Chapter 185 Head On
CHAPTER 185: CHAPTER 185 HEAD ON
"Sorry to cancel your plans but get ready for battle, we’re hunting a sky dragon"
The dragon figure in the sky slowly began to move.
His wings spread wide, almost covering the sun for a moment, and then folded slightly as the air around him started to shift.
Star took a step back, her expression turning pale again. "He’s coming down..." she whispered to Xavier.
She didn’t try to oppose him when Xavier told her they were going to kill him because she knew, she knew he would kill both of them if he desired, so there was nothing wrong with trying to survive, especially as both of them had tasted death before.
Xavier’s eyes followed the dragon above as Azure began to descend slowly. He didn’t flap his wings; instead, the wind itself carried him.
His massive body glided smoothly, almost as if he were floating rather than falling. The clouds twisted around him as he came down, and every few seconds, tiny lightning sparked around his body.
When he got closer, Xavier could finally see him clearly, a massive dragon with deep blue scales that shimmered like crystal every time lightning flashed across his body.
His eyes glowed white, with streaks of blue running through them. Even though he still hadn’t touched the ground, the air pressure alone was enough to make the ground tremble lightly.
Then Azure’s wings stretched outward once more, and his entire body began to glow. A blue light wrapped around him, and in seconds his massive dragon form began to shrink.
His wings folded in, his horns receded, and the glow surrounding him dimmed.
As the light faded, a man now floated where the dragon once was. He was tall, with hair as white as the clouds and faint black streaks running through it.
His eyes still glowed faintly, and just like Star, as he transformed, he was naked, but unlike Star, his main part was covered, covered by a tiny cloud that floated with him.
Azure didn’t fall; he simply drifted downward, carried by invisible wind currents till he reached the ground.
Star’s legs felt weak as she whispered, "He’s even stronger than before..."
"You know dragons the most, what are our chances if we worked together?" Xavier asked, his tone calm even though he could feel the power pressing against his body.
"I fought a dragon weaker than him and was killed, I don’t know the scale of his powers and I don’t think you want to know," she replied quietly.
Xavier folded his arms, his eyes locked on Azure as he touched the ground softly. He hadn’t brought out his weapon yet, but he could do so in an instant.
Azure glanced around the island before his gaze landed on the two of them. His expression was calm, like he could see straight through them.
"A dragon and a human... such a strange pairing, and even stranger, a dragon considered to be dead," he said, his voice deep but smooth, carried by the wind itself.
"But dragons can’t really die, as long as your core is safe you can be restored, but your core was stored away, who revived you?"
Star immediately bowed slightly, her tone trembling. "Lord Azure, forgive us. I have no idea who did, but I found myself alive...as for the human, there was a battle on the human continent, and he was thrown here by an unstable teleportation spell," Star spoke.
"Hmm, is that so...well then, human, you can continue your journey, Howling Star, you’re coming with me," Azure spoke.
Star instinctively stood up and wanted to walk forward until Xavier spoke.
"Stop right there," Xavier uttered, his voice cutting through the air like sharp steel. Star stopped without hesitation.
Xavier stepped forward, standing between Star and Azure with a smile on his face as Azure turned around.
For a moment, Azure just stared at him, the wind around them completely still. Then, slowly, a small smile appeared on his face. "Interesting," he muttered.
"A human who dares speak like that in front of a dragon, even commanding one, does he have you under a spell, should I break you free?" Azure asked as he looked at her but she didn’t answer.
The air trembled again as Azure’s eyes glowed brighter. "Let’s see if your strength matches your words, and to make it fair, I would fight you in this form" Azure spoke.

Xavier’s sword was in his hand the next moment, and the first thing at the back of his head was defence; he had no idea how fast he was, how strong he was, but he knew well enough to avoid a hit head-on.
Star was beside Xavier, also in a battle stance. She had no choice but to protect him if he was in danger, even if she would die in the process.
Azure stared at Xavier for some seconds then spoke, "Star, who is this human?" He asked.
"His name is Xavier" Star replied.
"So you know nothing about him other than that. So Xavier, how are you able to stand in front of me without a single doubt in your mind...you are really planning to kill me." Azure chuckled slightly.
"I’m not planning to die is the right word,. Neither is Star, and she’s following you nowhere," Xavier replied.
"I was planning on killing you, but if you can survive my attacks for a minute without Star’s help, I’ll let you two go, how’s that?" Azure asked.
"Step away, Star," Xavier spoke as he held his sword tightly.
Azure took a deep breath before raising one of his hands up and immediately a dark cloud gathered above the island.
Azure’s hand stayed raised toward the sky, and the dark clouds above grew thicker and heavier. A low rumble followed, spreading across the entire island.
Xavier knew it would rain lightning, and he would need to dodge every since one. Given that lightning spells were fast, he would need to up his speed.
[War Buff]
Xavier exhaled, his eyes focused on Azure, this wasn’t his first time fighting a dragon.
