Love Apartment: Tomb Raiding System
Chapter 40
Chapter 40: Where Is the Fatal Spot?
“Yuze!”
“Brother!”
Hu Yifei was the first to react. Seeing Chen Yuze cough up blood, her fury became uncontrollable. No matter what, Chen Yuze had gotten injured saving her. At this moment, Hu Yifei felt an unprecedented rage. The safety of the Love Apartment group had always been her responsibility, and now Chen Yuze had gotten hurt protecting her. She felt humiliated—yet deeply moved.
“Yifei, watch out!” Just then, Chen Yuze noticed the creature attacking Hu Yifei’s position again. Like a black lightning bolt, it shot toward her. Chen Yuze could only shout a warning—his body still hadn’t recovered enough to move. sea??h thё N??elFirё.net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
“Looking to die.” Hu Yifei saw the incoming black shadow and bent backward, narrowly dodging the attack. She finally got a clear look at the thing—it was a black snake tail, as thick as a bowl. And this was just the tail—the sheer size of the creature was terrifying.
The shadowy tail recoiled after missing its strike, but Hu Yifei had no intention of letting it escape. She pulled out her golden dagger and stabbed hard into the tail, but the blade barely sank five centimeters in. She hadn’t expected the golden dagger to be so ineffective. Without hesitation, she grabbed the retreating tail with both arms.
The tail thrashed violently, but Hu Yifei’s grip was unbreakable. She tightened her hold and roared, “Come out!”
With a fierce yank, she lifted the entire tail—and with it, the upper half of the giant serpent. She swung the massive snake through the air in a full circle before slamming it to the side. Old Hu and Fatty helped Chen Yuze up, who was now barely able to move.
“Holy shit, this thing is way too damn big!” Fatty finally got a good look at the serpent. Its head was the size of a human skull, and its thickest part was wider than a thigh. The giant snake reared up, locking its gaze on Hu Yifei, who stood firm, golden dagger in her left hand and a sword in her right, staring back without fear.
“Don’t worry about me, I’m fine. Go help!” Chen Yuze couldn’t stay idle—this thing was monstrous. Its sheer size meant it could swallow all four of them without choking. This was no joke.
“Brother, stay safe. Fatty, let’s go!” Old Hu helped Chen Yuze to the side, drew his command saber, and charged. Fatty fixed his bayonet to his rifle and followed. They knew running wasn’t an option—they’d never outpace this thing. If they didn’t kill it, they’d all die.
Suddenly, the serpent lunged, its gaping mouth revealing fangs as long as palms, aiming to swallow Hu Yifei whole. Despite its size, it moved like lightning.
Hu Yifei didn’t panic. She rolled aside, dodging the strike, then swung her sword and dagger at the serpent’s body. But the snake’s scales were incredibly tough—the blades barely left shallow cuts.
Old Hu and Fatty didn’t hold back either, circling around to attack the serpent’s body. But their efforts barely made a dent—only chipping a few scales.
“Damn it, how the hell do we fight this thing?” Fatty was frustrated. Their attacks were like tickling the beast.
The serpent seemed enraged. Its tail lashed out, sending Old Hu and Fatty flying. They barely managed to block with their weapons, but the force sent them tumbling across the ground. Hu Yifei, however, leaped out of harm’s way.
Ignoring her, the serpent turned toward Old Hu and Fatty, its jaws snapping. The two men hadn’t regained their footing, and Fatty’s rifle had shattered in the last blow. They had no way to fight back—only to desperately evade.
At the critical moment, Hu Yifei struck. She spotted the serpent’s tail, leaped, and drove her golden dagger down with her full weight. This time, the blade pierced through, pinning the tail to the ground. The serpent shrieked in pain, abandoning its attack on the others and turning on Hu Yifei.
As the massive head shot toward her, Hu Yifei jumped high, twisting mid-air to land squarely on the serpent’s skull. Without hesitation, she plunged her sword deep into its head, gripping the hilt with both hands and pushing down with all her strength.
The serpent let out a deafening screech, thrashing wildly. It flailed around the hall, smashing everything in its path. Old Hu and Fatty seized the chance to attack relentlessly, while Hu Yifei clung to the embedded sword, knowing the serpent couldn’t reach her there.
The serpent’s violent struggles tore its tail free from the dagger, leaving a bloody, mangled mess on the ground. The pain only made it thrash harder.
“Old Hu, Fatty—aim for the seven-inch spot!” Chen Yuze grew anxious. If this continued, the hall wouldn’t hold, and the collapsing ceiling would bury them all in flames. They had to finish this fast.
“Where the hell is the seven-inch spot on this thing?!” Fatty stared at the massive serpent. With its enormous size, how were they supposed to find it? By the time they did, the damn thing would’ve already swallowed them whole.
The serpent seemed to hear Chen Yuze’s words—or maybe it just spotted him first. Either way, it abandoned the other three and charged straight at him.
“Brother, watch out!” Old Hu shouted in alarm. They all remembered Chen Yuze was still injured—this was no time for jokes.
