Love You Till the End
Chapter 685 - 681: Not Playing Cards Today
CHAPTER 685: CHAPTER 681: NOT PLAYING CARDS TODAY
After her nail polish dried, Ye Jin changed out of her home clothes and put on a rose-red dress, which perfectly matched the color she had just applied to her nails.
She fiddled with her wine-red curly hair in front of the mirror, seemingly very satisfied with her look and makeup today, a seductive smile curving up on her lips.
For a woman, youth is an asset. Since she could marry a man excellent in every aspect, it wasn’t impossible to find an even more outstanding man in the future.
Picking up her newly bought limited edition LV bag, she looked in the mirror for a while, and feeling that nothing was amiss, she finally took her thermal flask and went downstairs.
Before leaving the house, she went to the kitchen. Normally, she rarely entered the kitchen, being the type to avoid it if possible, and she would absolutely not step into the kitchen unless Shi Yaoguang requested it.
Thus, seeing her entering the kitchen made the servants feel somewhat perplexed.
"What is the wife doing in the kitchen?"
"I have no idea..."
"Could it be she’s throwing away the bird’s nest porridge because it didn’t taste right?"
"You all know her well enough; if she finds the taste not to her liking, she’d rather add something to it to make the person who prepared it eat it! There’s no way she would personally go and throw it away."
"That’s true, not to mention entering the kitchen, usually, even when passing by the kitchen, she would cover her nose and mouth as if she finds it disgusting."
"It probably isn’t about the bird’s nest porridge. When I went to serve her the porridge a while ago, she didn’t eat it at all. She even asked me to bring her a thermal flask, probably to take the porridge to someone else."
"No way, the bird’s nest porridge was already served in a bowl and she was about to drink it, then she took it to give someone else?"
"My goodness, that’s rather disgraceful. How could she, being such an esteemed lady, do such a morally wrong thing?"
The servants, hiding in a dark corner, murmured among themselves about Ye Jin’s entry into the kitchen. They knew well how she dealt with people; a slight mistake could lead to firing a servant or docking their pay, and no one dared to offend her, so they kept their voices very low, fearing she might overhear them.
Soon, Ye Jin came out of the kitchen with a smug smile on her face, unknowing of what she had done inside.
The few servants scattered quickly before she came out of the living room, avoiding being noticed by her.
The driver parked the car on the driveway outside the front yard, then got out and opened the door for Ye Jin: "Madam, are you going to the usual place today?"
The ’usual place’ referenced by the driver was a card room. Ye Jin, having no job and being idle, would meet with several wealthy ladies every day to play mahjong.
Usually, when a few women gathered, it was mostly about gossip, such as whose daughter got married today, whose son got married yesterday. Whose wife was infertile, ...
In front of these wealthy ladies, Ye Jin only ever had them speaking to her in humble and flattering tones, so when she felt ignored at home, she liked to seek a sense of existence in front of them, thus enjoying this form of pastime.
Normally, as long as someone invited her, she would definitely not be absent.
However, today before leaving, she indeed turned down several invitations to play mahjong.
"I’m not going to play cards today," Ye Jin said, placing the thermal flask aside and instructing, "Go to Bo’an Hospital."
"Yes, madam."
The driver closed the door for her and then got into the driver’s seat, started the engine, and smoothly drove the car out of the gate.
