Chapter 669: Legendary and Legends in Legends Fifteen Situation_4
"You mean, you do not intend to join the Paladins' counterattack?"
"Gentlemen, we lack intelligence, we lack information," Vislin said. "I cannot let my soldiers fight blindly, leading them into a battlefield of chaos and peril."
"Hmph, I knew you would say that." A Judge took out a cylinder from his waist and unfolded its contents in front of Vislin: "Here is the scroll unveiled for us by the great Light God. From the high heavens, he has seen our suffering and delivered this enemy distribution map. Knight Vislin, do you have anything to say?"
Lynch looked at the chart in front of him; the terrain on it was completely accurate. Among those mountains and rivers, the Snake-man camps were densely packed, clearly marking how many troops were at each location and what kinds of roads connected the camps. To the north of the Five Realms Fortress, there was a huge Snake-man camp labeled "thirty thousand."
Vislin believed that this was the army coming to attack him. Adding up the smaller camps around it approximated the number of enemies that appeared in the defense of the Five Realms Fortress.
"When was this map obtained? How is it so clear?" Vislin asked.
"About two months ago. The Light God Pate, in all his grace, personally brought a revelation for the current Archbishop."
"Meaning, the knights knew as early as two months ago that a large Snake-man army had gathered north of the Five Realms Fortress." Vislin felt somewhat indignant: "Why could I see the reinforcements from Haisas, but none from the knights..."
Kuboert held Vislin's hand and stopped him from finishing that sentence. The Five Realms Fortress was like an entity drifting outside the temple system, and thus drifted outside the "key concern" area. Vislin had managed everything in the fortress by himself. The Haisas and Yim merchants he had helped during his adventures now supported most of the fortress's supplies; meanwhile, the Dwarves sent high-quality weapons and armor. Pate's temple, besides sending priests without healing abilities, only offered some condolences and encouragements. Now, they didn't even share information, nor did they send any reinforcements, which indeed left Vislin disheartened.
"Knight Vislin, I understand your predicament, but now the Light God's test is before you," the Judge said. "I believe, 'we' have always believed, you are a model of the Paladins, a fighter of loyalty and bravery!"
Vislin fell silent, two voices echoing in his mind. He hesitated, unable to make a final decision.
"This map is from two months ago," Kuboert suddenly spoke up. "The group of Snake-men marked here has already been eliminated, but now their numbers are still shown here. I never doubt the wisdom of the Light God, but the timeliness of this map is debatable."
Vislin immediately nodded: "Bishop Kuboert is right, we do not know the current arrangement of the Snake-men. I cannot lead my soldiers towards hidden traps!"
"Of course not. Would the great Light God make such a mistake?" the Judge said. "When we are fully prepared, the God of Pate will bestow the latest map upon us. With divine guidance, we will be invincible!"
Fanatic, and too blind—Vislin thought. But he could only nod and say, "When I am ready, I will certainly join the counterattack against the Snake-men."
"The holy Pate will remember your promise, Knight Vislin," the Judge said. "We will watch with anticipation."
