Love Symphony: Let Your Heart Beat for Me
Chapter 59 - 023 Daily Romance
CHAPTER 59: CHAPTER 023 DAILY ROMANCE
The passersby dispersed, and Su Wan watched the police car go away. She patted her chest with lingering fear, not yet able to catch her breath when she felt a weight on her head, a shadow looming from behind, followed by a clear, familiar voice—
"I didn’t expect my Wanwan to have such a hidden side."
Su Wan turned around abruptly. Fu Weiheng stood behind her, his forearm leisurely resting on her head, his eyes deep and clear.
In that instant, Su Wan felt her legs go weak and she collapsed directly into his arms, still shaken: "...Scared me to death."
Fu Weiheng raised an eyebrow, a hint of a smile playing at his lips. It turns out this seemingly brave little lamb can still be frightened.
He duly wrapped his arms around her, softly asking, "Are you hurt?"
Su Wan, buried in his chest, shook her head and then looked up at him: "Did you see?"
Fu Weiheng raised an eyebrow, confirming silently.
As soon as he stepped out of the elevator, he saw a crowd gathered in front of the company entrance. His first thought was whether something had happened to Su Wan. But just as he ran to the entrance, he saw his little lamb skillfully pin someone to the ground, immobilizing them, and then the patrolling police rushed in to take over. Seeing she was unscathed, he didn’t rush over immediately but instead asked the security guard about the situation, approaching her only after the crowd had dispersed.
Su Wan hit him lightly, pretending to be angry: "Why didn’t you come over!"
Fu Weiheng looked at her wide, almond eyes and kissed her forehead gently: "By the time I came out, you’d already floored the guy."
"Well, it wasn’t me who floored him..." Su Wan turned to point at the splattered coffee all over the ground, "It was that..."
Fu Weiheng stroked her flushed cheek with his thumb, his voice deep: "In the future, when you encounter this kind of situation, keep your distance. What if something happened?"
Su Wan: "Oh..."
Fu Weiheng hadn’t driven, and he led her through two streets, turning into an old alley, finally entering a quaintly decorated small restaurant. On a slightly old bronze signboard were the large characters "Simple Taste." Su Wan craned her neck to look at the sign, followed Fu Weiheng inside, and sat in a relatively secluded spot.
It was mealtime, and a few tables of diners sat scattered around the restaurant. Su Wan glanced at the dishes on the adjacent table, then at the man flipping through the menu in front of her, asking softly, "Are we eating vegetarian?"
Fu Weiheng, without looking up, gave a low "Hmm."
Su Wan’s expression flickered slightly as she lightly tapped the table with her index finger, staying silent.
Fu Weiheng looked up from the menu: "Don’t like it?"
"No." She shook her head, remembering the last time they ate at Magic Club. Then, mimicking his nonchalant manner from before, she said, "I have money."
Fu Weiheng: "..."
Su Wan raised an eyebrow, waving the small purse in her hand, a proud smile curling her lips.
Mr. Fu lowered his eyes, his tone calm: "In that case, no salary for this month."
Su Wan: "..."
Indeed, a merciless capitalist!
Fu Weiheng ordered four vegetarian dishes, a medicinal broth, and two small plates of cold appetizers. Seeing his familiarity with the dishes, Su Wan casually asked, "Do you come here often?"
Fu Weiheng handed the menu to the waiter and said bluntly, "I’ve been here before with Wei Jin. Don’t worry, I haven’t dined here with anyone else besides them."
Su Wan mumbled, "...I wasn’t worried."
He poured some lemon water from a jug into her glass and suddenly asked, "How did you learn the martial arts?"
Su Wan answered honestly, "My cousin taught me before."
Su Wan’s cousin, Qin Yan, had been learning judo from a young age and once attained the title of a national first-level judo athlete. When Su Wan was in high school, a case of stalkers near the school caused worry as some girls were harassed when leaving night classes. Parents raised concerns, and the school took security measures seriously at the gates.
Upon hearing about it, Qin Yan also dragged her and Qin Mu along, teaching them a few self-defense tricks, saying that it’s better to rely on oneself. In case anything happened, those skills could come in handy. Su Wan practiced a few times, but later gave it up to protect her hands for playing the violin. So earlier, when she used her half-baked martial arts on the thief, she was quite shaky...
"Hmm, teach me a few moves when there’s a chance," Fu Weiheng said, half-smiling, "I might use them on you."
Su Wan: "..."
The dishes arrived one after another, and Fu Weiheng ladled two scoops of medicinal soup into her bowl: "Eat more."
Su Wan responded with an "Oh," picked up her chopsticks, and started eating. When her bowl of rice and dishes was nearly finished, he added more to her bowl. Repeatedly, after a few rounds, he hadn’t eaten much, but Su Wan was genuinely full, holding her bowl in her hands, struggling to swallow the last bite of vegetables, her gaze forlorn: "...Fu Weiheng, are you feeding me like a pig?"
