CHAPTER 39: CHAPTER 014 THE UNINVITED_3
At this moment, a few female students passed by and politely greeted Jiang Zhiyan: "Hello, Mr. Jiang."
Jiang Zhiyan nodded in response.
Xu Chengyang was surprised: "Mr. Jiang? Are you teaching at our university?"
Jiang Zhiyan: "Yes, the law school."
Xu Chengyang mumbled in confusion to Su Wan, leaning close to her ear: "That’s strange, how could I not know there’s such a handsome teacher at school? Wanwan, have you seen him at school?"
Su Wan shook her head: "Haven’t seen him..."
Xu Chengyang was not exactly whispering, so Jiang Zhiyan almost heard everything, and he smiled, explaining: "I just returned to the country recently, and I occasionally come here to substitute classes."
Xu Chengyang understood and smiled instantly: "Then I must crash your class!"
Su Wan looked around, remaining silent.
Jiang Zhiyan maintained his smile and didn’t say more: "You’re welcome to join. I have some things to do, so I’ll be leaving first."
Xu Chengyang waved cheerfully: "Goodbye, Lawyer Jiang! Bye-bye!"
Watching the tall figure walk away, Xu Chengyang excitedly took out her phone: "Gotta tell Old Yao, let her join us in crashing the law school classes in the future, hahaha..."
Su Wan kindly reminded: "Did you pass your ideological and political education course?"
Xu Chengyang’s fierce eyes swept over: "Shut up!"
Su Wan: "..."
After leaving the library, the sky had already darkened. The two went back to the dorm to get the electric scooter and planned to go to Pizza Hut. It was rush hour, and the roads were jammed, so Xu Chengyang took a shortcut and turned into a cross alley. The streetlights in the alley were old and flickering, with poor visibility. Xu Chengyang deliberately slowed the scooter and proceeded cautiously.
As they passed the intersection, suddenly, a black sedan emerged unexpectedly from the left. Xu Chengyang, caught off guard, slammed the brakes, and in the next moment, a sharp sound echoed in the nighttime alley. Both of them leaned forward due to inertia, luckily avoiding a crash.
Su Wan’s heart was pounding, and she got off immediately.
The car owner got out of the driver’s seat too. He was a man with a face full of stubble and rough features. He illuminated the front of his car with his phone light, squatted down to examine a small scratch, then looked up at Xu Chengyang and Su Wan with a stern face.
Xu Chengyang quickly went over to check the scratch, awkwardly scratching her head: "Sorry, I didn’t mean to..."
The car owner, with a stern look, retorted angrily: "What if you did it on purpose?"
Xu Chengyang, being impulsive, saw his aggressive demeanor and was about to retort with her chest puffed out. Su Wan, afraid of causing trouble, held her back and spoke calmly to the car owner: "We’re really sorry, we’re willing to cover the repair costs."
Upon hearing the words "compensation," the owner’s expression softened slightly, his eyebrows raised with some arrogance: "Judging by your looks, you seem to be students, so I won’t make things difficult. Just give me two thousand for the repairs."
"Two thousand?" Xu Chengyang exclaimed, "Do you take me for a fool?"
The owner raised his voice: "What’s wrong with two thousand? That’s already cheap for you!"
Xu Chengyang lashed out: "Come on, dude! What are you arrogant about with that shabby Toyota of yours? You think I don’t know cars? A three-centimeter scratch with a tiny bit of paint off, just needs some polishing, and you’re asking two thousand?"
Faced with the owner’s exorbitant demand, Su Wan felt it was somewhat difficult to handle. But she didn’t want to escalate things and patiently said again: "Sir, two thousand is really too much. How about eight hundred?"
"Eight hundred?" The man chuckled as if it was a joke, "Girl, are you kidding me? Thinking you can get away with just eight hundred?"
Su Wan, undeterred, insisted: "But we really don’t have that much money."
The man’s expression changed, he rubbed his chin with a malicious smile: "Eight hundred is fine, but..."
Xu Chengyang, seeing his sleazy expression, sensed something was coming, glared at him angrily: "But what?"
He pointed at Su Wan: "You’ll have to have a couple of drinks with me."
Su Wan was stunned, and before she could get angry or say anything, Xu Chengyang cursed: "Screw you, pervert!"
Then she went up and punched him twice, adding a kick to his groin.
Su Wan: "..."
