CHAPTER 62: CHAPTER 024: ONCE UPON A TIME_2

Qiaozi was laughing uproariously, but when he caught sight of Su Wan glaring at Xu Chengyang with resentment, he stifled his laughter.

Xu Chengyang shivered unconsciously: "Why do I feel a chill down my spine..." he said, turning to look back and yelping, "Wanwan! Why do you walk without making a sound! You scared me to death!"

Qiaozi was bent over with laughter.

Su Wan glared at her and walked silently to the side to open the violin case and take out her violin.

Seeing her demeanor, Xu Chengyang nervously approached and poked her, speaking in a cute and coquettish voice: "What’s wrong, Wanwan, isn’t Fu giving you enough love..."

Mentioning Fu Weiheng...

Su Wan gritted her teeth: "I feel like stabbing you."

Xu Chengyang: "..."

Qiaozi couldn’t stop laughing and walked over to Su Wan, throwing an arm around her shoulder: "Wanwan, I’ve been wanting to stab her for a long time too!"

Xu Chengyang jumped in front of Su Wan and closed her eyes, speaking as if facing certain death: "Then stab me, being stabbed by you is an honor, but don’t stab my chest, I have my period these days, and my breasts are really sore."

Su Wan: "..."

Qiaozi: "..."

Qiaozi thought that, throughout Yan University, she wouldn’t find another person as quirky as Xu Chengyang.

Soon, Ah Min arrived in a hurry as well, and the group started tuning their instruments for practice without saying much. After two runs, Xu Chengyang felt something was off and shook her arm, exclaiming: "My goodness, I don’t know if I’ve been playing too much Paganini lately, but my vibrato is starting to feel like Parkinson’s syndrome!"

"..."

By the time they returned to the dormitory, it was already very late, and Yao Ye had likely just returned not long ago as she was taking a shower. Su Wan, feeling sleepy, pulled out her phone and took a look. There were two WeChat messages and a new friend request.

The messages were from Mr. Fu; one asked if she had finished practicing, and the other told her he would come to pick her up for breakfast the next morning. After replying to him, Su Wan opened the friend request. The WeChat name was Jiang, and there was no profile picture, like a zombie account.

Just then, Yao Ye came out of the bathroom, and Su Wan, feeling an urgent need to relieve herself, put her phone aside and rushed in.

Early the next morning, when dawn was just breaking and Su Wan was still groggy with sleep, she felt a faint pain in her stomach and had to go to the bathroom.

Sure enough, her period had arrived.

Feeling tired since it was still early, she went back to bed to continue sleeping.

When she woke up again, it was already broad daylight, and both Xu Chengyang and Yao Ye were ready to head out. Su Wan rubbed her aching stomach, got out of bed, feeling like her body was heavy and sluggish as if soaked in water.

Yao Ye noticed her lethargic demeanor and asked with concern: "What’s wrong, Wanwan?"

Su Wan’s voice was weak: "Pe...ri...od."

Yao Ye: "..."

Xu Chengyang, coming out of the bathroom in time to hear, laughed: "I just got mine two days ago, and now you’ve got yours. My influence is huge, huh!"

Su Wan: "..."

Yao Ye handed her a cup of warm water: "The first day of your period feels like death, Wanwan, don’t go to work today, just take a leave."

"Yeah, Wanwan, Fu is on our side, you can tell him. If you’re embarrassed, I can say it for you." Saying that Xu Chengyang took out her phone to send Fu Weiheng a message, but Su Wan raised her hand to stop her, "No need. I’ll drink some brown sugar water. He just mentioned that I can’t take leave during this period, or it wouldn’t be fair to everyone."

Xu Chengyang didn’t say much more and quietly put her phone back in her pocket.

"You two go ahead, I’m fine. Fu Weiheng will come to pick me up." Su Wan straightened up, pretending to be fine and winked at them before heading into the bathroom to freshen up.

The two felt assured hearing that Fu would come to pick her up and left with their backpacks.

When Su Wan, carrying her violin, went downstairs, Fu Weiheng was already waiting. He sat in the car, with the window half rolled down, his finely chiseled features partially visible.

As if sensing something, Fu Weiheng looked up and saw her. He got out of the car, walked over to her, took the violin from her shoulder, and let his gaze linger momentarily on her pale, tired face, frowning with concern: "Get in the car."

Holding her hand, they walked to the car door. Suddenly, Su Wan’s abdomen was seized with a wave of pain, like a thousand needles piercing, making her clutch her belly as she climbed into the passenger seat.

After putting the violin in the back seat, Fu Weiheng sat in the car but didn’t rush to start it. Instead, he leaned over to fasten her seatbelt, noticing something was off. Su Wan asked, "Why did you..."

He knew what she wanted to ask and said straightforwardly, "I just ran into your roommate."

Su Wan was slightly stunned, realizing that Xu Chengyang must have told him about her period. The thought made her slightly embarrassed, and she turned her face to look out the window.

Fu Weiheng stepped on the gas and softly said, "Get some sleep first."

Feeling extremely uncomfortable, Su Wan nodded slightly and drifted off to sleep shortly afterward.

She slept very soundly throughout the bumpy ride, not waking up. Mid-sleep, she remembered she needed to get off near the company, so she forced herself awake, only to find she was no longer in the car. Instead, she was cradled in Fu Weiheng’s arms as he carried her, her violin strapped to his back. Su Wan peeked around quickly, instantly waking up. They were in an elevator! Did Fu carry her all the way from the car to the elevator?

"Where is this?" Su Wan murmured, squirming, trying to get down from his arms.

"Don’t move." Fu Weiheng tightened his grip to stop her, saying, "My apartment."

Before Su Wan could process her shock, the elevator dinged, signaling their arrival. She watched in disbelief as Fu Weiheng carried her out of the elevator, unlocked the door with a fingerprint scan, and entered the apartment.

Seeing him head straight into the bedroom, Su Wan began to feel a bit anxious, trembling as she said: "I... I have my period..."

Fu Weiheng gave her a sidelong glance, his expression unreadable as he said in a deep voice, "What’s going on in that brain of yours?"

With that, he gently placed her on the bed, tucking her in.

Su Wan’s ears turned hot, and she pulled the blanket over half her face, leaving only her eyes visible, murmuring shyly: "I thought you were going to..."

Mr. Fu chuckled, leaned down, and kissed her forehead, admitting earnestly: "I do want to, but not now."

Su Wan: "..."

"Get some sleep," he said, tucking the blanket around her snugly, "The group has a day off today, so no practice."

Su Wan blinked in surprise: "What about you?"

"I’ll be outside, I’m not leaving."

Feeling reassured, Su Wan soon fell into a deep sleep again.
