CHAPTER 521: TRAVEL AND NON-TRAVEL TRAVEL CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN CAPTURE (PART 3)_3
"Mage Lynch, if this reassures you, then go ahead." Knight Macken unexpectedly smiled, "A little waste of time like this is still permissible."
The mage stepped forward, placing his hand on Knight Macken’s chest, then began to check if he was carrying any magic. Zilvra noticed the serious expression on Lynch’s face and also put her hand on the thin sword. Morgan, meanwhile, protected Soka, watching the mage and knight with some concern. However, Macken appeared quite at ease, as if he didn’t have any psychological burden.
After a while, Lynch withdrew his hand, pondered for a moment, and said, "Knight Macken, your body has gained too much supernatural vitality; it’s even making your body increasingly youthful. A powerful force is lurking within you, but it is very peaceful, at least temporarily it poses no harm to you."
The knight’s eyes widened, surprised. He patted his armor, "Lynch, your observation skills are truly sharp, to be able to notice such things?" Then he smiled and explained, "The divine mission given to me by the Light God will not harm me, rest assured. I am still who I am, Knight Macken."
"If it were the old you, you definitely wouldn’t say that." Lynch sighed, "I don’t understand why you accepted this commission; from the very beginning, did you plan everything? No, that’s impossible. I feel you’ve been drawn to some kind of power."
"What I carry now is hope, divine hope, so I need your help," Macken said, "When the time is necessary, I will tell you in detail. So, companions, should we stay here and discuss further, or move on with vigor?"
Lynch looked at Paladin Macken, but his mind conjured up the spirited Wood, or the young Wislin. It seemed that force not only made Macken’s physique younger but also revitalized his spirit. But Lynch didn’t like this change; it was too incredible and difficult to grasp and control. The mage suddenly recalled that those strange things not only invited the knight but were also very interested in the little angel Soka. If they delayed here too long, unexpected troubles were bound to arise. The mage patted Knight Macken’s shoulder and called everyone to board the carriage.
Zilvra leaned close to Lynch’s ear and whispered in Drow Language, "Should we keep a close eye on this knight? Is he dangerous now?"
The mage shook his head, writing in Zilvra’s palm, "Wait and see."
They resumed their journey, this time feeling as if they were escaping from a trap. With each step away from that forest, Lynch felt a little more at ease. The gaze that watched them day and night seemed to gradually dim. The mage gradually lifted his head, able to put more energy back into the work of creating Demon Statues, no longer as nervously looking over his shoulder like a startled bird. However, sometimes, when Lynch saw Knight Macken’s figure, he would fall into endless contemplation.
It was only one day, when the moon rose ahead of schedule into the sky and appeared simultaneously with the setting sun, that they were surprised to find they had reached another point where they needed to cross a river. Lynch looked at the map in his hand, puzzled; what should have taken half a month only took less than half the time. The Golden Forest behind them had already hidden behind hills, leaving no trace. Could it be that after detouring for a day, they achieved extraordinary speed?
"Thousands of stones! Those Beastmen have dismantled the wooden bridge here again." Morgan said angrily, "If I see them again, I’ll handle their bones the same way, let them experience this feeling themselves."
"Isn’t that too cruel? Dwarf uncle." Soka still hadn’t figured out Morgan’s "seniority."
"No, my dear little girl," Morgan said, "There are too many bad guys in this world waiting for me to deal with. I’ve taken out quite a few, but it’s not enough. Those Beastmen only dare to sneak around with little antics, they’re not brave enough to face my hammer! Lynch, use your eyes to see if there are any traces of Beastman around. I want to dismantle them one by one! Or use them to pave a new bridge!"
"Alright, brave dwarf warrior. We’re not entirely without a way across," Lynch said, "But if you continue to yell, I’ll have the Banshee carry you to the other side. Now, hurry back to your position; we’re about to set off."
