CHAPTER 322: CHAPTER 322 PRACTICE DUEL [PART 1]

"So what are the rules?" Isabella asked as they moved inside the training ground."

"Everything is allowed, and you girls win if I surrender, get knocked out, or run out of Mana, but you lose if I land a hit on you with my hands," Ethan spoke.

"If you land a hit, with your hands...are you making it harder for yourself or simpler, isn’t landing a hit more difficult than just using spells and winning?" Mabel asked.

"Leave him alone, I don’t think he realizes that we’re stronger than before" Edith spoke as the girls stood at the other side while Ethan took his time creating distance between them.

"Before we start, I just want to tell you girls, you’re free to go all out, because you won’t win either way" Ethan spoke as he placed his hands on the ground.

"Come forth, Varek," Ethan spoke as a spell circle was drawn, and his knight came out.

"This is a practice, so don’t strike to kill or injure, hold back when attacking," Xavier spoke.

The girls’ jaws dropped as soon as Varek stood up; among them, only Isabella and Crystal already knew. The rest of them were dumbfounded.

"I thought it was supposed to be a secret" Isabella spoke.

"Too many people already found out, it’s no use keeping it a secret anymore," Ethan replied, "This is Varek, my very own summon with magic resistance armor, let’s see how you girls would do, the battle starts now," Ethan spoke.

As soon as Ethan finished speaking. Edith didn’t waste time as her hand sparked and a lightning bolt shot across the training ground, straight at Ethan.

Ethan didn’t move or try to block as Varek stepped forward and the lightning smashed into his armor.

Sparks flew everywhere, but Varek didn’t budge, only a faint glow rippling over the armor.

"Tch... it really is magic resistant," Edith muttered.

"Don’t just stand there, attack!" Freya yelled, raising both hands.

She spun her hands and threw three fireballs toward Ethan and Varek, each one bigger than the last.

At the same time, Isabella stretched her arms and ice spikes rose from the ground heading towards Ethan’s path.

Varek couldn’t block both at once so it went towards the ice spikes from Isabella while Ethan raised his hands.

[Wind Gust]

A sudden burst of wind blew the first two fireballs off course, sending them exploding to the side, while Ethan had to dodge the third one as his wind would only cause it to explode.

Crystal stomped forward. The ground cracked, and a stone wall rose high in the air. Then she spoke.

"Block them in!" she called as she was planning to unleash it while the other kept Ethan and Varek occupied.

But Ethan smirked, before the girls could cast spells Varek jumped high towards the stone and with his sword he split it into pieces.

While Ethan fired a [Lightning Bolt] forcing Crystal to step back and create a wall in front of herself to avoid the hit.

This was just testing; Mabel hadn’t even joined the fight, as she was still observing Varek. To her, it was just too much for a single male to wield such power.

"It seems you’re taking it easy, well then I’ll start" Ethan spoke.

[Bolt Barrage]

Ethan stretched his hands as he shot out lightning towards all five of them.

"Barrier!" Mabel moved in front of them as she created a barrier that blocked the lightning.

The girls regrouped behind Mabel’s barrier, their eyes sharp and focused.

"They’re not bad," Ethan muttered, standing calmly with Varek beside him.

"Not bad? You haven’t seen anything yet," Edith growled as she joined the battle.

Lightning danced over her body as she activated Lightning Cloak, her speed increasing and she darted forward, faster than before, aiming straight at Ethan.

"Varek, cover," Ethan said.

Varek moved, his sword swinging to block Edith’s strike. Sparks followed as her lightning-covered fist slammed against the blade. She tried to push through, but Varek didn’t move an inch.

"Try harder," Ethan teased just behind Varek.

Edith grit her teeth and leapt back just in time for Freya’s next move, now they were truly coordinating.

"Flame Stream!" Her body lit up in fire, and with her hands stretched she let out a long stream of flame, sweeping it across Ethan’s side.

Varek finally used his skill as he grabbed Ethan and used [Dash] moving faster than the girls could see and dodging Freya’s flames.

As soon as Varek dropped Ethan he dashed towards Isabella as the girls were spaced out.

The girls turned fast, but Ethan raised his hand, shadows stretching forward. "Dark Bind!"

Black ropes shot out, wrapping around Isabella’s legs before she could react. She gasped and tried to freeze them, but the shadows pulled tight causing her to lose balance, knocking her to the ground.

"Isabella!" Crystal called out.

She raised her arms, and tiny stones shot from the ground, smashing against the shadows which Isabella had already frozen, breaking them apart. Isabella quickly scrambled back on her feet while Ethan backed away as both Mabel and Freya shot fireballs at him.

"That was close," Isabella muttered, her breath shaky, but now that the girls were done, they had separated Varek from Ethan, with Edith handling Varek.

Ethan stood calmly. "One almost down," he said, a small grin on his face.

"Don’t get ahead of yourself!" Freya shouted, flames burning even hotter, she was starting to get serious.

She got into a stance that showed she wanted to throw something, but she held nothing in her hands, and the next moment, a flame spear formed in her hands as she threw it at him, and at the same time, Edith shot a Lightning Spear straight towards Varek.

Ethan didn’t call for Varek this time as he stretched his hands forming a barrier, [Advance Barrier]. Ethan could also see Isabella creating spikes of ice, probably to fire after Freya’s spear destroyed his barrier, but in front of the barrier, he created another barrier.

But the girls had other plans, as soon as Freya’s spear hit his barrier Isabella fired her ice spikes but it wasn’t towards Ethan, instead, she fired just above him and before Ethan could register what they were doing the ground below him suddenly shot upward taking him to the same level as the ice spikes.
