CHAPTER 73: CHAPTER 31: DECLARATION OF SOVEREIGNTY

Jiang Group Building.

"Done!" Mo Yang tapped the enter key with his index finger, a smug smile playing on his lips. "Zhi Yan, according to your request, all the records have been posted, and yesterday’s post has been deleted. Take a look?"

Mo Yang opened the post he had just sent and turned the laptop screen towards Jiang Zhiyan, who was sitting in his office chair.

Jiang Zhiyan took a cigarette from the pack with a flick of his fingers, lit it, took a drag, and said blandly, "Do as you see fit."

Mo Yang got up from the sofa, walked to the bar, poured a glass of red wine, and asked curiously, "What’s up with this girl? Going in so hard, that’s not your style, is it, Zhi Yan?"

Jiang Zhiyan flicked the ash off his cigarette and said nothing.

-

Su Wan walked out of the bathroom in disbelief.

Inside the office, Fu Weiheng had finished his work. Seeing her push the door open, he asked nonchalantly, "Why did it take so long?"

Su Wan nervously squeezed her palm, seeing his usual expression, she thought he must not know about the forum thing, so she casually lied, "I might have eaten a bit too much for lunch."

Fu Weiheng didn’t think much of it, got up to pour two glasses of water, and looked back at her, "Do you want to take a nap?"

Su Wan looked up at the clock. There was still more than an hour before work, so she nodded, "Okay."

When she awoke, to avoid arousing suspicion, Su Wan went to the practice room fifteen minutes early. Wen He entered and saw Su Wan practicing a piece by herself, somewhat surprised, "Wanwan, didn’t you go home at noon?"

Su Wan flipped through the sheet music and casually lied, "Yeah, the school was too far, so I stayed in the lounge downstairs for a while."

Wen He, wiping the golden flute in her hand, walked over and glanced at the instrument between Su Wan’s legs, only to notice, "Oh, you switched instruments?"

Su Wan continued to lie, "My own instrument is being repaired, so this one is from the group."

Wen He, "...Oh."

Soon everyone was there, and they began a tense afternoon of practice. After two months of getting along and coordinating, Su Wan had roughly adapted to the group’s pace and practice style, being able to perform a piece with everyone completely. As long as she polished the details a bit more in her spare time, the concert in March shouldn’t be a problem for her.

After practice in the afternoon, Su Wan packed up her instrument and returned it to the lounge. Seeing everyone else was gone, she hurriedly took the elevator to the underground parking lot.

While Fu Weiheng was waiting for her in the car, he flipped through the screenshots Jiang Zhiyan had sent yesterday on his phone again. It wasn’t until Su Wan opened the door and got in that he casually pressed the lock screen, placed the phone on the central console, and asked her, "Hungry?"

Su Wan clicked her seat belt with a "snap", "A little."

The car drove out of the underground parking, and Fu Weiheng took her directly to a restaurant.

As dusk approached, Su Wan gazed out at the crowded lanes from the window, her mind drifting back to the post that appeared on the school forum at noon.

Who could it be?

It shouldn’t be the God, right? Since the incident yesterday, he hasn’t mentioned a word about the forum.

Thinking all the way, Su Wan came to no conclusion.

When she came to her senses again, the car was pulling up to a Cantonese restaurant.

After parking, the two went inside to find a window seat. While Fu Weiheng was ordering, Su Wan casually opened her phone to refresh her feed. The class group was as lively as ever, mainly discussing today’s latest revelation. Lacking interest, Su Wan turned off the phone, her gaze drifting to Fu Weiheng across the table. Compelled by some impulse, she opened the camera and snapped several shots of his elegantly handsome face.

After ordering, the waiter walked away with the menu, and Fu Weiheng took a sip of warm water, his gaze falling on the smiling Su Wan glued to her phone screen, asking her, "Does it look good?"

Su Wan looked up from her phone, smiling, "Yes, it does."

He lowered his cup and leaned forward slightly, pointing to the photo of his candid self, "Is the photo good or is your phone wallpaper better?"

Hearing this, Su Wan glanced at the cartoon wallpaper on her phone screen and honestly laughed, "The photo’s better."

"Hmm." Satisfied, Fu Weiheng took another sip of lemon water, calm as ever, "Then use my photo as your wallpaper."

Su Wan, "..."

Somehow, she fell into the trap again...

By the end of the meal, Su Wan was so full she felt she might gain fifteen or twenty pounds if it continued this way.

Struggling up, she went to the bathroom.

Fu Weiheng wiped his mouth with a tissue, about to reach for the lemon water next to him, when the silver-gray phone on the table buzzed and vibrated. The screen lit up, displaying a message on top, with a glimpse of it catching his eye, showing the words "Gu Ming" at the front.
