CHAPTER 60: CHAPTER 60: MISS MORRIS AND PRESIDENT SEYS HAD AN UNPLEASANT ENCOUNTER?

"Valeria Johnson, you better be smart and not mess with me! If you anger me, it won’t just be a slap in the face! If you don’t want to see me, fine, go talk to HR yourself and get a different assistant! I don’t like you either, so we don’t have to be an eyesore to each other!"

"Valeria Johnson, have you forgotten how I was a brash kid? When I fought gang fights with Arlo Seys and the others, you were still in the classroom reading your textbooks! Let me tell you, that fearlessness of mine, Ariel Morris, is still in my bones! Even if you’re going to be Arlo Seys’ future wife, I’m telling you, no one can predict the future! There are plenty of variables!"

"Are you saying that you, Ariel Morris, are the variable? Ariel Morris, where do you get the confidence that Young Master Seys would still want you?" Valeria Johnson sneered.

Ariel Morris chuckled softly, "You really don’t need to worry about whether I can win over Arlo Seys! If I haven’t won over Arlo Seys, it’s a matter between him and me, it’s our emotional debt! And if I do win over Arlo Seys..." Ariel Morris leaned closer to Valeria Johnson, smiling exceptionally gently, but her eyes held a cold gleam, "If I win over Arlo Seys, I definitely won’t invite you to the wedding, so I don’t have to be an eyesore to myself!"

"You!" Valeria Johnson glared at Ariel Morris’ charming smile, her expression twisted, "I won’t give Young Master Seys to you! Ariel Morris, if it weren’t for the support of Scenic Hill’s three young masters (Arlo Seys---Dawn Sutherland---Nico Haynes), you couldn’t possibly have won that school beauty pageant back then! I wouldn’t have lost to you at all! Whether it’s talent or looks, I’m better than you, Valeria Johnson!"

"Valeria Johnson, you’re really funny, do relationships depend on talent and looks? If you think you’re better than me, then stop targeting me at every turn, it makes me wrongly assume you’re actually insecure, feeling inferior to me, and that’s why you play those little tricks!"

Valeria Johnson was struck speechless by Ariel Morris, unable to respond.

She was indeed worried that Arlo Seys’ lingering feelings for Ariel Morris would make her a target everywhere to force her to quit Era on her own! Who would have guessed Ariel Morris would be so shameless, and who knew Ariel Morris could be so eloquent!

She pulled her hand back with force from Ariel Morris’ grip, gave Ariel one last glare, and spat out, "We’ll see about that," before strutting away in her high heels.

Just as Valeria Johnson left, Ariel Morris received a call from the HR department, asking her to come over.

Ariel Morris went to the HR department, her face full of confusion.

When Ariel Morris arrived, she was led to Supervisor Rowen Liston’s office.

"Supervisor Liston, did you need to see me?" Ariel Morris asked with a polite smile.

Rowen Liston glanced at her, took a moment to organize his words, and then spoke in a cold tone, "Miss Morris, I’m sorry, but based on your performance over the past few days, you do not meet the requirements for employment at Era."

Ariel Morris was instantly stunned.

Does the supervisor mean Era doesn’t want her anymore? Was it Valeria Johnson who reported her?

"Why?" She looked at the HR supervisor, asking dryly.

Rowen Liston paused, not answering directly but instead asking, "Did Miss Morris have... a less than pleasant interaction with our President Seys?"

This morning, he happened to run into this young employee in the elevator. He didn’t have a good impression of this employee to start with. Unexpectedly, the usually composed President Seys left the elevator and stormed into his office with an icy face, giving him a thorough earful! It was terrifying to the extreme!
