Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth
Chapter 985 - 444: Captured (Part 2)
Luke studied the map of Savitor Street, deep in thought.
Although Brown Bryant is white, he grew up in a Black community. However, he does not like the Black community; instead, he harbors extreme hatred for Black people. This supermarket shooting was not just targeted at Roger's Supermarket, but at the entire Black community.
A white kid growing up in a Black family, with Black neighbors and playmates, and attending a school named after Luther King—his path must have been filled with discrimination and loneliness. This might be the real motive behind him creating the shooting incident.
The school!
Luther King Junior High School is also near Savitor Street.
There are more Black people here than at the supermarket, and the impact of a shooting incident would be much greater. When you put yourself in his shoes, it's undoubtedly an ideal location for committing a crime.
...
Luther King Junior High School, security room.
A burly Black campus police officer was drinking coffee.
"Zzzz…" The walkie-talkie clipped to his waist beeped.
The Black officer picked up the walkie-talkie, "This is the security room of Luther King Junior High School. I'm Officer Kurt.
Hello, officer. Is there anything wrong?
What! Are you sure?
Received, I'll stay alert. Should we evacuate the students immediately?"
"Bang!" A loud noise came from outside.
Officer Kurt looked out the window and saw a black Ford car crash through the school gate and rush into the campus.
Kurt requested support through the walkie-talkie, drew his handgun, and dashed out of the security room.
The black Ford did not stop after entering the school but instead rampaged towards the crowd, causing a stir of screams around.
"Bang!"
A Black student who couldn't dodge in time was hit and thrown by the car.
"Hahaha…" The car window of the black Volvo rolled down, revealing a person wearing a skeletal mask. Judging by the voice, it seemed to be a man.
The skeletal mask man stepped out of the car, holding an AK47, which scared off the students who originally planned to confront him.
"Bang bang…" The skeletal mask man fired into the crowd, hitting a Black student in the thigh.
The Black student fell to the ground, crying out in pain, letting out a desperate howl, "Ah… help me, please, someone help me."
However, his pleas were in vain, as the other students had fled, none daring to risk being shot to help.
"Ugly monkey, I'll send you to meet God now." The skeletal mask man showed no mercy, stepping forward with an AK47 ready to finish him off.
"No, please don't kill me!" The Black student begged again, crawling forward with difficulty, appearing extremely pitiable.
The skeletal mask man hesitated for a moment, but still aimed his gun at the injured Black student.
"Police, don't move!"
A voice rang out from a distance, accompanied by gunfire, "Bang bang bang…"
The skeletal mask man was hit in the back, the force knocking him to the ground. However, he was wearing a bulletproof vest and wasn't injured critically.
He rolled on the ground a few times, taking cover behind the Volvo car, and looked toward the shooter.
It was a Black campus police officer, tall and heavyset, holding a handgun that looked almost like a toy.
"Bang bang bang…"
The skeletal mask man began to fight back, unleashing the full power of his AK47, with gunfire erupting fiercely.
The Black officer Kurt also attempted to return fire, resulting in a shootout.
The skeletal mask man, using a rifle, had superior firepower, pinning Officer Kurt down, making him hide behind a trash can.
"Bang!" A rifle bullet pierced through the trash can and struck Officer Kurt in the right shoulder.
"Ah!"
Officer Kurt let out a painful scream, dropping his handgun to the ground.
Kurt's marksmanship was decent and he had done his best, but his equipment was far inferior to the gunman, leaving him injured instead.
The skeletal mask man rubbed his back; although the vital parts were unharmed, he was still in excruciating pain, "Fuck! How dare you, damn monkey, shoot at me? You're dead!"
The skeletal mask man stepped out from behind the Volvo, preparing to kill Officer Kurt.
Kurt's right shoulder was injured, impacting his right hand, making it impossible to hold the handgun. Despite the searing pain, he picked up the gun with his left hand. In this situation, his accuracy was pitifully low, but he refused to sit idle.
"Woo…" Just at that moment, two cars entered the school gates.
"LAPD!"
"Police, drop your gun!" Luke arrived at Luther King Junior High School just in time with his team.
The Black officer breathed a sigh of relief.
"Bang bang bang…" The skeletal mask man immediately responded, firing back!
He hid behind the Volvo car, indiscriminately spraying the LAPD with his AK47.
After emptying a magazine, he reloaded and continued firing at the police.
He hid behind the Volvo car, wearing a bulletproof helmet and vest, with enough firepower that capturing him wasn't easy for the police.
Little Black peeked out, fired two shots, but due to the distance, the effect was negligible. He turned to Luke and said, "Captain, should I take someone around the back?"
Luke surveyed the surrounding terrain; it was quite open, with no cover or obstructions. The most important aspect of flanking was concealment; otherwise, if discovered by the gunman, they would become moving targets.
Considering the safety concerns, Luke rejected Little Black's suggestion, "There's no cover here, making flanking unlikely to succeed. Plus, he's wearing a bulletproof vest; even if we flank him, it will be hard to subdue him."
