Lust System: Sword Genius in Women's World
Chapter 186 - 186 Unnatural Focus
Xavier exhaled, his eyes focused on Azure, this wasn't his first time fighting a dragon, or someone with lightning attributes, but he knew this person wasn't like the other.
Once the sky began rumbling, the first attack came, a single lightning bolt aimed at Xavier struck, a streak cutting through the wind, heading towards him.
It was fast but Xavier was slightly faster as he moved sideways dodging the lightning strike and a tiny smirk formed at the corner of Azure's mouth as he rained down hell.
It wasn't just one bolt, dozens came crashing down in random directions, bright white streaks cutting through the air and striking the ground with violent force.
Each hit made the air shake and the earth crack slightly beneath Xavier's feet as he dodged each of the attacks, with his [War Buff] his speed had increased, but not only that, his Mana perception was through the roof.
Since the attacks were coming from above, he didn't really need to look up to dodge an attack, he could already sense the attack and immediately reacted moving to the next spot.
Azure lowered his gaze toward Xavier and pointed his other hand forward.
Blue lightning began to spark around his arm before he launched it like a spear. The lightning tore through the air, heading toward Xavier but he was already moving.
He didn't blink. He didn't flinch. His body moved smoothly, his steps light and fast without a single doubt, if any of this attacks touched him, he might not be able to move, but that didn't stop him.
He dodged the lightning strikes with perfect timing, bending just enough for them to miss, so came so close he could feel the heat of the spell.
That was one reason he didn't used his dark mist as shield, it was weak against fire, so it wouldn't do much again lightning, it could block lightning but not for long so he couldn't rely on it, dodging was better and he was good at it.
Each step Xavier took was calculated, his sword slightly raised even though he wasn't attacking.
The air cracked again as Azure sent another wave of lightning from the clouds above, raining down in all directions like arrows but this time Xavier did the unexpected.
The ground exploded behind Xavier as he dashed forward. For some reason his focus was sharp, almost unnatural, his eyes locked on Azure, ignoring the flashes and thunder around him as he moved forward.
Star could only watch, stunned. She had fought with Xavier but this, this was different and she knew.
Xavier wasn't reacting, it felt like he was predicting. Every time lightning struck, he was already moving away before it even touched the ground.
Azure lowered his hand slightly, watching Xavier carefully. His face stayed calm, but there was a hint of surprise in his eyes.
"This human…" he mumbled under his breath.
He raised his other hand again, sending another bolt directly toward Xavier, faster and larger than before.
Xavier slid to the side at the last second, his boots cutting through the dirt as the bolt passed just behind him, leaving a long burning mark on the ground.
Without wasting a breath, Xavier increased his speed a notch dashing forward again.
Azure expected him to keep dodging, to stay back and defend letting the time he set run out. But instead, Xavier did the opposite.
He pushed forward.
Azure's eyes narrowed slightly as Xavier broke through the storm of lightning, his sword glowing faintly but not with Mana, it was coated with Kaan's crimson energy.
Xavier spun once, dodging another bolt that nearly touched his shoulder, and then leaped into the air.
[Wind Stride]
Lightning rained down around him, but Xavier didn't stop his jump and stepped on the air much to Azure's surprise.
His blade came down from above with a clean strike, aiming straight for Azure's chest.
Azure raised his arm, catching the blade between two fingers, lightning bursting from his skin as he blocked it.
The clash sent out a shockwave that blew dust and leaves across the ground. Azure pushed Xavier back slightly with a burst of wind, forcing him to land a few steps away.
Xavier's boots slid back a few inches, but he didn't retreat, his eyes locked on Azure.
For a brief moment, the two stared at each other, a human and a dragon, their auras clashing silently.
A faint smile appeared on Azure's face. "You actually attacked me," he said calmly, his tone carrying a trace of amusement then he looked at his hand and blood was running down his fingers as a slight cut was between his fingers.
The amusement on his face vanished for a second but a smile quickly returned as the wound healed in an instant.
Xavier wiped some dirt off his cheek but kept his sword raised. "You said a minute, right? It hasn't been that long."
Azure chuckled softly, a sound that carried through the air like a small echo.
"You could have stayed safe and waited it out, but instead you came closer to strike me. How foolish and yet..." he paused, lightning forming again around his hands. "...How interesting."
He lifted both hands this time, and the sky answered. Lightning began to swirl in circles above them, forming a massive spiral of energy.
Xavier knew he was preparing something big, and attacking Azure wasn't going to stop it as he could strike both of them since he would be immune to lightning.
The light above them grew brighter, and so did the sound, but Xavier stood firm staring at Azure who in turn was staring at him.
Azure looked at him again, this time with genuine curiosity. "Tell me, Xavier, do you fear death?"
Xavier smiled faintly, his sword pointing forward. "I've died once before," He mouthed. "It's not as bad as people think."
Azure's smile faded into a serious expression, his eyes glowing pure white as lightning wrapped around his arms. "Then let's see if you can die twice."
