CHAPTER 76: CHAPTER 76;DON’T COME NEAR ME...

Bai Zhi gasped, her eyes wide with shock and terror as her teacup slipped from her fingers, shattering against the carpeted floor with a muffled crack.

Shen Xuan froze at the foot of the bed, staring at his mother in horror. His small hands trembled violently as tears welled up in his wide, confused eyes.

"Mommy... Mommy, what are you doing?! Let Mommy Zhi go!" he screamed, his tiny fists pounding desperately against Yueyao’s leg. "You are bad! You are so bad! Mommy Zhi didn’t do anything! She even brought breakfast for you.."

But Yueyao’s mind was beyond reason.

Her tears fell silently as she pressed the knife tightly against Bai Zhi’s throat, feeling the woman’s body trembling violently under her grip.

"Shut up!" Yueyao suddenly screamed, her voice cracking into a shrill, ragged edge. Her tears spilled over, dripping hot against her trembling chin as she pressed the knife even tighter against Bai Zhi’s neck.

"Just... shut up, Shen Xuan! I don’t want to hear your voice... I don’t want to hear it...".

Shen Xuan froze, his tear-streaked little face crumpling with fear and confusion. He let out a small, broken sob as he stumbled back, clutching the edge of the bed for support, his tiny shoulders shaking violently.

The commotion in the bedroom reached the ears of the guards stationed just outside the hallway. Within seconds, the double doors burst open as several men in black tactical suits rushed inside, their hands instinctively reaching for the concealed weapons under their jackets.

But the moment they saw Yueyao standing there barefoot, her thin frame trembling violently as she held Bai Zhi in a choking grip with the knife pressed against her neck, they froze in place.

Their eyes flicked to her wild, tear-streaked gaze, a gaze filled with so much raw desperation and broken rage that it sent a cold shiver down their spines.

"Step back," Yueyao hissed, her voice dangerously low and hoarse. "All of you... step back..."

The guards exchanged wary glances. They could see it clearly, the way her hand trembled but didn’t waver, the unfocused panic in her glassy eyes, the silent tears rolling down her bruised cheeks.

She was at the end.

She could kill.

Slowly, cautiously, the guards took small steps backward, raising their hands slightly in a placating gesture as they stepped out through the doors, giving her a wide path towards the corridor.

Yueyao’s chest heaved with ragged, silent sobs as she shuffled forward, dragging Bai Zhi with her. Her bare feet stepped over the shattered porcelain shards scattered across the plush carpet, smearing tiny trails of blood where the sharp pieces cut into her skin.

The cold morning breeze swept into the room from the open hallway, brushing against her sweat-dampened hair as she stepped out into the wide corridor.

Her blurred eyes darted left and right, taking in the line of guards standing tensely against the cream marble walls. Each one watched her with silent, cautious focus, their earpieces crackling faintly with rapid instructions.

But no one moved.

No one dared to approach her.

She tightened her grip on Bai Zhi’s neck, feeling the woman’s soft sobs and trembling chest against her arm as she pressed the blade even harder against her throat.

"Don’t... don’t come near me..." she whispered, her voice trembling like a dying flame. "I will kill her... I swear to God... I will kill her..."

As she shuffled forward, her bare feet slipping slightly against the polished marble, the guards began to shift subtly, moving to form a tight semi-circle around her, blocking every possible exit.
