Chapter 793: Chapter 260: Only You Can Cure My Illness (Five Updates Burst)_7
Mo Yunchen seemed to have not noticed Qin Qin’s expression at all, raising his head to look at Qin An, “Dad, is your leg okay now?”
Qin Qin, sitting on the side and hearing Mo Yunchen calling Qin An “Dad”, felt a shiver run through her whole body.
The hand caught by Mo Yunchen was very warm; she desperately tried to pull away, but was helpless to free it.
“I’m fine, don’t worry anymore, Qin Qin has already checked on me, it’s just some minor issues,” Qin An said with a smile. In these three years, Mo Yunchen’s care and concern for him had all been taken to heart. He felt fortunate that he had married off his daughter to Mo Yunchen, yet regretted that his daughter couldn’t enjoy Mo Yunchen’s deep affection; with this thought, Qin An felt a twinge of pain in his heart.
Mo Yunchen turned towards Qin Qin by his side and said in a low, alluring voice, “Then I should thank you.”
Qin Qin looked at Mo Yunchen, his gaze deep as ink, and found that once her eyes met his, she couldn’t pull away.
“Let me check on you again,” she said.
Qin Qin found an excuse, trying to pull her hand away, and this time, she managed to do it quite easily.
She breathed a sigh of relief and walked towards Qin An, sitting opposite him to take his pulse. Behind her, Mo Yunchen’s gaze remained on her, watching her serious profile, that familiar figure. He appeared lost in a daze, longing to step forward and embrace her, to share his yearning and pain.
After taking Qin An’s pulse and advising him on some precautions, she passed the herb she brought to Lee Fong, who thanked her gratefully.
Having finished taking Qin An’s pulse, Qin Qin found an excuse to leave quickly. She didn’t want to stay with Mo Yunchen; her heart was beating too fiercely, as if it might leap out of her chest. To calm herself, she hurried away.
Seeing Qin Qin’s determination to leave, Lee Fong no longer insisted and walked her to the door, “Let me have someone send you back.”
“No need, you go back inside. If there’s anything, just call me,” Qin Qin replied.
She left her phone number with Lee Fong, who quickly nodded, “Alright, I’ll tell you if anything comes up. Don’t be a stranger with me in the future. You can call me Aunt Lee just like Xuezhen, and call Qin An… Uncle Qin.”
She wanted so much to tell Qin Qin that Qin An was her father, wanted her to call him “Dad.” But she knew now was not the time, she remembered Lu Xue Zhen’s words.
Qin Qin nodded in agreement to Lee Fong’s hopeful look, “Okay, Aunt Lee.”
Hearing her call, Lee Fong’s eyes reddened slightly. That familiar voice calling her name made Lee Fong nostalgic, as if she had gone back in time.
“You go inside and take good care of Uncle Qin, I’ll head back now.”
After bidding farewell to Lee Fong, Qin Qin left the villa.
She walked outside and looked around, only to find not a single taxi in sight.
Suddenly, the sound of a speeding car came from behind. Qin Qin’s ears twitched, and she moved aside, but she didn’t notice a small stone on the ground. Her foot twisted, and her body tilted to the side.
A gust of wind passed by her, and a dark figure moved quickly to grasp her waist, falling to the ground in her stead.
Qin Qin felt herself land on a solid body. She looked up in surprise and saw Mo Yunchen holding her, fallen on the ground with his brows slightly furrowed.
Qin Qin smelled the scent of blood. She got up from Mo Yunchen’s body and asked, “What’s wrong with you?”
Her eyes moved to Mo Yunchen’s arm, where she saw an abrasion formed by the ground, blood mixed with dirt flowing onto the surface.
“You… are you all right?”
Seeing the wound on his arm, Qin Qin’s heart ached unbearably. She grabbed Mo Yunchen’s hand and asked anxiously.
Looking at her worried expression, Mo Yunchen’s lips curved slightly. Holding Qin Qin’s hand, he said in a low voice, “I’m fine, don’t worry.”
Her hand felt so hot in his grip that she wanted to pull away, but upon seeing his wound, she ultimately didn’t.
“I’m not worried about you; it’s just because you saved me, so I… ahem…”
After Qin Qin finished speaking, she pulled her hand away, unable to meet Mo Yunchen’s deep and intense gaze.
She tried to get up but, due to the pain in her ankle, collapsed to the side once again.
Mo Yunchen leapt up from the ground and held Qin Qin in his arms.
The familiar crisp scent rushed into Qin Qin’s embrace. Her eyes widened as she looked at Mo Yunchen; her black-framed glasses fell off the moment he held her, revealing her breathtakingly beautiful face to Mo Yunchen. Yet his gaze wasn’t captivated by her beauty; instead, it was entirely fixed on the eyes staring back at him.
Qin Qin tried to push Mo Yunchen away. He bent slightly, lifting her horizontally, and she let out a startled cry, instinctively wrapping her arms around him. Suddenly, a picture flashed through her mind—although it was fleeting, it triggered some recollection.
It seemed someone had held her like this before, someone had embraced her when she had twisted her ankle, a warm embrace that had fascinated her.
Qin Qin looked at Mo Yunchen dazedly and murmured in a low voice, “Did you… hold me like this before?”
Mo Yunchen lowered his head, his hold on her tightening, “Do you remember?”
Qin Qin shook her head, looking intensely at Mo Yunchen. She didn’t realize when she had been placed in the car. Mo Yunchen bent down, took her foot in his hand, and looked at her somewhat swollen ankle, gently rubbing it.
Qin Qin pulled her foot back, awkwardly pushing his hand away, “No need, it’s nothing serious.”
Her ankle wasn’t badly sprained, only feeling a slight stinging pain.
Qin Qin’s gaze shifted to Mo Yunchen’s arm, still bleeding, “Do you have a first aid kit here?”
The driver quickly retrieved the first aid kit and handed it to Qin Qin. After thanking him, she opened the kit.
“Stretch out your hand; I’ll apply the medicine for you.”
He was hurt because of her. It should be fine for her to apply medicine for him, right?!
Mo Yunchen sat next to Qin Qin, extended his hand, and fixed his gaze on her.
Qin Qin looked at the stretched out arm with a large abrasion at the elbow joint; the white shirt was also torn, a sight that was shockingly stark.
Qin Qin’s heart constricted, not daring to think further. She reached out, tearing open Mo Yunchen’s shirt, then took out the medicine. Bowing her head, she gently wiped the dust from his wound with a cotton swab, cleaned it with medicine, and then applied the ointment, finishing by bandaging it with gauze.
As Qin Qin bandaged Mo Yunchen’s wound, her hands paused, and another scene flashed through her mind.
She seemed to remember bandaging someone’s wounds like this before. She raised her head and her lips touched something soft. A familiar taste spread across her lips.
Eye to eye, she hadn’t expected Mo Yunchen to be watching her so intently. In the instant she raised her head, their lips met.
