CHAPTER 27: CHAPTER010 WILD BEES AND BUTTERFLIES
One week later, the band meeting.
At noon after class, Su Wan received a call from Fu Weiheng. His deep, rich voice came from the other end of the line: "I’m at your school. Wait for me in front of the teaching building after class. The location for the afternoon meeting has been changed at the last minute."
Su Wan’s first reaction after hearing him was that he was at her school. The second reaction was that the meeting location had been changed unexpectedly.
"Changed location?"
"Yeah."
Then Su Wan heard a burst of noise from the other end of the phone, growing louder and louder.
Fu Weiheng had just stepped out of a certain office and coincidentally ran into students after class. Ever since the last lecture, everyone at Quanyin College knew Fu Weiheng. Seeing him in the flesh now only added to the excitement, with groups of students flocking around him.
Fu Weiheng frowned slightly, feeling somewhat uncomfortable with the crowd that suddenly gathered around him. He hurriedly said over the phone, "We’ll talk when we meet."
The busy signal came from the other end of the line, and before Su Wan could react, she had... agreed to the invitation? Confused but compliant, she still made a call to Yao Ye to let her know she wouldn’t be returning to the dorm at noon.
"You’re not coming back?" Yao Ye spoke with a mouthful of food, her words muffled.
"Yeah, the location has been changed at the last minute. I’ll just grab something to eat outside." She turned and headed to the teaching building.
"Oh, alright then..."
"Wanwan!" The sharp voice belonging to Xu Chengyang came from the other end, "Bring me back some fried chicken when you return! I love you!"
Su Wan lazily responded, "Ah Yang, aren’t you on a diet?"
"Diet for what!" Xu Chengyang shouted loudly, "Am I that fat, Su Wan! You need to explain!"
"..."
Faced with Xu Chengyang’s counter-attack, Su Wan had no choice but to agree quickly.
When she arrived at the entrance of the teaching building, Fu Weiheng had not yet come out. While waiting, she took out the "History of Western Music" she borrowed from the library this morning and flipped through it.
A tall figure suddenly appeared, blocking the light. Su Wan thought it was a passerby and didn’t look up, moving aside a couple of steps. To her surprise, the figure moved with her, blocking her again. Unfazed, she moved back, and the figure again moved with her.
Su Wan felt a bit strange, and slightly impatient, she frowned and looked up.
The man in front of her was tall and strong, about six feet tall, wearing a basketball jersey, with a backpack slung over his shoulders. His skin was dark, and when he smiled, his big white teeth were very striking.
Her mind briefly recalled that she was not familiar with this person.
"You’re blocking my light," she reminded him in a calm voice.
The man grinned, "Hey classmate, let’s make friends."
Su Wan ignored him, silently turning to walk along the stone path.
"I’m from the Physical Education College, my name is Li Yu." He ran in front of her, blocking her way.
Su Wan didn’t respond.
"I saw your performance at the student report show last term."
The surrounding people’s gazes gathered, and Su Wan lost her patience, intending to leave. As she looked up, she first noticed a tall figure approaching from the distance.
Then, that figure stopped at a slant behind Li Yu.
Su Wan was stunned.
"Hey classmate," Li Yu hadn’t noticed the anomaly behind him. He lowered his head shyly, "You looked really beautiful when you played the violin..."
"Excuse me, please."
A deep, cold voice interrupted him, prompting Li Yu to curse internally about who was so clueless, and he turned his head, only to find an unfamiliar man standing behind him.
And this man outmatched him by far, both in appearance and height.
The stone path was not narrow; it was wide enough for three people to walk side by side. Li Yu was only occupying part of the path. But the man’s powerful aura left Li Yu with little confidence, so he moved a bit to make way for Fu Weiheng.
Su Wan’s gaze fell on Fu Weiheng. He was wearing a long dark blue patterned jacket, zipped to the top, slightly covering his fair neck. He looked elegant and handsome.
She had to admit, Fu Weiheng’s taste in clothing was really appealing, or perhaps it was because he looked good, making everything look good on him.
Hmm, she seemed to be getting more and more superficial.
For a moment, Su Wan found the other figure at her side quite annoying. With a furrow of her brow, not waiting for Fu Weiheng to speak, she directly went forward and took hold of Fu Weiheng’s arm: "Let’s go if you’re ready."
Fu Weiheng was a bit taken aback by Su Wan’s proactive move, but then he chuckled softly.
Using him as a shield again. Hmm, it seems she’ll get used to it with more practice.
