he arranged a full-scale livestream of the event, but he also confiscated Sente’s team’s firearms to set the stage for what he called a fair game.
Sente and Ivan exchanged helpless glances, looking more and more resigned by the second.
They had come here for a real arrest mission—live firearms, real stakes.
But somehow, Landon had turned the whole thing into a ridiculous "game." For them, this was no drill, and it definitely wasn’t a joke.
"Landon, I hope you don’t regret this decision," Sente sighed in frustration as he reluctantly handed over his service pistol.
The butler immediately stepped forward with a metal case, gesturing for Sente to place his weapon inside.
After confiscating all of their firearms, Landon finally clapped his hands and welcomed them with a grin.
"Welcome to the game, Director Sente!"
"Let’s do our best to win and capture Kaitō Kid!"
Landon didn’t actually mind catching Kaitō Kid—but only if it happened under fair conditions.
Sente forced a weak smile and nodded. Honestly, they hadn’t been able to catch Kaitō Kid even with guns.
Now, without their weapons, Sente had even less confidence.
The butler then handed Landon a tablet.
"Mr. Landon, the livestream has officially started."
The livestream was being broadcast globally, and viewer numbers were skyrocketing in real time.
[Damn, this is the most complete livestream setup I’ve ever seen. This old fox Landon really knows how to put on a show—I love it!]
[Oh shit! This is gonna be one hell of a stream!]
[What the hell? I’m already almost at Landon’s villa, and you’re telling me he’s livestreaming? And showing every single camera angle?]
[Which one is Landon? There are so many people at the front gate right now!]
[This is incredible! If every heist had a livestream like this, I’d never miss a single one!]
Landon watched the barrage of live comments on the tablet, though it was nearly impossible to read them all as they flew by. Occasionally, a single comment would freeze on the screen for a second due to the sheer volume of messages flooding in.
"Good evening, everyone! I’m Landon, and yes, Kaitō Kid’s latest calling card was sent to me!"
"I’m honored to have received it, and just like all of you, I’m a huge fan of Kaitō Kid!"
"Tonight, joining me in this game of capture are Director Sente and his team from the FBI. Rest assured, this game is completely fair—they will not be carrying any firearms!"
Landon’s voice was full of excitement as he introduced the event to viewers worldwide.
The livestream audience was left speechless.
[Wait... this guy Landon is not playing by the usual rules. What’s going on here?]
[What the hell? How is he this excited about being robbed?]
[Did you not hear what Landon just said? He’s a fan, too! He’s finally getting a chance to meet his idol face to face—of course he’s excited!]
[This is killing me! Sente and his team look like they’re about to explode. Did Landon really confiscate their guns?]
[Oh my god... you’re probably right. There’s no way the FBI would agree to this kind of "fair game" on their own!]
Landon’s livestream had global viewers fired up. Everyone was excited to witness such a fully transparent, high-quality live broadcast.
Some people were even already on their way to the villa, but after seeing that Landon had opened a livestream with full coverage, they immediately turned back toward home.
After all, even if they got there, they’d only be stuck outside in a sea of people, with no guarantee they’d actually catch a glimpse of Kaitō Kid. It all depended on luck.
Sente and Ivan had come with their nerves fully on edge, ready to put everything into capturing Kaitō Kid.
But Landon, with his talk of fairness and his high-profile livestream, had completely sidelined them.
Ivan leaned toward Sente and whispered, "Sente, are you really not going to push back on this?"
"Without our guns, our chances of catching Kaitō Kid are basically zero."
"And with the whole thing being streamed live, we’re going to end up looking like the next Nakajima Misaki!"
Sente’s pupils shrank. That would be beyond humiliating.
Just as Ivan finished speaking, the butler walked over again.
"Mr. Landon, Nakajima Misaki from the Island Nation is here. He says he’s here to assist with the capture of Kaitō Kid. There are five of them in total."
Landon’s expression darkened immediately.
The livestream viewers erupted in outrage.
[Oh my god! He actually has the nerve to show up? Didn’t he embarrass himself enough in the Island Nation? Now he’s here to make a fool of himself again in Eagle Nation?]
[No way! Is this guy a masochist or something?]
[From the Island Nation all the way to Eagle Nation—what does he think he is, Harrison? At least Harrison had some real skill. Nakajima Misaki is just a walking joke!]
[Shit! Is the Island Nation still not done embarrassing themselves? They actually sent him all the way here?]
Viewers showed zero respect for Nakajima Misaki, openly mocking him without a shred of goodwill.
And to make things even funnier, Landon flat-out rejected their participation.
This was his home, after all. He had every right to decide who could stay and who had to leave.
"Tell them they’re not welcome. Send them back," Landon ordered coldly.
The butler nodded and turned back toward the gate to kick them out.
Landon’s decisive move had viewers cheering.
[Landon’s the man! I’m really starting to like this guy!]
[Haha! Nakajima Misaki is so pathetic—played like a fool by Kaitō Kid and now getting shut out like garbage!]
[Baka yarou! Our great Nakajima Chief is here to help, and you’re refusing him?]
[What the hell? This is Landon’s house, not the Island Nation!]
[Oh my god! If your great Chief Nakajima dares to force his way in, he’ll be arrested on the spot—what a joke!]
Nakajima Misaki and his team were completely stunned when they heard that Landon had denied their involvement. Rage boiled in his chest.
"Please tell Mr. Landon that we’re here to help capture Kaitō Kid. We’ve already coordinated with Eagle Nation authorities!" Nakajima insisted.
But the butler shook his head repeatedly.
"Sorry, but this is Mr. Landon’s home. Without his permission, no one gets in."
"You should all head back."
The butler didn’t care whether they’d coordinated with anyone. His loyalty was to Landon, and only Landon.
Being shut out like that filled Nakajima with rage. But he knew this was Eagle Nation territory, and he needed their cooperation. He had no choice but to swallow his anger and try again.
"Please let me speak to Mr. Landon. I can explain everything to him!"
The butler stood firm behind the gate, his face blank as he shook his head again.
That dismissive attitude made Nakajima tremble with anger.
"Baka yarou! There’s an old saying in the Dragon Nation: A wise man submits to circumstances!"
"I advise you not to be so short-sighted! We’re here to help you catch Kaitō Kid!"
"Do you really think you can catch him with just this small team? Do you have any idea how cunning he is?"
