Love You Till the End
Chapter 457 - 458: The Mysterious Game
CHAPTER 457: CHAPTER 458: THE MYSTERIOUS GAME
"So what?"
Shen Cheng hooked her lips, her smile widening.
"How about we play a game," the man said, stretching out his slender fingers upward, "Here there are 10,001 bottles, each containing a slip of paper. On each slip, there are ways to live, ways to die, and the cost of a life worse than death."
Shen Cheng followed his hand upward, countless glass bottles gently swaying, occasionally clinking against each other with a crisp yet piercing sound.
Her gaze returned to the man, as she smiled, "Are you suggesting I pick one from inside?"
"No, pick three," the man’s eyes twinkled with an unfathomable smile, deliberately slowing his speech, "Three bottles represent three choices, three chances. You can pick one, whether it’s life, death, or a fate worse than death, it’s all up to you alone to decide. But be clear, having three chances doesn’t necessarily mean there’s a chance of survival."
"Of course, you can also refuse to play this game."
Shen Cheng discerned the underlying implication from his words.
"And if I refuse?"
The man toyed with the Jade Ring on his thumb, speaking leisurely: "If you refuse, I will invite someone else to play the same game. And he might only have one chance."
"Madman!"
Two words dripping with disdain spilled from her lips.
How could she not know whom this man referred to!
"It’s just playing a game, it’s not madness," the man chuckled softly, "Others might not even qualify to play this game, yet you have three chances. Women should learn to be content, you know."
Shen Cheng chuckled lightly: "If you want my life, there’s no need for such complexity, just take it. If you seek thrills this way, then you’ve chosen the wrong method."
She paused slowly, then opened her lips: "Because, I never play such boring games, and my man wouldn’t play with you either!"
The man looked at her askance, his eyes brimming with confidence: "I believe you won’t play this game, but..."
He deliberately trailed off, leaving the rest for Shen Cheng to guess.
Shen Cheng met his gaze, her eyes filled with murderous intent, dangerously intense.
Their eyes locked, as if fighting dozens of rounds invisibly, both ending up severely wounded!
The man suddenly laughed boisterously, his slender hand pressing down on the ring, and behind him, an image appeared.
It was a screen similar to a projection, out of place in this eerie and mysterious setting.
In the image, a tall, handsome man stood on the top floor of a decrepit building.
Above the building, just as many glass bottles hung suspended.
Next to him, a woman clad in black spoke coldly: "Will you play this game, or will she?"
The breeze tousled Shi Yu’s neatly trimmed hair, his chiseled face bearing a fluctuating smile, eerily beautiful.
Suddenly, his thin lips curved upwards into an arc.
"I will play."
Two words, spoken decisively, impossible to ignore.
At that moment, time seemed to freeze.
Watching him in the image, Shen Cheng involuntarily clenched her hands.
Finally withdrawing her gaze, she shifted her eyes to the masked man, her bright red lips gently parting: "I will play."
The casually spoken words carried an undeniable determination.
