CHAPTER 79: CHAPTER036 YEAR AFTER YEAR ON THIS DAY (2)

Sitting in the car, Fu Weiheng started the engine, and a clear violin melody spread with the sound of ignition, instantly breaking the silence inside the car.

Su Wan fastened her seatbelt, noticing Fu Weiheng’s solemn expression. She couldn’t help but find it endearing, so she asked knowingly, "What’s wrong?"

Fu Weiheng buckled his seatbelt, placing his hand on the steering wheel, "Sit tight."

As soon as he spoke, a pleasant and fragrant scent filled the air. Fu Weiheng turned his head, and in the next second, soft lips gently pressed against his own, then quickly left.

For a moment, Fu Weiheng’s breathing was disrupted. Su Wan smiled, her eyes clear and bright like water, "I’m fine, don’t be upset, Neil."

Fu Weiheng’s heart softened instantly. He reached out to caress her neck and kissed her forehead, his voice gentle, "Where do you want to go?"

Su Wan took out her phone, opened an app, and held it up to him with a smile, "How about we go see a movie?"

He placed his hand back on the steering wheel, "Alright."

The car merged into traffic. Being the weekend, the roads were a bit congested. Fu Weiheng drove slowly, while Su Wan propped her head on her hand, occasionally glancing at the street view through the half-open window.

The phone in her pocket buzzed twice with incoming messages. Su Wan took it out and saw it was a WeChat from Fu Weijin. She glanced at the person driving and opened WeChat.

Jin: "Wanwan, I’ve arranged a private room for you at the Magic restaurant. I even had it specially decorated for a nice birthday dinner."

Swan: "Thank you, Sister Wei Jin, love you."

Jin: "I’ll pick up the cake later and leave it at the restaurant. You two enjoy tonight, I won’t intrude. But I guess Neil probably forgot that today is his birthday."

Jin: "He’s never been that into these things. In previous years, he was either preparing for performances or working hard, never really celebrating. Now with you, he can finally have a proper birthday. Wanwan, you’re so thoughtful."

After reading Fu Weijin’s messages, Su Wan replied and exited the app, also taking the chance to scroll through her moments.

...

Looking up from her phone, the car had already driven into the cinema parking lot. Su Wan put away her phone, leaned over to grab the coat from the back seat, and put it on after the car stopped.

Fu Weiheng locked the car and looked up to see Su Wan standing in front of the car. He noticed she had dressed up specially today, wearing a dress with light makeup and even high heels. This sight gradually brightened his previously moody disposition, as he stepped forward to take her hand and walk towards the cinema, asking, "Why the sudden movie date?"

Su Wan pondered for a moment, "Didn’t I owe you a date from last time? I’m making it up to you today."

"Wanwan." He smoothed her silky long hair, his eyes gentle, "You look beautiful today."

Su Wan felt her ears heat up, "... Th-thank you."

After collecting their tickets and buying snacks at the cinema, it was nearly time for the show to start. The two stood in line to check their tickets, a striking couple that undoubtedly drew the gazes of nearby men and women.

Noticing the admiring glances from the girls around, Su Wan felt a slight discomfort and muttered to Fu Weiheng, "Mr. Fu really is, infinitely charming."

Fu Weiheng shot her a sideways glance, retorting, "Compared to madam, I pale in comparison."

Su Wan: "..."

After the movie ended, there was still some time before dinner, so Su Wan dragged Fu Weiheng downstairs to the arcade. Speaking of arcades, Fu Weiheng had never been to such places, mainly due to a busy schedule or spending his free time practicing piano, rarely going out.

Su Wan was different. Back in high school in Yi City, Qin Yan often took her to the arcade near her aunt’s house. Qin Yan loved playing basketball and coin pushers. Every time they went, he would give Su Wan ten coins to play the claw machine, while he squatted at the coin pusher for an entire afternoon.

Su Wan didn’t know back then that the claw machine claws could be manually set, so she never caught a single toy. Once, after spending all ten coins without catching anything, she unwillingly dragged Qin Yan over.

Brother Qin tossed the game coins in his hand, cockily raising an eyebrow and boasting, "Watch, your brother will wipe out these little things for you."

Then, Su Wan silently watched him spend all the coins in the basket, yet failing to grab even a single toy.

Brother Qin, furious, kicked the claw machine, cursing under his breath, "Damn it, not playing anymore, such a piece of junk!"

Turning around, he met Su Wan’s brooding eyes.

Qin Yan felt a sudden chill at the back of his neck, rubbed his nose awkwardly, and forced a laugh, trying to regain some dignity, "Your brother’s hands are meant for judo tournaments, not for catching these silly things, right?"

With that, he pulled Su Wan out of the arcade. After hopping on the little electric scooter and starting it, he heard Su Wan’s disapproving mutter from behind, "Can’t even handle a claw machine, yet talks about entering judo tournaments..."

Qin Yan: "..."
