Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth
Chapter 1109 - 488: Suspicion
"The mastermind behind Isa Redman's kidnapping case was Hugo Joduri, who ended up getting shot dead."
"According to other suspects' confessions, he was the one who contacted the victim's father and also claimed to be Mr. V. As for why he called himself Mr. V, his accomplices did not know."
Anthony pondered, "You suspect Hugo Joduri's claim of being Mr. V is related to the blood-stained letter V discovered on the yacht in the kidnapping case of the real estate tycoon's son, Little Gary Sane?"
Luke replied, "But both cases are related to the V letter; this is likely not a coincidence.
If Hugo Joduri was really involved in Little Gary Sane's kidnapping case, I think he wouldn't need to deliberately remind the police to connect the two cases, and we also haven't found any clues linking Hugo Joduri to Little Gary Sane's kidnapping case.
My guess is, Hugo Joduri might have considered the possibility of the family reporting to the police."
"He called himself Mr. V likely to create a misunderstanding, leading the police to think the people who kidnapped Isa Redman were the same as those who kidnapped Little Gary Sane, thereby misleading the investigation." Luke continued to analyze.
"If my conjecture is correct, it would mean Hugo Joduri wasn't related to the real estate tycoon's son Little Gary Sane's kidnapping case, yet he knew about the blood-stained letter V found on the crime yacht.
I've read all the kidnapping news, and none have reported about the blood-stained letter V. How did he know this crime detail?"
"You're right, this detail hasn't been publicly revealed." Anthony immediately guessed, "Do you think he has something to do with that FBI mole?"
"It's just my speculation, it could also be a coincidence. But as long as there's a possibility, we have to be cautious.
Kidnapping cases are typically investigated by the FBI, and if it weren't for Isa Redman's father having enough influence and persistence, this case wouldn't have been transferred from the FBI to the detective bureau."
"If the FBI were handling this investigation, imagine what the consequences would be."
Anthony's face turned serious, "I will definitely find out that bastard! I swear."
"Waiting for your good news." This is also one of the reasons Luke asked Reid not to disclose the case details temporarily, the mastermind Hugo Joduri is dead, and no one can guarantee if others were involved in the kidnapping case.
Even if there were, the leads are already cut off, and other methods need to be used for investigation.
"Vroom vroom..." A car drove over, stopping by the roadside not far away.
A few big men rushed out from the roadside, opened the car door, holding guns yelled, "FBI!"
"Don't move, raise your hands."
"Hands on your head, get out of the car."
Amidst the shouts, a white man was pushed out of the car. Luke went over to check, and this man looked very similar to the sketch he made.
The white man was pinned to the ground and frisked, handcuffed, and then dragged by two agents to Luke and Anthony's side.
Luke raised his chin and smirked, "Hey, boy, do you still recognize me?"
The white man's face changed slightly and then calmed down, letting out a sigh of relief.
Anthony laughed, "Is he underestimating you? Why do I feel he seems more relaxed after seeing you."
"Shut up." Luke glanced at him and continued asking, "What's your name?"
"Colin Pereira."
"Do you know why you are seized?"
"No."
"Answered very crisply." Luke looked serious, "We suspect you have participated in a kidnapping case. Please come with us for investigation."
Colin Pereira probed, "Do you have an arrest warrant?"
Anthony shook his head, "No, we don't need that thing."
Upon hearing this, Colin Pereira did not relax but instead started trembling, "I really didn't participate in any kidnapping case, I was just traveling in Hawaii."
Luke said, "You should know who I am, I'm standing right in front of you, the FBI is also here, yet you're still lying.
Do you think I'm a fool or taking him as an idiot?"
Anthony laughed, showing his big white teeth, "Those who took me as an idiot usually have gone to meet God.
No, it should be Satan.
God wouldn't accept those wicked bastards." He pointed to the pitch-black wasteland around, "Want to pick your own spot?"
Colin Pereira glanced at Luke, then at Anthony, "No, I don't want trouble, I didn't participate in the kidnapping case.
I admit I took on a commission, that's all."
Luke pressed further, "What commission?"
Colin Pereira sighed, "Someone hired me to prevent you from returning to Los Angeles."
"Why?"
"I don't know."
"Who told you to do this?"
"I..." Colin Pereira looked distressed, after a long struggle he said, "I didn't ask her name, she's a middle-aged white woman, she has red hair, wearing a very beautiful diamond necklace, very generous."
"Are you sure the hair is red?"
"Yes."
Anthony took out his phone, pulled up a picture, "Is it her?"
"Yes, it's her."
Luke also took the phone and looked, "Who is she?"
Anthony whispered, "Little Gary Sane's mother."
"Are you sure she's his biological mother?"
"Little Gary Sane also has red hair." Anthony said, patting Colin Pereira's shoulder, "Buddy, thank you, the clue you provided is important.
Also, I just told a kind lie, we do have an arrest warrant."
Hearing Anthony, Colin Pereira visibly relaxed, wiping the sweat off his forehead, "I really am not involved in the kidnapping case, I'm telling the truth, I'm just a detective, that's all."
Anthony said, "Whether you know it or not, you were indeed suspected of being involved in a kidnapping case, which is very disadvantageous to you."
"Hey, I know the rules, just tell me what you need me to do. As long as it leads to a favorable plea agreement."
Seeing the person become so accommodating, Anthony laughed, "Buddy, I'm starting to like you a bit."
