Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth
Chapter 946 - 431: Conflict (Part 3)
Luke said, "We're here to do business, and peace is the most valuable thing.
Last time was our fault, we're willing to compensate you 500 US dollars and let this matter rest. What do you think?
We are very sincere."
"Five hundred US dollars is too little, I want one thousand," Blue Hair listened to the approaching sirens, his voice slightly shaky, but he couldn't back down in front of his underlings; backing down would mean losing all his dignity.
"I'll give it," Li Zhaonian quickly pulled out one thousand US dollars in cash and handed it to Blue Hair.
"Smart move, we're leaving."
Blue Hair waved his hand, signaling his underlings to leave, and said to Luke on the side, "Think wisely about what you say to the cops. If you involve us, you'll regret it."
"Don't worry, we'll handle it."
Blue Hair and a few of his underlings left the restaurant, and upon seeing a police car not far away, quickly ran in the opposite direction.
The pockmarked little underling asked, "Blue Brother, is that it?"
"Hell no, a thousand bucks to placate the boss, this ain't over.
If you're willing to follow me, I certainly won't let you down.
Not only will we eat and drink well in the future, we'll buy sports cars and hang out with foreign girls, haha..." Blue Hair began painting a rosy picture for his group of underlings.
Zhang Qilong's death wasn't necessarily a bad thing for him.
He didn't really want to do anything to Luke, Li Zhaonian, and the others, but being bullied by Luke last time, if he didn't reclaim his position, which underling would still want to follow him?
This time, he not only regained face but also got some benefits, which was a good start.
After a group of hooligans left, Will came out of the restaurant, said a few words to two patrol officers, and they also drove away.
Will returned to the restaurant, looking somewhat grim, "Brother, these hooligans bullied us too much, even pulling out guns and extorting a thousand US dollars.
If it were only this time, it would be okay, but I'm afraid they won't keep their word and will come back to extort the restaurant again."
Yao Xin also showed a worried expression, "Yes, I heard that Blue Hair said they will smash us every time we fix up the place; how can we do business then?
If it really doesn't work, let's call the police."
Li Zhaonian also felt that Luke was different today. However, with more experience, he wasn't as anxious as his wife and son, "Luke, what do you plan to do?"
Luke pulled up a chair to sit down, "Uncle, have you eaten yet?"
"Who has the time?"
"Let's get something to eat, we can talk while we eat."
Seeing Luke still calm enough to eat, Yao Xin felt more at ease and nodded, "There's something ready, I'll get it."
Will brewed a pot of tea and poured a cup for Luke, "Brother, what exactly are you planning?"
Luke said, "Solving this matter isn't difficult at all. The simplest way is for me to reveal my identity as a consultant for Fober.
But there's a hidden issue. I'm not often in New York, so what will you folks do when I'm gone?
Also, you just went undercover with the Flying Dragon Gang.
If the Flying Dragon Gang found out about our relationship, would they suspect you?
Although the possibility isn't high, there's no need to take that risk."
Thinking of the ways the Flying Dragon Gang deals with undercover agents, Will's face looked grim.
Actually, the reason Luke didn't reveal his identity with Fober has another crucial reason.
He still needs an informant in New York to handle some dirty work.
This Blue Hair may not have much standing now, but after Zhang Qilong's death, if he's able to rise through the ranks smoothly, he could become a small gang leader, giving Luke another line of sight in He Sheng Hall.
If Luke revealed Fober's identity, his few underlings would recognize Luke, and thinking about how the Flying Dragon Gang cleans up undercover agents, Luke thought it would be better to keep a low profile.
Luke picked up the teacup, took a sip to soothe his throat, "There's another more stable method.
Blue Hair came looking for trouble because all he wants is face and tangible benefits.
Earlier in front of his underlings, we gave him plenty of face, stabilizing his 'boss' status.
We just need to privately make sure he gets his tangible benefits."
Li Zhaonian frowned, "Approximately how much will it cost?"
"Uncle, these tangible benefits don't necessarily mean money, leave it to me."
"There won't be any danger, will there?"
"Don't worry about it, it's nothing," Luke said nonchalantly.
Will, having spent some days as a low-level gangster, knew they were difficult to deal with, "Brother, maybe I should go with you."
"No need, I can handle it alone." Luke had seen many major storms; a small thug didn't even register on his radar.
After a while, Yao Xin brought out some quick dishes, pre-braised fragrant donkey meat, stir-fried chili egg, fresh vegetable hearts, and sour and spicy shredded potatoes, with rice as the main dish.
Not many dishes, but in sufficient quantity, enough for four them.
...
A fast-moving red Toyota sedan played a familiar tune.
[Hands that cannot be described
Always bringing warmth from behind
Always caring despite the nagging
Too guilty to appreciate...]
A few tone-deaf men wailed in the car.
It was Blue Hair and his gang.
They all had been drinking, feeling wild and hyped up.
Blue Hair, a bit drunk, sat proudly in the passenger seat, waving his right hand, "Brothers, wasn't today awesome or what."
"Awesome."
"Is that Maotai fragrant or what?"
"Fragrant."
"Are the foreign girls attractive or what?"
"Attractive."
"I'll just say it now, as long as you follow me, Blue Brother will lead you to eat and drink well in the future, got it?"
"Got it."
After shouting a bunch of slogans, Blue Hair became increasingly pleased with himself, thinking that all the time he'd spent hustling had finally paid off.
Even though he doesn't have many men under him, he's still a boss now.
The years of hustling weren't in vain after all.
The red Toyota stopped beneath an apartment building, Blue Hair staggered out of the car, waved and said, "Brothers, I'm home.
See you tomorrow, I'll lead you to make money, alright?"
"Make money!"
"Make money!"
"Blue Brother, take it slow."
The chubby thug saw that he was unsteady on his feet, "Blue Brother, want me to walk you upstairs?"
"Screw that, this little bit of alcohol is nothing," Blue Hair snorted and turned to walk towards the apartment, waving his hand from behind.
It was an old-style apartment with seven floors; Blue Hair had lived there for many years. Although drunk, he was still used to the route, so getting home wasn't a problem.
Blue Hair reached the door, took out his key to unlock it, fumbled a few times before finally opening the lock.
He entered the apartment room and was about to close the door.
The door didn't budge.
Blue Hair, already not thinking clearly from the alcohol, wanted to open the door to see what was wrong.
As soon as he opened the door, he saw someone standing there.
In the next moment, that person lunged, grabbed his arm, and before he could fight back, he felt a tremendous force throwing him backward.
With a "bang," Blue Hair was slammed to the ground, feeling as if his bones were about to break; he was both shocked and furious, gritting his teeth in pain.
Suddenly, the lights turned on.
Someone walked over, standing directly above Blue Hair.
Seeing who it was, Blue Hair was startled, "It's you."
Luke greeted with a smile, "Good evening, Blue Brother."
Blue Hair reached for his gun in his pocket, and just as he pulled it out.
Luke kicked his wrist, and the gun flew away.
"Put your little toy aside, I'll show you something different." Luke cuffed him, grabbed his blue hair, and dragged him straight into the bathroom.
