CHAPTER 33: BACK IN TENEBRE VILLAGE

We crested the hill and finally had Tenebre Village within our sights, it had been a long week back towards civilisation and I was glad to be back! Whilst I enjoy exploring and wandering around in nature there is just something reassuring about knowing you will have instant access to food and relaxation options without having to worry about a wild monster attacking you whilst trying to go to the bathroom at night, I shivered at that particular memory bats should not be that big! Or have that many legs!

Anyway our little party of 3 and an egg had grown a lot closer over our journey and it is safe to say that I have solidly fallen in love with the two of them, whilst I don’t think they have exactly fallen for each other they do get on quite well. With Amanda being the more stoic one and Kana enjoying to tease the vampire girl about her lust for my blood. Feeling a smile on my lips at that I turn back to my two companions and say. "Well we are nearly back, don’t know about you two but I think I’m going straight to a bathhouse, as happy as I am that I can create one I will prefer to not have to go through that effort any time soon!"

Seeing both of them nod at my suggestion I humm happily and begin to skip lightly down the hill. I also decide to check over my status to see how things have developed over my journey.

Smiling at my updated status screen I marveled at how close I was to ranking up into Iron with my soul aspect already at that level. I can thank dealing with the corruption and experiencing the Living Vines memories for that bump and the nightly activities with Kana for the rapid increase in my body aspect. Shouldn’t be more than a week or so to reach Iron rank at this rate I think.

Looking over my skills and spells I think over my Innate skills, after asking the two girls about it found out that Innate skills are core skills related to your class usually people only have 1 or 2 and they tend to get these when they unlock their class and then get a new one or upgrade an existing one every time they rank up. It is quite rare for me to have 4 and to have only recived 2 of them from my class unlock. And whilst I initially disliked my Body of Lust skill I have to say it really is my hidden ace as I can quickly and easily rank up from the safety of my bed, well so long as someone else is in it with me.

I couldn’t help but wonder what skills I will end up getting once I rank up or if any of my existing skills will upgrade instead, I think I would be quite happy with either option but time shall tell.

I also mentally go over the more material gains we got during our trip, in terms of money we got a total of 168 gold 49 silver and 120 copper. Item wise I got a new sword, Kana got a new bow and Amanda got a lovely new set of armour. We also picked up a fancy halberd but that will be getting sold, their was also a host of old and rusted weponds and armour that we will also be selling to the guild.

Whilst not a huge hall it will be plenty of money to keep us living comfortably for quite a while!

In no time at all we are once more outside the gates to the town and we head to the back of a short line of folk to get into the town. Thankfully the wait isn’t too long and before long we are at the front. "Reason for entry." One of the guards asks in a bored tone.

"Adventures back from an adventure." I say whilst holding out my badge. The guard just grunts at that.

"5 copper per person." He states matter of factly. Shrugging I hand over 15 copper for me and the two girls before we make our way into the town and I’m greeted by the now familiar sight of the busy streets bustling with people from a wide variety of species. Whilst iv seen it before I can’t help but be slightly amazed at how many different species I can see, it’s hard to get my head out of my earth sensibilities even when spending the last 2 weeks with a succubus and a vampire.

"Hey so where’s the best bathhouse I want to relax in luxury!" I happily ask the two.

Amanda is the one to answer. "Well we only have 1 dedicated bathhouse so that is the best one." Her dry response brings a soft snort out of me, her dry humor really is growing on me.

"Well then lead they way!" I happily state. I reach out and grab both of their hand for a quick squeeze. I can now do that as I managed to fashion a sling of sorts to carry the egg, its rests in such a way that my boobs end up sitting on top of it ensuring maximum coverage! I do also keep a low burn Aura of Life going at nearly all times. I have also learnt how to control it better and I can now shape the area I want my Aura to cover so I keep it focused on the egg.

I have found that I have become truly attached to the egg and find myself dreaming about what kind of creature it will hatch! Based on the amount of nature mana it has absorbed it has to be something strongly alligned with nature, I just hope I don’t have to wait too long for it to finally hatch!

As we make our way towards the bathhouse we do stop at a couple of food stands to pick up some fresh food. I find one place that is selling a kind of sandwhich but instead of it being in slices of bread it is in an entire loaf and is packed with freshly cooked meats and a variety of vegetables, I even manage to recognise some of them from my time foraging within the Forrest!

It is juicy and full of flavour and goes down a treat. I gleefully dig into it to my companions obvious amusement. They settle on a smaller version of what I got and both seemed quite happy with the purchase.

We arrive at the bathhouse after finishing up our meal, walking in we enter a clean wooden reception area with a desk on the far wall with 2 door on either side of the desk and then 2 moor doors one on each side. Walking up to the desk a cute catkin girl in a lovely kimono style robe greets us with a smile. "Hello I’d like to book a private bath for the 3 of us if possible?" I ask of her.

"Absolutely it will be 1 silver for the room, we do offer to clean your cloths for a further 5 cooler each if you’d like?"

Looking back at both girls in either travel worn outfits I agree that they could definitely do with a clean so I nod and slide over 2 silver coins. "For my companions my dress cleans itself." I say with a smile. The cat girl looks me up and down with what is trying to be a professional smile but I can tell that she appreciates the view quite a bit based on the glint in her eyes as she lingers just a bit too long on my chest area.

"Not a problem please follow me and I’ll take you to your bath." She then stands up and exits from behind the desk and leads us to the door on the right wall. Entering that we walk down a corridor until we get to another door, she opens it for us and gestures us inside. "Please leave your outfits in the changing room and they will be cleaned for you within the hour."

We thank her and head in. I just head straight to the bath dismissing my dress as I do and smirk at the two women that are fighting to take off their armour and clothing. Stepping through a arch I am greeted with a wide bath with steam rising off it, a natural and relaxing aroma permittes the room and once I dip my foot into the water I let out a soft groan of delight at the temperature. Sinking in I change the sling into a raft for the egg to float next to me and settle myself down in the warm bath. The ladies join me not to long later and we enjoy a nice and relaxing bath with only a small amount of tomfoolery happening.

After our hour we get dry and dressed before making our way out and decide to stop by the guild to turn in our mission and collect any bins pay before selling everything off.

This goes supprisingly quickly as Amanda gets one of the receptionists to quickly help us out and before long we are awarded a 50 gold bonus for our mission and manage to make a further 15 gold for the rusted gear and a whopping 120 gold for the enchanted halberd raising our total gold takeaway to over 300 gold!

Happy with our time in the guild we head out as the sun begins to set. We head to an inn to have some dinner and enjoy a meal with each other. I get a steak dish, Kana gets a pasta dish with a tomato equivalent sauce and plenty of cheese and Amanda joins me with a steak dish. After a lovely meal and a few mugs of ale we are all in a good mood.

However I decide to broach the topic that I’m a touch nervous about how Kana will react. "Hey so Kana, could you get a room here at the inn? I think I want to spend the night over at Amanda’s tonight." I smile nervously up at her.

"Hmm yeah that’s fine." I blink at her stupidly before she continues. "I’m honestly amazed you two didn’t run off the second we got into town! You’ve been giving each other bedroom eyes for a few days now and I know you want your first night together to be just you two. All I ask is that I’m allowed to join next time." She finishes that statement with a wide grin on her face.

Blushing I am unable to meet her eyes but I nod in thanks whilst Amanda replies. "We appreciate your understanding, and I think I would be open to sharing a bed with you soon." Her bluntness once again shocks me although at this point I really shouldn’t be surprised!

Smiling st each other we finish off our drinks before parting ways with a deep kiss to Kana as Amanda takes my hand and practically drags me out the door and back towards her place.
