Love Symphony: Let Your Heart Beat for Me
Chapter 56 - 22 Hidden Depths
CHAPTER 56: CHAPTER 22 HIDDEN DEPTHS
The temperature at night in Yanchuan during Winter is always significantly lower than during the day. The new moon high in the sky is veiled by thin mist, appearing faintly.
The noise in dorm room 216 gradually quieted down. Su Wan went into the bathroom to wash up, and Xu Chengyang’s clear voice came in from outside: "Wanwan, was it you who covered the bill at KTV last night? How much was it? Let’s split the cost."
Su Wan frowned in confusion upon hearing this, casually wiped her face with a towel, and came out of the bathroom to ask back: "I didn’t cover it... wasn’t it you who paid?"
Xu Chengyang looked bewildered: "...Wasn’t I carried back by you all?"
Yao Ye hit the nail on the head: "Could it have been God who paid?"
Xu Chengyang: "That’s possible!"
Su Wan raised an eyebrow and quietly changed into her pajamas to send a WeChat message to Fu Weiheng.
Perhaps from overeating at dinner, Yao Ye’s stomach faintly ached throughout the night, and she eventually couldn’t hold it in and rushed to the bathroom. Xu Chengyang noticed Su Wan silently go to bed, and suddenly remembered something important: "Wanwan, don’t forget we have the New Year’s Eve party, the string serenade!"
Su Wan came to a realization, finally recalling this matter, and lifted her bed curtain to peek out: "Have you arranged everything?"
"Qiaozi and Ah Min from the next class both said it’s no problem."
Su Wan felt a bit troubled: "...Our group has a major performance in the Yanchuan Theater in March next year, we’ve been busy rehearsing lately, I probably only have evenings and weekends to practice with you guys..."
"Oh, I thought it was something major." Xu Chengyang casually waved his hand, unconcerned, "Don’t I already know your skills? Just focus on rehearsing with the group, Old Mo’s piece isn’t difficult. We’ve all played the parts before, let’s just pull it together before the show, we’ll still wow the audience at the party!"
"...Alright." Su Wan nodded, then remembered something, "Oh, by the way, Fu Weiheng will be performing in March too."
Xu Chengyang paused in his phone scrolling, looking up in disbelief at Su Wan: "What did you say?"
Su Wan said directly: "...It seems like Fu Weiheng is making a comeback."
Yao Ye happened to hear this important sentence as she emerged from the restroom, and was astonished: "Comeback?"
"Finally... finally..." Mr. Xu suddenly sprang onto the bed ladder and grasped Su Wan’s hand, trembling with emotion and quivering lips, "Three years, three whole years! I waited for three years, and you finally came... my son..." Mr. Xu wiped his tears.
Yao Ye turned her head: "Your son?"
Xu Chengyang wiped his tears and then suddenly jerked up: "It’s my god! Enough talk, Wanwan, whether it’s seduction or whatever, even if you have to sleep with God! You must get us two front row tickets!"
Yao Ye ran over and stood on a chair, speaking earnestly: "Best if you did sleep with him!"
Xu Chengyang nodded in strong agreement: "Yeah, get both the love and the money, a total win!"
Su Wan: "..."
After sending Su Wan back to the dorm, Fu Weiheng went straight to the company. There were still more than three months before the concert, and during this time, not only did he have to focus on rehearsing, but he also couldn’t neglect Endless’s business.
Fu Weiheng, naturally proud, strived for perfection in everything he did and did not allow for any oversight to occur.
After reading documents for hours, Fu Weiheng felt a bit drowsy. He raised his hand to rub his brow, closed his eyes for a moment, and then got up to go to the break room.
He made a cup of coffee and returned to sit down when his phone on the table lit up with a message. He picked it up to take a look, and upon seeing the name on the screen, a slight smile naturally curled at his lips.
Swan: "Neil, it’s the weekend tomorrow, shall we have lunch together at noon?"
The drowsiness dissipated by more than half, and with a smile, Fu Weiheng typed back two words: "Rare occasion."
A few minutes later, a reply came back: "What?"
Neil: "Rare for you to ask me out proactively."
Swan: "Reciprocity is a must; you took us to sing, I’ll treat you to dinner ^_^"
Fu Weiheng paused his typing, and a fleeting silhouette of Jiang Zhiyan leaving flashed through his mind before he replied: "I have to go back to the company for overtime tomorrow, wait for me in the dorm, and I’ll pick you up during lunch."
A reply quickly came: "No need to bother, I need to visit the bookstore in the morning, I’ll just come find you at the company when it’s time."
A couple seconds later, another message arrived: "I’ll wait for you downstairs at the company."
Fu Weiheng chuckled: "Alright."
Swan: "Then I’ll rest now, goodnight."
Neil: "Goodnight."
The thick night sky, with moonlight streaming in through the floor-to-ceiling windows onto the carpet, looked as if sprinkled with salt, glistening faintly.
Fu Weiheng stared at that chat log, but couldn’t muster up the will to work.
The next day, Su Wan slept in until late morning and only realized upon getting out of bed that Yao Ye and Xu Chengyang were no longer in the dorm. She glanced at her phone, noticing two new messages in the dorm group chat.
