CHAPTER 49: CHAPTER 50: LIKE A TRANSPARENT PERSON 1

At the banquet, Brandan Hyde was playing carelessly.

Alex Hawk saw his pensive look and didn’t bother him, letting him be alone.

Brandan Hyde leaned against the corner with a forbidding expression, quietly contemplating.

What was wrong with him?

He inexplicably really wanted to see that person.

Like he was possessed.

He couldn’t find a reason, couldn’t find a reason to see Iris Harris, but he couldn’t deceive his heart.

He had to admit, he was thinking about her.

So, when Viola Harris called and asked if he wanted to come over for dinner at her house tomorrow because Iris Harris would be coming home, and she hoped he could come to accompany her, Brandan Hyde agreed immediately.

After chatting with Viola Harris and hanging up, Brandan Hyde’s cold demeanor finally warmed up, and he happily greeted Alex Hawk, "I’m going home."

Alex Hawk was flirting with a socialite, and upon hearing Brandan Hyde’s words, turned his head in confusion, only to see Brandan Hyde, who had a cold air just a moment ago, now leaving with a smiling and cheerful face.

This guy, what’s been up with him lately...

So unpredictable.

Alex Hawk felt a bit puzzled.

*************************

After graduating from university, Iris Harris joined the Harris Clan to work for the Harris family.

She bought a small villa near the company as her residence and returned to the Harris home once a month to have dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Harris.

Just like a routine task.

As time passed, her connection with the Harris family grew weaker; aside from her monthly visit home, throughout the year, she hardly met with anyone from the Harris family.

Today was the day she was to return to the Harris home.

After work, Iris Harris leaned back in her office chair, tiredly rubbing her temples.

Recently, the company has been busy, and she hasn’t taken a break for a long time.

Even concerning Brandan Hyde, she hasn’t spent much time thinking about him.

Not thinking about him unexpectedly brought Iris Harris a sense of relief.

Without realizing when, Brandan Hyde gradually became a burden in her heart.

Iris Harris rubbed her swollen temples, a bit confused by her mental shift.

As the sun gradually set, Iris Harris sighed, stood up from her office chair, and walked out with her briefcase.

After work, the streets were crowded; cars stopped and started, taking an hour to finally park in the Harris family’s courtyard.

Iris Harris got out of the car and noticed a black Cayenne parked on the lawn. Her gaze slightly concentrated as she looked toward the hall.

In the hall, Viola Harris and Brandan Hyde were sitting on the sofa, talking about something, both with smiles on their faces.

Mrs. Harris stood nearby, smiling at them, her gaze full of deep love and indulgence.

Nearby, a servant walked over, whispering a few words in Mrs. Harris’s ear, probably about her return. Mrs. Harris’s gaze left Viola and Brandan and looked over.

That look instantly turned indifferent.

"You’re back?"

Mrs. Harris came over and nodded lightly at her.

"Yes."

Iris Harris handed her briefcase to a servant and responded, "Dad hasn’t returned yet; I’ll go rest in the study and come down when it’s time for dinner."

Mrs. Harris’s face resembled Viola’s, both being the bright and moving type. Although now faded with age, her well-maintained appearance looked like a woman in her thirties.
