Love You Till the End
Chapter 440: A Touch of Gentleness in His Overbearing Ways
CHAPTER 440: CHAPTER 440: A TOUCH OF GENTLENESS IN HIS OVERBEARING WAYS
Shen Cheng had no chance to speak before she was pulled back into his warm embrace.
Leaning against his chest, Shen Cheng looked up at him, "Is it a bit inappropriate for a superior and a subordinate to be this intimate?"
Shi Yu closed his eyes and dispassionately uttered two words: "Very good."
Seeing his weary look, Shen Cheng slightly furrowed her brow.
He must have been busy all morning.
A secretary’s main duty is to alleviate the CEO’s worries, but she... seemed to have added to his burden instead.
She reached out to hook her hand around his neck, "Are you hungry? If you are, I can go buy you some food."
"Someone will deliver it."
Seeming a bit tired, he didn’t even open his eyes.
His voice, magnetic and gentle.
Shen Cheng pressed her body closer to him, tracing circles on his chest with her finger, her voice unusually soft, "Are you sure you don’t want to eat the lunch I sell?"
Finally, Shi Yu opened his eyes, his gaze locked on her face, and he moved his thin lips, "Always trying to seduce me."
Shen Cheng smiled crookedly, "How else can we continue developing our office romance?"
Shi Yu quietly watched her, no longer saying anything, which was as good as giving his consent.
Shen Cheng wriggled out from his embrace and gave him a kiss on the lips, "A reward for you."
After saying that, she turned around and walked out.
It was lunchtime, and there were not many people in the office area—only a few gathered in small groups, chatting and laughing.
As Shen Cheng walked by, a few female colleagues’ topic immediately shifted.
"Look, isn’t that the CEO’s new secretary!"
"Yeah, that’s her!"
"And honestly, with that figure, that face, that demeanor, she could go compete in beauty contests! How else would the CEO have chosen her?"
"I heard that yesterday the CEO asked her out to dinner, but she turned him down. Said she was married and wouldn’t date any man other than her husband."
"Oh my goodness! The CEO asked her out?"
"Don’t make such a fuss about it; half the company knows about it. Actually, I think she is quite principled. Being married and not hiding it, quite frankly, makes her even more attractive."
"Right, right..."
Everyone was buzzing with excitement, naturally focusing on the new Secretary Shen.
Shen Cheng went to the staff cafeteria and picked two vegetable rolls and two milks?
"Secretary Shen, who are you getting these for?"
Shen Cheng turned around and saw Zhao Ke, whom she had spoken with briefly before.
Seeing her puzzled face, Shen Cheng curled up the corners of her mouth, giving her an answer, "The CEO."
"Ah? The CEO! Doesn’t he always avoid eating cafeteria meals?" Zhao Ke’s eyes were full of surprise.
Pausing briefly, she continued, "Secretary Shen, you know, everyone is really envious of you."
"Hmm?"
"Because you get to see the CEO every day. How many people can easily speak with the CEO?"
Shen Cheng smiled and said nothing more.
When she returned to the office, she found it completely empty; the glass walls were like clear barriers, allowing one to see across the large office at a glance.
Noticing something on the desk, she closed the door and walked over.
It was a note.
The handwriting was neat and clean, consisting only of a simple line: "Eat your meal, take a walk afterwards, and only then are you allowed to sleep. There’s a blanket on the sofa."
Only then did Shen Cheng notice that there was now a blanket on the sofa which hadn’t been there in the morning.
This man...
Dominant yet gentle.
Unconsciously, she curled up the corners of her lips.
